I thought that was the crappy live action 70's series until I saw the mech. What the hell?! Suddenly Sesame Street Spidey and Spider-Man the Stage-Show seem tame in comparrison.

Well, the Stage-Show is still on par with that. Shouting "YOU MADE MY SPIDEY SENSE TINGLE!" and clocking a guy is still the greatest thing ever.

PS: Peppy, what's the origin of your avatar? It has the ORB uniform of stitched awesome, thusly chibified Kira/Lacus, thusly pure awesome!

I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned this yet.

1. Iron Man's colours won't be as readily identifiable on another superhero.

2. The whole thing just doesn't have any form of iconic quality to it. The spider motif's too abstract, decoration makes the lines really hard to look at because it looks as though it's giving Parker extra limbs...

It just doesn't work for me.

Thoughts, anyone?

Why does every Spidey death result in a costume change? It didn't work 10 years ago with Ben and it wont work with Mystic Meg Petey.

I'm losing decent Spidey titles to hide behind :(

Heh, I saw pics of that super sentai Spidey years ago on Superherohype, but never saw anything of it in motion. Excellent find. ^^

And as for the "Iron Spidey", well....it looks more like a new symbiote suit than anything of Ironman, hell the armoured Spidey suit reminds me more of Ironman.

I got it from this collection of images. And actually, that ORB uniform embodies everything I hate about Destiny, I just wanted to show Kira being a dick.

Oh Kira was a dick alright, but you leave the uniform out of this!

Thanks for the link! ^.^

Hey! It's the thing from Anime Hell! I actually saw a fragment of an episode of this once...it involves something with a Spiderman giant robot, a train fight and a few other things.

I don't think the Japanese one is all that hilarious. It's a live-action Spider-Man. In Japanese.

*shrug*

It's not any cheesier than any other live-action kids' show. I think his costume looks decent, actually.

As for Iron Spidey.. uh.. I don't read the comics, but... red and gold? What is he now, Communist? 😛 <--- (though that would make an awesome alternative universe scenario, like that one Soviet Superman issue.)

I think the funny part is the robot. Because it's just such a blatant localization cliche. Like having an American version of a Japanese manga that turns all the characters into buff superheroes wearing spandex.

Yeah as if Athrun hadn't lost enough dignity, he then had to wear one of those awful clown suits.

;_; not you too!

I hated Destiny too, I hated Athrun and "Neo" switching to ORB, and I hated... well I hated everything ORB did, said or thought during the series! But...

...

Nope. I've got nothing.

By the by, have either of you two seen the editted ending to Destiny, where Shinn gets the chance to punch Kira in the face and kick him in the balls and DOESN'T, Athrun-Meyrin becomes canon and nothing much else happens?

You hated that they had Neo join Orb, but I hated that they brought "him" back in the first place. Way to bring a cool character back from the dead, and make him suck. Akatsuki is a good MS for him though, in the grand style of Char's golden Hyaku Shiki which I'm proud to have a 1/100 model of.

But Sting is given the award for the most useless return from the dead ever.

Yeah I saw Final-Plus. I like the part where they insert Athrun into the final stand-off with Kira, Dullinal, Talia and Rey and have him do nothing important at all. Definitely made it worth downloading. 😛

I'm glad Athrun and Meyrin seem to be an official couple. Cagalli never seemed right for him. I was more into Cagalli and Kira, but thanks to episode 39's developments that was given a good kick in the old Skywalker balls.

Ya know I THOUGHT Athrun wasn't in there originally, but I was thinking "why bother adding him if he does nothing at all...?"

and though I agree that Cagalli and Athrun aren't meant to be, it pisses me off that they'd waste 30 odd episodes of sidestory on a relationship that doesn't pan out. It's like Meer being in the series when all she does is die... AND GET A FLASHBACK EPISODE TO HERSELF!

I'm trying to think of one part of Destiny I liked which didn't involve my model building hobby, and I'm failing. The suits were stupidly overpowered and even look crap in their 100 form. Just release the extra parts for PG Strike and then bury SEED. I loved the original series, but MAN did Destiny hurt me.

