Right now, I'm discovering Smallville via the season sets. The first season's episodes are entertaining although they are quite formulaic.

Other than that, I watch stuff on Cartoon Network but that's about it. I'm not a fan of television.

Mythbusters, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, and any other special that I can catch on the discovery channel. I just feed on that stuff.

EDIT: other shows that I watch but forgot about:
South Park
Malcolm in the middle
Teen Titans
Family Guy
Futurama
X-Play (not really but it's kinda funny sometimes)
'das it.

I don't really watch TV that much. My favorite shows are Survivor, My Name Is Earl, and Seinfeld. I've been watching Survivor for years, but I'm starting to lose interest in it and I'm not sure why I still watch it.

I rarely watch TV. I occasionally catch glimpses of Family Guy, Futurama, and shows of that nature when my brother or sister watch them. I'll sometimes sit down and watch South Park, but I don't go out of my way to watch it.

The only show I will actually stay and watch the whole episode of is Law and Order. I don't understand why. Original series, CI, SVU.... Stupid court shows. As soon as I sit down and watch the first few minutes, I'm hooked for the rest of the hour. Heck, even if I walk in in the middle and don't understand what's going on, I'm stuck. I can't leave until I see what happens at the end.

So I say once again. Stupid court shows. XD

My favorite shows:

The Amazing Race
Transformers (the original and Beast Wars)
Mythbusters (when I actually remember it airs on Wednesdays :p )

and some other shows that I manage to watch when the tube's on (which is mostly stuff from GSN, Animal Planet, Discovery and the random show in another channel).

Guilty pleasures mostly:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I now own the seven season set, thank you Lee Hiley)
Freaks and Geeks (bring it back!)
Any competitive figure skating event on TV.

I haven't watched a new show on TV in years. I really don't have time anymore. I liked the first season of America's Next Top Model, but I think that was two or three years ago now.

Admittedly, the only shows I even remotely watch regularly are Fullmetal Alchemist (almost to the last episode!), and Star Trek: The Next Generation re-runs. Can't say as much interests me these days, so I don't really watch a lot of TV, as you can see.

No love for Malcolm in the Middle? Well, here's my all time favourites:

Angel
Buffy
Firefly
Lost
Seinfield
The Simpsons
Monkey
Malcolm in the Middle
Now and Again
Tru Calling
X-Files
Sliders

I've been following Everybody Hates Chris too. But I wouldn't list it as a favourite, because it's like a less funny version of Macolm in the Middle (not saying it's bad). Angel is my absolute favourite TV series. This show deserved more attention than Buffy! ='(

Knight Rider has to be one of my all time faves - I just love the idea of a car that drives and parks itself. Plus KITT has a great personality and his interaction with Michael Knight is a source of much amusement at times. That and all the action stuff and the great 80's soundtracks make for a great nostalgia trip for me.

I'm watching Due South most nights - gotta love that wolf!

Cartoon-wise Animaniacs is hysterical, Darkwing Duck is great for its mix of comedy and characters (yes, character development does happen from time to time!) and with Danger Mouse you just have to wonder whether the writers spent too much time with the animators, inhaling paint fumes. Duckula is great for the voice characterisations and the travelling Castle - plus I'd love to be able to relocate in a flash of lightning and roll of thunder :)

I guess most of my faves are therefore pretty much fantasy-based, escapist stuff - just what you need after a long day at work!

I forgot that show. But yea, I generally watch that, too. I just don't watch a whole lot of TV though.

Angel is my absolute favourite TV series. This show deserved more attention than Buffy! ='(

Although I much perfer Buffy (great show) more, I have a soft spot for Angel as well. Both are equally good in their own ways.

Simplest distinction is Angel is darker in outlook than Buffy (evidence - see both final episodes...) Essentially, if you prefer darker storylines, Angel is generally preferable to Buffy, and vice versa.

Personally, I don't tend to watch vast amounts of TV while at uni (too much else fun to do), but will watch a fair amount on holidays (too little else "fun" to do). I enjoy Buffy, Angel and Firefly - Joss Whedon is a very refreshing storyteller compared to a lot of other shows - Babylon 5 - a true epic storyline, which could have been so much better without interference from networks, etc. - as well as various cartoons, other sci-fi shows and various documentaries. In terms of currently running shows over in the UK, however, I enjoy watching Countdown, mostly for the puzzle-solving element, and Deal or No Deal, partially for the mathematical side, and partially just for seeing how people approach the situation. Most other things depend on mood, and so on.

