Michael J. Fox is heading Back To The Future for a fourth time-traveling movie. The actor, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, admits he's in negotiations for a final film in the series - but only if they make his character as old as he is in real life. The former Spin City star wants to take over Christopher Lloyd's eccentric scientist character, Doc, in the sequel. He tells movie website Moviehole.net, "The only way it would work would be if I played Doc. I'm 44-years-old now and I'm not interested in running around on skateboards! I think after 1, 2 and 3 we all kind of felt we had done it. And I think if they did it again now they would do it with a younger cast and just do a different realisation of it, which would be fun."
I'd be okay with this, but ONLY if Christopher Lloyd is still around... Lloyd IS Doc. Fox is McFly, not Doc. He could work as a Doc character in the future, I guess (since it doesn't look like he'll have quite the same job he was depicted as having in BttF2), but you can't just replace Emmet Brown's past appearances with Marty McFly's actor, darnit, doesn't work that way, and would totally wreck it...
Beautiful sig, SH. It really reflects what I think.
The series ended when the time machines were all destroyed, when Doc found the love of his life and when Marty managed to change both the future and present for the better. How can you continue it?
And for that matter, Marty never seemed the type who would be that crazy to rebuild the machine after what happened to him. o_O
Sometimes, things just need to remain untampered with. The series ended on a great note and this could really screw it up. Not saying it will, but things of the past should sometimes stay in the past.
Talk about coincidences - I'm listening to the soundtrack right now as I read this thread...
I dunno, could be kinda fun, but they could also entirely ruin my childhood...

I wouldn't be okay with this even if Mr. Lloyd reprised his role in a fourth BttF. What's wrong with keeping it as a trilogy? =/ I mean did people actually wished for a fourth BttF?
Also where would they find a DeLorean? Really, I would rather they don't make another, as the last one ended on a great note, as mentioned before.
I do think it is an interesting concept of Marty being as old as Micheal is, really makes a difference then I usually see in movies, but a fourth movie in the Back to the Future trilogy? As a big fan of the BttF series, I'm a bit worried.

This could totally screw up the trilogy, and I hope that they don't actually follow through with this.

Unless you mean the DeLorean was destroyed, there still was one time machine, The Train that Doc had made.
Yeah, how can you forget the train? o.o
