Whats your favorite 80s cartoon series? Mine has always been Captain N. I have been waiting for the DVD for so long, thankfully they just started selling it.
lol i wasn't alive back then
...
Thats even a little far back for me. I guess TECHNICALLY Rescue Rangers was an 80's cartoon since it ran in 89. But geez, my minds a void from 91 back. I remember transformers, gummi bears, and voltron, thats about it.

I was born in 87, but I didn't actually start remembering stuff until I was 4. Still, there are reruns of 80s cartoon shows that went on throughout the 90s (which stopped in the 00s sadly) =(
ohh i remember inspector gadget rescue rangers and danger mouse! (thank god for re-runs) and tom&jerry ah back when violence on cartoons was a daily thing.....
Being born in 87, I only remember some of the old 80s shows, mostly through repeats in the early 90s. I'd have to say Ducktales was my favourite by far though.
Like GT and OTB, I was born in '87, so I only know of the 80s shows from tapes and reruns.
I have to say that I am a huge fan of "The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin," "Ducktales," "Transformers," "My Little Pony," and "Care Bears."
does anyony remember Rupert? im not sure if he was in the 80's... but i grew up watching that show
My favorite 80s cartoon at the time would've been Inspector Gadget. I loved that show when I was a kid for some reason. As for now, I can't think of an 80s cartoon I'd be very likely to want to watch currently.
Inspector Gadget, Dinosaucers, New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, DuckTales, and Rescue Rangers.
Go-Bots, Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario Bros. 3 were on my watch lists but those were pretty much purely because I liked the toys and games.

You mean Rupert the Bear? If so, I used to watch that all the time.
Oh wow. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would have to take the cake for favorite 80s cartoon. If only for Bebop and Rocksteady. XD Those two always cracked me up. And KRAAAAANG. Oh, and I love the intro.
I watched the 30-minutes-of-80s-openers and the 90's one after that and I'm, like, ready to cry with "WTF happened to good cartoons?!"

If it was on Disney, I loved it.
So losing cable kind of sucked back then...haha
Transformers.
And Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I'd have to go with Chip N'Dale, Rescue Rangers...
I had a stuffed Chip that I would sleep with every night.
It's a toss up between Transformers and G.I. Joe for me.
ohh i use to watch G.I. Joe... i useto have like a bunch of the action figures... and i think i still do somewere...packed in a box gathering dust for my kids
I watched most of the shows already mentioned, but wait a minute.....No one here watched Muppet Babies?
You all make me sad. 🙁
Muppet Babies was 80's? If so, I used to watch that religiously as a kid. ^^
~Shadowed Spirit Sage
so did i......re-runs
1st season was great stuff, but the later seasons were pretty lousy. The show started going downhill after the death of Jim Henson.
Ooh, where to begin???
I loved:
+ DangerMouse
+ Count Duckula
+ Most of the Disney Afternoon (although they were Disney Club over here on a Saturday & Sunday morning) - DuckTales, Chip 'n' Dale, some Gummi Bears
+ Mysterious Cities of Gold
+ Inspector Gadget
+ Dungeons & Dragons
+ Tiny Toon Adventures (I *think* that started 1989)
+ Dogtanian
+ Willy Fog
+ Thundercats
+ She-Ra
+ He-Man
I love that the kids of the eighties now have disposable income - helloooo boxsets I just picked up the complete Mysterious Cities of Gold - in French, as that's the only version available unless I want to learn Japanese.
1980s and early 1990s were the second golden age for animation.
A nostalgic DW
Oh my holy god. My mind must have been blown that day. that or I'm merging the 80's and 90's again.
Thundercats and TMNT. Hands down. RR's was more 90's, why? Because thats when I saw it. :p

Even though I wasnt born then, I will always love the original Transformers.
Like some other forumers born in '87, I, too, have only seen 80's cartoons through reruns and what-not. Some of my faves were:
Inspector Gadget <3
TMNT <3
Ducktales <3
The Real Ghostbusters
Garfield and Friends
Chip and Dale : RR
I also remember I used to watch Muppet Babies and Care Bears as well.
Dangermouse all the way.
Transformers
Most have been said like TMNT and Rescue Rangers (barely making the cut being partly 90s, but still awesome). I also watched It's Punky Brewster and the Smurfs regularly. Had the cups from the resterant promo and a stuffed toy. I wanted a tattoo like Hefty (the strong one) hoping it would make me braver. Ma put the kibosh on that plan. She said tattoo parlors would give me AIDS. She's a bit protective but means well.
Duck Tales and Chip & Dale.
I had Chip and Dale underwear when I was 4.
Is it wrong of me to admit I still have the Rescue Ranger plushes of Chip 'n' Dale? Thank you, Downtown Disney!
DW
Need I say more?
Also He-Man, Dino-Riders and Denver the Last Dinosaur come to mine. Hey did David the Gnome start in the 80's or was that 90's..and btw when is that coming out on DVD -.-..?
{Yes no NEED to remind me that the Swords hilt is screwed up -.-, Still waiting for the day when I can get another..}
Rescue Rangers.Uhhh Rocko's Modern Life. I think Kablam was part of 80's. And Angry Beavers. There are tons more but their names escape me.

well being born in 1989, i can safely reassure you that they weren't, i watched the first episodes. (man that brings me back)
i really loved angry beavers. i want box sets, but as far as 80's reruns go i remember almost everything that was mentioned. i miss them.
I'll shamelessly copy all of DW's list, along with Ulysses 31 (I miss intertextual depth these days 🙁 ), Alias the Jester and Willo the Wisp. 🙂
the thirteen ghosts of scooby-doo!, re-runs, also teenage mutant ninja turtles!
Somehow, I managed entirely to miss Ulysses 31, although reliable sources tell me that it referenced Mysterious Cities of Gold a few times. I still can't get over the theme music in the background of the Gadget episode where they're looking for a city of gold. It is the Gadget themetune, but entirely in the style of the MCoG soundtrack. Absolutely priceless!
DW *still forlornly searching for the Inspector Gadget LP*