The best part of Destiny was the OSTs, of course. ;)

Flashbacks episodes and constantly re-used animation makes me wonder what Fukuda did with all the production costs he pocketed. :D

Series three needs a new director and character designer, because Hirai's bishies this series were so ugly (like Jona). *spew*

Well besides "rumours" which will never die, there's been some semi-official statements on the prospect of a third series which may air later this year (probably october again). Cosmic Era is still popular, and Bandai wont let it die as long as they can recolour/redesign old mobile suits for new model-kits that will sell like hot cakes.

Best just to keep an eye on this website: aeug.blogspot.com/

According to the staff that worked on GSD, they all believe Yzak would become the new Chairman of Zaft because he's well liked by the council. 0_0 I only hope they're fired before the third series comes about.

It was only a matter of time before they started using ELECTED officials who aren't old enough to drink. Lord knows every other series of Gundam has had an underage princess of some kind.

I guess I wont complain too much if another series is made, because no matter how much I hated Destiny, I'm invested into the fandom enough to keep getting crapped on and enjoy the righteous fury I can rant up a storm with. It's why I hang around the Sonic fandom for so long, and occasionally I get suprised by that so hopefully there'll be a non-flashback ep if GS3 comes ahead. Or a version of Freedom which can't kill the universe on it's own.

I'll wait and see. Worst comes to worst, all I'm doing is wasting download time, and at the very least I might get a new model or cosplay outfit from the bargain.

I'm starting to think the role of Zaft Chairman is a lot like the Defense Againts the Dark-Arts position in Harry Potter - we're destined to have a new Chairman every series. Oh well the idea of Yzak dying is somewhat appealing.

Kira really **** me in Destiny. Why did they have to bring the Freedom back at all!?! In Zeta Gundam, Amuro who was the main character and ace pilot of the first series didn't have his Gundam anymore (cause it was trashed), and he wasn't as good a pilot as he was in the first series. Plus he even got some decent character development. But Kira being the perfect embodiment of Christ that he is, was just there to have the Freedom own the battlefield. Screw any interesting development they could do with Kira.

I don't care if the next series sucks, because there's still a back-catalogue of older series that have better reputations that I haven't seen.

Except that it involves a show called "Destiny", and not Spider-Man.

Off-topic much? 😛

O_O Why does Spiderman need a giant robot?

*Thinks back to that one toy commercial that insisted that all the major Marvel superheroes (Captain America, Spiderman, Wolverine, and the Hulk???) needed giant robotic bodysuits to fight off Dr. Doom...each sold seperately*

Again, I doubt the Hulk needs gigantic robotic body armor to fight evil, he can just smash stuff to get the job done!

And while searching for Spidey's giant robot on google image search...I found her. Coming soon in Spiderman 4 anyone? Although she did get beaten by the Bombastic Bag-Man aka Peter Parker and is Anna Nicole gone off the deep end...I'd say she has a shot. Anyone? No one?

That's the whole reason that MFC has the tree thread system, we're allowed to go off on tangents here, it's within rules and encouraged. So, NO U!

hehehe, well I bet the plot will be something like this:

Was war, now there isn't. One of the factions create new Gundams stealthily and they get stolen by the other faction, one of which has or will have an emotional attachment to the main character.

Pink haired person will tell everyone what to do.

Many angst.

Giant death beam aims at Earth.

World saved.

People decide war sucks and never to do it again.

2 years later they do it again.

Man, that Spider-Man show really does kinda look a lil' funky. oO;

...I wish I was in a Japanese live-action show where I could summon giant mechs to do battle.

As far as I'm concerned, Carnage Cosmic was still the high point of evil spidey-ish types.
Slightly off-topic, but I like mentioning the guy.

A clip from the show.

As for Destiny, I thought Final Plus was pretty much as good an ending as they could forge from the travesty that was the last quarter of the show. But it still doesn't make up for those last ten episodes. I'm hoping that they'll try to salvage it in the inevitable three movie Special Edition, but to do that they would need to ensure that the entire thing focuses on Shinn, and that means pretty much everything in the third movie would need to be done again from scratch.

Namely, Sting needs to live!

There probably is going to be a third series, and I'm sure it can be good if they distance it from the original as much as possible. Have it set at least ten years after Destiny, and have almost no involvement from the older characters. Well, maybe have Shinn and Luna in minor roles since they got screwed over so badly in Destiny, but nothing more.

ZOMG PEP UNDERMINED THE TREE THREAD SYSTEM.
