Abort all black babies and cut crime, says Republican

Good grief. But then again, he does have a point on what he says here:

"What I do on our show is talk about things that people are thinking ... we don't hesitate to talk about things that are touchy. I'm sorry if people are hurt, I really am. But we can't say this is an area of American life [and] public policy that we're not allowed to talk about - race and crime."

Again, makes a point. Which brings us back to, if you don't like it, switch it off.

Really though, holy @$!#, on public radio, no less. Guy's got some balls. No brains, but definately some balls.

My goodness. The mere fact that he said it (even though he clearly stated it would be morally rephrensible to abort black babies) is the equivalent of a political death wish. He's got moxy, that's for sure.

But even so, it's a stupid suggestion/comment/string-of-words. Killing black babies to reduce crime? Even IF (and that's a big IF) the statistics pointed that this would be true, that still doesn't make it right. Stupid stupid stupid.

However, the immediate knee-jerk reaction to this comment is rather telling. Anyone remember Bill Clinton saying that he wanted a 'national conversation on race?'

Apparently, that's not going to happen in the near future, if there's going to be sudden reactions like this (even if they're well-deserved). I've already seen articles taking the quote out of context. Bleh.

Stupid idea Mr. Bennet. Shoulda kept your mouth shut.

Dude, half the posts in every election 2004 thread I participated in boiled down to "I'm voting Bush because he allegedly has bigger balls than Kerry." Remember?

I didn't click the link to read the article, but I heard some of his comments yesterday. I still find it hilariously funny. ^_^

People should find the websites that claim abortion really is a modern day attempt at genocide of Black people. 🙂

That reminds me. After my mass of tech repulsions against that one pro-life guy harassing one of relatives. He removed all mention of her and her kids from his page. Battle won. Don't mess with the B.A.F.H. o.-

Back on topic!

You can find anything on the internet. This however... EL OH EL! XD

And Ultra, no you didn't wanna see it, it wasn't pretty. I always claimed Bush (The Bush Administration for the vultures) was cutting funding to our programs for the kids. They pushed it off. JOM is now in a trashed out rez house and higher ed is... well, gone. They're looking for a new director and can only offer enough to get any kids that DO make it through public schools enough to goto the local community college for two years. *slaps self* SEE! NEVER mention that! *jumps out a window*

I thought that was AIDS.

Wait, or was that for homosexuals....?

....Dammit, now I can't keep my comspiracies straight! ;___;

As for the comments, geez. I agree that it's probably going to be political suicide. That's the closest to being racist you can get without slinging the N word, IMO. >:/

The saddest part about the whole thing is, I actually have my doubts as to whether this is true. It seems some people will vote Republican no matter how retarded the candidate is.

That statement can apply to practically any political party.

There is a point where Free Speech goes too far and becomes "hate speech".

Although Bennet should NOT have said it, he DID say to do so would be 'morally reprehensible' (and thus saying that he says 'aborting black babies = no-no).

Question is, why say it at all? That's what gets me confuzzled.

I see your point. Which is why I also said 'why say it at all if you don't mean it?'

Oh well. I shall now laugh because of your sarcastic wit. :lol

Overactive Anime Otaku Nerd Problem? Abort Japanese babies!

Nice to see that even in 2005 that there is such a high level of tolerance. :)

Sadly, he does bring up a point I am sure people think, "Crime is committed by all the black peoples!! If they all go away, crime will go down!!"

I'm willing to believe people don't believe this but I wouldn't be shocked either...though if he really wants it to get fixed, fix the poverty and crime will go down...

The ironic thing is that William Bennett is the editor of The Book of Virtues, the same book that my mother always read to me and my two brothers. o.o

I've often discovered that those who tend to scream holy holy holy loudest for the whole world to see are usually the ones who end up "preaching moral virtues" and "wagging thier fingers" to everybody else while at the same time "extolling the greatness of good christian values" by doing all kinds of crap that any other good person would find borderline reprehensible.

Sinning is sinning and we all do it just as much as any other person no more no less, thats why I find this all so unelievably idiotic. But lets PLEASE not turn this into yet another religion debate. -_-

I have heard the (strictly economic) argument that abortion in general (regardless of race) reduces crime because it lowers the number of unwanted babies, who are often raised in lower-income families or unstable family environments.

I think this may be true from an amoral, strictly cause and effect standpoint. I don't think it warrants encouraging abortion. And abortion of ALL kids from one race is horrific.

What "works" is not always what's right.

Cue "A Modest Proposal"...

And you know, from the little bit I heard of Bennet's comments, THAT was actually his point.

Hence, I find the uproar to be funnier than the comments themselves.

So, let's see...
Say a greater proportion of crime in the US is committed by black people than white people (ignoring the fact one of the most common crimes in the US compared to other countries is, in fact, tax evasion, for which the imbalance is if anything probably the other way)
Consider that there are propably larger numbers if black people in poverty than white people in the US (as far as I'm aware)
Could there possibly be some connection?

I know! We'll stop poor people having babies! Problem solved!

Or not.

I thought gay marriage was the conspiracy against homosexuals?

although maybe criminals aren't bad at all, just underpaid. Would they need to steal if they could buy the nice shiny things themselves?
No, but they probably would anyway out of boredom or something, hmm there's an Idea, let's execute everyone with enough spare time on their hands of attend internet forums

Taking anyones words out of context in order to distort them does no one any good.

but if anyone is really interested in racism and abortion, just look at the founder of Planned Parenthood. She had an idea that if birth control were made available to black women then white people would "outbreed" the "undesireables".

But race is just a social construct anyways.
