So, today in my school there was a football (not the american, soccer!) championship between my school and other international schools of Athens.
And guess what, the prizes were given by none other than Otto Rehhagel (german trainer who lead the Greek national team to victory in the last european championship) and Rivaldo (I don't need to explain that, do I?).
Well, long story short I managed to get two autographs from each.
I gave one of Rehhagel's to my friend and one of Rivaldo's to my little cousins, who were really happy about it! ^-^
The other two I'm keeping for myself and my little brother, who already told me he's going to faint at the phone. xD
What about you?
Do you have any autographs from celebrities or other people you idolize?
I have signed pictures by Colin Baker and Sophie Aldred and a novel signed by Neil Gaiman.
I have some other things, but didn;t get 'em signed directly myself.
You know, its funny. I can only recall one autograph back in 1991 when i went to a Yankees ballgame. I need to see who that guy was actually, i cant remember. other than that, i've actually been close to many popular people and those who play sports, just never asked for an autograph. For example, i went to a nascar race in Charlotte with my father and rich uncle. My uncle got us helicoptered in... yeah, he didnt want to wait in traffic was his excuse. well at the landing site was a few drivers, like Jeff Burton, Rusty Walace and a couple others who i cant remember their names. That Jeff Burton guy was standing right next to me, and i didnt realize it.
Anywho, yeah, not an autograph type of person i guess. Just a handshake and hello is good enough for me.
Galagher's autograph here.
Plus, I got the signatures of several NY Giants players for my uncle last year, when I worked at the theater. :p
I have the autograph of Sylvester Macoy somewhere in my room, the guy who played the 7th Doctor on the BBC TV Sci-Fi series "Doctor Who". Saw him at a Who convention once.
I also have a signed copy of the book "Anne Droyd at Century Lodge" by Manchester author Will Hadcroft...because the guy happens to be a good friend of mine and I helped proof read the book before publication ">
Think that's all for me, I don't really collect autographs much.
I have the autographs of the entire band 10 Years.
I got the chance to meet them at a concert, and they were signing autographs, so I went with it.
Don't really care for them, though.
the only autographs i have are those that other people have gotten and given to me.
do signed pictures count too? i've a few by some comic artists when i managed to drudge up the courage to ask for one. *reminded to frame up that picture by the Bone artist guy*
My sister has a copy of the Grimmerie (spellbook from Wicked) signed by Idina Menzel, original broadway Elphaba and my sister's idol. ^^ And I have a pair of Neil Peart-signed drumsticks. Craig gets credit for both 8D
We also have the autographs of about half the cast of Avenue Q. There's someone else, too, but I'm really not remembering. >_o
On a random note, when I was 10, I performed in a lot of shows. After one of them, a set of teenagers walked over to me and asked for my autograph o.o First and probably the last time ^^
~Shadowed Spirit Sage
Jason Marx and Robert Lopez (creators of Avenue Q - photo in my LJ gallery if you don't believe me ;))
Bobby Charlton (footballer)
Jason McAteer (footballer)
The entire central cast of Red Dwarf
Brad Dourif
John Barrowman
Anthony Stewart Head
Richard Kiel and Blanche Ravel (Jaws from the Bond movies, and his love interest)
Walter Koenig (Star Trek)
George Takei (Star Trek)
Neil Gaiman
Terry Pratchett
Peter S. Beagle (author of The Last Unicorn)
Robin Jarvis (author)
Danny Strong (Jonathan, the Nerds of Doom, BtVS)
Christopher Lee
Tony Lee (Ultimate X-Men writer - but it helps that we've gone to the same LARP group for about eight years now. :))
And of course, several pieces of correspondence, a personalised copy of #134 and a signed sketch from Jonathan Gray. 😉
And a few other bits and pieces that not having gotten to sleep until 5am isn't letting me remember right now, since my collection's mostly packed away whilst my bedroom's being redecorated.
Great collection, Sam... wow.
I have Anthony Rapp's autobiography signed (that's Mark from RENT). Also, a copy of the Sonic X comic #1, signed by Joe Edkin, the writer. There's a band called Zox that's fairly big in this area, and I have their album and a T-Shirt. I don't think I have anything else.
Destinys child signed my shirt
and Raven simone signed my nike
Does that count even if it's not on paper? o.o
a pc with a picture of charles on it
what an irony
I have autographs from Monica Rial(Hyatt from Excel Saga) (I met her in an elevetor and even got hugged o.O), Richard Ian Cox (Inu Yasha from Inu Yasha, but more importantly to me, Ranma-kun from Ranma 1/2), Scott McNeil(Proto Man from the Ruby Spears animation, Duo Maxwell, Rattrap/Dinobot, Principal Kuno from Ranma 1/2, the list goes on for like a foot and a half in this font), the lady who played Shippu in Inu Yasha and the guy who produced Ranma 1/2. I keep all the papers in a tin. I got em all at the same convention, way back in 2004.
