This is not for me; however, it is for my boss, the store manager. At about two or so today, EST, the district manager called telling the assistant manager that he was coming in to do month ending instead of the store manager because her youngest son was shot in the head and died.
Her son was only 25, and they said that he was just at an apartment complex when he saw somebody crying, he asked why the guy was crying and the man shot my boss' son.
So, I ask you to keep Mary Hodge in your thoughts and prayers, as well as her sister Faye, who is a store manager at another store. Also, several friends and family work or has worked with Mary so keep them in your prayers as well as several district managers who also know the family quite well.
As for me, I only saw the guy about once or twice so I don't know him and his death doesn't really affect me beyond knowing another human died; however, seeing and knowing what effect it will/does have on so many people that I see almost everyday, who are somewhat like family, it saddens me and I've felt bad for my friends since finding out. Anyway, just remember this family.
He got shot for asking why the guy was crying? That's messed up. I'll keep your boss in my prayers, Ray.
It's a sad time when you can't even help someone without worrying about getting mugged or killed.

From the story we got, yes, and if there isn't more to the story than yes, it's really, really messed up.

Yes, yes, it is.
I'm sorry to hear about that as well. I'll keep her and the others in my prayers.
That must be really hard to deal with such a nonsensical death. I hope the one responsible is brought to justice soon.
Well, I found out a little more out about it. Apparently, the boss' son was in a card game, and the guy that shot him was losing and apparently whining about losing the money. So the son was teasing the guy about how much he was whining, and long story short, he was killed.
So, it wasn't as bad as getting killed for trying to help someone, but still he was ridiculously killed and there was absolutely no reason for it. The assistant said my boss' sister was taking it about as hard as she was; so, yeah.
Well if he was teasing him, then I could understand him getting angry. But that in no way justifies shooting him.
That is absolutely crazy.
What the resident Sailor said.
What An Idot that guy was. He should of Sucked it up and walk if off like a man. The world is sicking. Im Never
Your Boss son is In a better place then this box of Foot loops we call earth. My he rest in peace and May his killer die a painful death.
An eye for an eye? Can't say I agree. I hope the killer feels guilty for what he's done, but I couldn't wish death upon him as well.
Still, that is most uncool.... **hugs** Best wishes to your boss' family.

I don't typically pray, though I do believe in a higher power when I think about it. I did, though.

Glad you prayed SX, and thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Thankfully I was able to go to the funeral, place was so full I wasn't able to get into the sanctuary, and was able to see my boss at the end of the funeral, while the family was getting into the limo, and give her a hug and told her I loved her. Don't know when she'll come back. I was told Thursday, but of course, we thought she would be coming back Monday too and that didn't happen.