There were a few seasons of Buffy I didn't like at all (4,5,7), and ultimately I feel it went longer than it should have. With Angel, I love every single season.

Yeah I do like darker storylines. I like the 4th season of Angel the best and that was probably the darkest in my opinion.

Anyone notice TV these days have to have quirky characters? Like we don't just get cop shows, we get a blind cop show (Blind Justice), a detective with OCD (Monk) or a doctor who hates people (House MD)? It's gotten to the point where there's so many cop/law/doctor shows that they need to come up with something unique that can be explained in a commercial without much difficulty.

I do agree Season Four of Buffy was lackluster at best and I did admit at that time that Season Five and the way it ended, I thought it would have best if it ended in that way. I managed to watch Season 6 and 7 though and generally liked it...especially the musical. Gawd, I love musicals.

Or you could just watch 'The Shield', which is far and away the best cop show of the last decade. No gimmicks save for the fact that it's far more raw and brutal than all the others on TV (especially that CSI crap).

Season 4 of Buffy was was pretty weak, but it had it's high points. "Wild at Heart" - Oz's departure. "Hush" - 30 minutes of total silence. "This Year's Girl" - return of Faith. "New Moon Rising" - Oz's return and the real beginning of the Tara/Willow storyline. "Restless" - one of the best episodes ever.

I think what ruined the season was the lame Initative/Adam storyline and of course the Aw Gee Golly Shucks, Riley boyfriendthing. I hate that guy. Marc Blucas is a terrible actor.

After season two Angel bored the hell out of me. I liked the final episode, but every other time I tuned in during the last season there were too many new characters for me to keep up with.

Hush was one of the best Buffy episode...EVER. As was Restless. Gotta love the Cheese Man.

Exactly. Both Adam and Riley never appealed to me. Riley alone was a very boring character.

Don't watch a lot of TV really. My favorite shows that are still running currently are, in no particular order:

24
NCIS
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis
Battlestar Galactica (new series)

Haven't been watching it long, but Mythbusters seems pretty decent as well. I like the others on that list quite a bit better, but I'm liking most of what I've seen of it so far. I used to like the various CSI shows a decent amount, but I've really been losing interest in them lately. Still watch them just because there isn't much else to watch, but I don't know how much longer I plan to.

As for favorite shows that aren't on any more, I still really like Star Trek Deep Space Nine and the later seasons of the Next Generation. I also liked what I've seen of the original Trigger Happy TV quite a bit if I remember right, but I completely lost all interest in it when they added additional (lousy) cast members. (which was actually different version of the show altogether I think)

I know exactly what you mean. Truth is, I never watched Angel until after Buffy finished. Somebody lent me a DVD box-set, and I got hooked. But when it was on TV, I was never able to keep up and had no idea what was going on. That's probably a big reason why it was never as popular. Season 4 especially was tight, you HAD to have seen the every episode to know what was going on.

Buffy is the kind of series you can jump into at any episode.

Not to me. I do it all the time, but that's usually because I need background noises whenever I'm in my room doing whatever. Silence scares me.

Only one mention for 24?! Crikey! Anyway in no order...

24
The Simpsons
Futurama
Family Guy
Red Dwarf
Spaced (only 1 season in so far though).
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Angel
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
GamesMaster (OK it's very old but still...)
Malcolm In The Middle
The A-Team
The Apprentice (both US and UK, but the US one is better.)
Deal Or No Deal (!)
Azumanga Daioh (does it count if it wasn't on TV in the UK?)
Excel Saga (ditto)

Let's see, I watch TV when I can- but I like a lot of stuff. Old and New. Present and Discontinued. Here it is...now- with descriptions and updates daily!

o nip/TUCK
Definitally a must. nip/TUCK is a show I am hooked to the bone on. The series keeps you guessing, and hell I've been suprised by so many outcomes in the show thus far. I absolutely love it.

o Law and Order: Special Victims Unit
Agreed, it's a Cop show dealing with the victims of one of the worse crimes someone could commit- it's stories are compelling and twisted at times. Not as Grim as nip/TUCK can be, but I love it. Heck, I remember there was a episode where it you could vote in the verdict. This show is guilty with greatness. Case Closed.