Also, though it wasn't autographed to me personally unlike the above ones...I DID manage to procure an old newspaper sports section commemorating when Pete Rose broke the previous home run record, complete with his signature on it in blue marker(I can tell it's real because the ink is bleeding, I seriously need to get it deacidified and encapsulated)
^^ And I have a pair of Neil Peart-signed drumsticks. Craig gets credit for both 8D
HOW DO I BECOME CRAIGS GIRLFRIEND!?
I envy Sam.
Not for her huge list, but for Jaws alone.
Myself, I only have one of an Australian Rules footballer. (Shane Crawford, if that means anything to anyone.)
He was very, very nice - a real gentleman. I get the automatic advantage of novelty value when walking around a US convention that the guests're usually curious as to what a Brit's doing all the way out there, so they tend to stop me and ask me questions.
Richard Kiel and Blanche Ravel spent about fifteen minutes telling me how nice a time they were filming in Wales was. 🙂
I also have a signed copy of the book "Anne Droyd at Century Lodge" by Manchester author Will Hadcroft...because the guy happens to be a good friend of mine and I helped proof read the book before publication
I have that book. You know the author?
*is very curious* o____o
David Gilmour (signed solo album)
Ken Penders (signed SatAM DVD boxset)
That alone is enough for me.

Yup, we've been friends for a long while^^ Both of us have always been interested in writing and Sci-Fi, and both of us have always wanted to get a book published. And he actually managed it too, lol. He's actually the guy that took me to the Doctor Who convention where I got my Sylvester Macoy autograph too...he was covering the event for a magazine he used to write for at the time, and is an avid Dr. Who fan to boot.
He's also got a number of sequels in the works too. He's between publishers at the moment I think, but once all of that gets sorted out, look out for more Anne Droyd books out there ">
Off the top of my head Simon Furman, who wrote a majority of the TF comics.
Now that I think about it, I think I have an autographed poster of Keith Harris somewhere. That's it though.
As mentioned, I snagged Idina Menzel and Neil Peart's autographs (Neil's was a prize at a Rush convention, I met Idina for hers) and gave them to a pair of siblings in a distant land who would worship them more than I.
For myself, I have Jonathan Gray signed Archie 134 and a Joe Edkin Sonic X #1 and Terry Pratchett's as a Christmas gift from a friend.
Only one I obtained personally, which I still possess, is the War of the World's CD and DVD by Mr. Jeff Wayne. Such a nice bloke, he wrote crazy little messages which overuse the term "oola!"
I'm not a fan of autographs, despite my collector personality. The only one I'd like is Tom Defalco and Mark Bagley's. They were responsible for Amazing 400 and require love and respect for it.

Heh, I remember when you got that.
Famous people really don't hang out in Wichita, so I don't have any autographs. Ooh, Bill Cosby came once to preform but I coundn't go.
Sam, you have Chekov? You lucky thing!
I have a Sophie Aldred signed photo. On the books front I have Mike Nelson's "Movie Megacheese" autographed and Gary K Wolf's "Who Censored Roger Rabbit?"
I also have the sequel autographed, though not to me. Same goes for one of the Gary Russell Doctor Who New Adventures, although I can't remember which one at the moment. Possibly one with the Ice Warriors.
Generally I'm too shy to ask people for autographs - that and I live in a boring place where interesting people don't visit!
DW
Prudy, is that a real penguin?!
Sam, you always beat me to these posts. >_<
Me? I am one of unfortunates to have nothing.
*blink* And one of the things I forgot about is the two signed Pratchetts on my bookshelf and the fact that Jeff Smith signed my penultimate volume of Bone and gave me a sketch with it...
I don't like in anywhere exciting either, DW - that's one reason why I like to occasionally go to places where things happen.
(And George Takei was at the same event, which is another thing I forgot to add to the list... *eyeroll*)
I have an autograph of timmy mallet :D, but i can't seem to find it atm D:
He made a guest appearance at an end of year party at my university one year - although he wasn't signing autographs.
Cast it into the flames, Creo. Timmy Mallet will never die as long as people remember him. Like Kruger, only alot scarier.
A work colleuge pulled up his podcast a few months back and said it literally upset him, because it was just soooo pathetic.
I have Scott O'Grady's autograph on a ball cap I was 9 at the time. I told him I was a Catholic too and he signed "God Bless" lol...
I think that's all I have, sadly...
Craig, Timmy Mallet saved a woman's life when she fell into Hartlepool harbour. Therefore he rocks And anyone who actually lives near Teesside (land of my fathers) is a god
Sam, you have Chekov *and* Sulu? I may die.
DW
Oh my gosh! What in the world is Timmy up to now? And that hammer dude, Pinky Punky, I wonder?
