ok now that FMA is over what did you guys think?

personally, i liked the ending with al being back in his original body and at least Ed was with Hoeinheim in london.

i've also heard there's a movie in the works that continues the story so that's good.

I personally thought it was a very fitting conclusion to a good anime. Unfortunately, I missed a few episodes, so it's reruns for me. (hunkers down)

It's less a movie in the works, and more a movie being translated for a release come October. It's already out in Japan, of course.

Anyway, I thought Envy's normal form was pretty suave for a 400-year-old, but of course, him hating Hohenheim, we barely get to see any of it. Oh well... Not like it matters.

In conclusion:

I finished the series a long while ago, thanks to fansubbing. I don't like the American voices at all.

Uh.. good ending. Definitely not what I expected, but very good. I don't know what they're gonna do with Wrath. He seems like a real traumatized, dysfunctional kid now, I wonder how long they can manage to live with him normally. He seems to me like a ticking bomb.

The movie is called Conqueror of Shambala. Trailers are all over the internet.

I thought the ending was good for FMA. It was a very good anime, but I'm like Ultra; I missed some episodes as well.

I just had a question, though... what was the deal with Dante? Did she want to use the Philosopher's Stone (Al) to jump into Rose's body or her kid's?
When did Rose have a kid? And what was the deal with him, because Dante used him to send Ed to London in the early 20th century, where Hohenheim was?

Dante wanted immortality. She was going to use Rose's body as a means; mostly because she wanted to romance with Hohenheim's son (Ed), since Hohenheim was content with Tricia, dead or otherwise, and didn't truly love Dante herself. Rose seemed like a fitting person, since Ed knew her already.

Rose had a kid between the initial uprising in Lior (around about Ed and Al's invasion of Lab 5, IIRC - I definitely know Hughes was narrating it to Mustang, so it was before Envy killed 'im) and when Ed came to prevent Scar from sacrificing Lior (when he found her a mute and with child, not to mention that Scar wanted to sacrifice the military, not Lior.) General consensus is, the military abused her (read: rape) and the trauma left her mute and with a child she didn't exactly want but didn't feel like getting rid of, even though that wasn't explicitly stated.

Dante SUMMONED the gate with the kid. The kid wasn't used in the transmutation whatsoever - AFAIK. Hence, why she was able to summon it several times - sending Hohenheim over, sending Ed over, and summoning it to rip Ed's limbs back off of Wrath, which incidentally is when Ed came back.

SH you really did your homework. i loved the fight between bradley and mustang, but i thought it was a little too conveinient that his kid came back with the means to defeat him.

but there was something that bothered me, if Fuhrer Bradley was a homonculus then how did he have a kid? wouldn't he be Sterile? or does it not work that way?

of course it's just as possible that he had the kid Before he was killed/died then was revived.

According to the manga (where King Bradley's actually Wrath, not Pride), he's adopted. The anime doesn't really specify.

The thing I didn't like was how it didn't specify his fate. Some people mentioned that you could hear his neck snap, but I didn't hear that... yet it kinda sorta does look like he's a goner. Bummer, but then, he was only filler in the anime, anyway.

Definitely snapped. If you watched on Adult Swim, that's the reason for the double disclaimer.

Great show. It started off rather tame, but with each subsequent episode they continually piled on the drama. Not that the show wasn't without its flaws and plotholes, but for the most part they managed to keep the flow of the plot consistent.

The ending wasn't so much an ending as it was a trailer for the upcoming movie. Other than that, it was fine. Not spec-freakin'-tacular, but fine. The movie has a lot to answer for, so I hope it clears up all the confusion that last ep left us. Comes out in October though... quite the wait.

Bad voices? This isn't 4Kids. I can understand if after having watched the fansub version one would have reservations with the differences, but for the most part the english cast were admirable if not spectacular. Every line was delivered with the full emotional impact that was required by the scene in question, I don't see how anyone could have a problem with that.

^BTW, that wasn't so much a response to Troop as it was a preemptive strike against those who would slander Funi.

For those who can't get enough Fullmetal and haven't already done so, check out the manga. It spirals away from the anime's plot (rather the opposite really, but work with me here) around the halfway mark and goes in an entirely different direction plot-wise. As SH mentioned, Pride is actually Wrath in the manga, and anime Wrath doesn't even exist in print. It's supposed to be the true vision of the story, as depicted by the person who created the manga (the anime's writers took liberties when they ran out of manga to mooch off of).

Indeed.

Plus it's written by a cow with spectacles. You can't get much better than that. *points at avatar, image posted earlier - what, you thought that was totally unrelated? No way, that's the author!*

Admittedly, though, I've not read the manga yet - only watched the anime. What I do know of the manga came from Wikipedia (yay Wikipedia), so I need to go and read the real deal eventually. (Amusingly, apparently Arakawa - the author - WANTED the anime to go off on a tangent when it did, perhaps to keep things interesting - even if she's publicly stated that it didn't exactly end the way she wanted it to.)

Ditto.
I thought the ending was... interestingly open-ended, but I would be disappointed if they weren't making the film. Too nonconclusive gets to me.

I was honestly going to ask that if it was right or not to post it here, but I for some reason decided not to at the last minute -_-;

...I've seen the movie. No, seriously, I have.

And I have one thing to say. A major, major, major spoiler.

Do cover your ears.

Movie Al is cuter than Ed. Way cuter.

...What? You wanted real spoilers?

You'll have to AIM me. :p

It's the kitties. Seriously.

I thoroughly enjoyed this anime. Anything I would want to say, though, has already been said. **is sad**