o Family Guy
Does this one need to be explained? Absolutely more original than the Simpsons. It's constant badgering of tough issues many debate is really amusing. And the movie/TV show refrences are quite hillarious. I love this show.

o Firefly
I really just got into this series. Haven't seen the movie yet- shame for me... but I like what I've seen. Though I have seen so little. A great show.

o I Love the...
I Love the 80s, or the 70s, or even the 90s: it is just a show I will watch over and over again. I love it. I can't say much about it, but yeah- heh. I wonder what I love the 00's is going to be like in the future when we pass this decade. =)

o The Shield
I suppose if you really love Cop Shows, and Grim storylines with no holds barred- this is for you. It is absolutely great. But not one of my absolute fav's. Just want to mention this show.

o Neon Genises Evangelion
I have the Box-Set and have watched it so many a-times. I understand it, and will never loose affection for it. Its a great Anime, really.

o My Name is Earl
Do I have to say why? It's just absolutely hillarious and grade A amusement. I've seen not much of it, but I do love what I've seen.

o John Doe
Like Earl this shoe amuses me. Not meant to be funny- but the show revolves around a guy who can't remember who he is- but knows anything and everything else. How to fly? Got it. How to make a Atomic Bomb? Got it. How someone died? Got it. Great Show!

o Stargate
A long running movie-spinoff... I love this show. With o'Neal or the new guy. I think I don't have to explain it here.

o Batman
Really, Im talking about the newest cartoon. The Bat, or The Batman- something of that like. But it is a great show, but still I'll take the old one to t

...and theres a helluva more. Ranges from Cartoon to Comedy to Drama to Sci-Fi...meh.

No mentions of Firefly? You lot diappoint me....

Anyways....
Doctor Who
I'm not sure how many of you know this, but I'm not really a fan of many things. As such. I like so many different things, y'see, that I don't really have enough time to devote to any one of them.
This is my one true fandom.
Yes, it's patchy as hell. Yes, the speical effects used to be somewhat useless. But this series has more originality and imnagination than anything else I've run across on television, and has been shamelessly plagiarised by everything from Star Trek to The Matrix.

Twin Peaks
Many of the shows you gys have mentioned wouldn't exist without this one. This is the show that made people take television seriously as a medium by comparison with film. Without it, we'd probably be without Buffy, CSI, 24, X-Files and in fact pretty much any major original American serial of the 90s you can name.
Plus, it was co-written and half-directed by David Lynch. Who is my favourite director.

Firefly
Josh Whedon's best work to date, outstripping Buffy and Angel in depth, acting, quality of writing, humour, plot and detail. Very, very high-quality tv; there's just not a lot of it.
The film, Serenity, goes with the series.

Neon Genesis Evangelion
I'm sure I don't need to explain this one.

Slayers/NEXT/TRY
Ditto

Outlaw Star
Basically Slayers in space, which really ain't a bad thing.

The 10th Kingdom
Amusing, visually pretty and mature-audience-targeted fantasy min-series. A nice little rarity.

Buffy/Angel
Not Firefly, but the next best thing. I actually got into them because of it.

Batman: the Animated Series
This one's just the Batman nut in me.

Honorable mentions: Dangermouse, Count Duckula, Invader Zim, Angel Lynx, Full Metal Alchemist, Tom and Jerry(original), Pink Panther Show (original), Red Dwarf, Family Guy, Frasier

And I'm really looking forward to Masters of Horror starting to come out on DVD here in a week's time.

A while ago, but I haven't watched that show in a while. It's fast becoming one of those shows I watch purely out of boredom then a favorite nowadays. Jack Spicer seems to be the only thing I care for in that show.

I love adding to this stuff.

Ripped directly from my site (with a couple additions), there's more than this on my list, but these are the ones that stand out that I remember. If I tried to list everything, we'd be here for weeks.

Favorite TV shows of the past:
Press Your Luck, WHAMMY!: The All New Press Your Luck, Card Sharks, American Gladiatiors, WMAC Masters, Mystery Science Theater 3000, WCW, ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling), Win Ben Stein's Money, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Friends, Street Smarts

Favorite current TV shows:
The Amazing Race, WWE, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, The O.C., MXC: Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, Desperate Housewives, Deal or No Deal, How I Met Your Mother

And there you have it. Mostly game shows, yes, but I have some outside ones. Feel free to have at me.
