Can you believe how pompous Bush is? He's just saying that America can pollute as much as they want because trying to cut down would harm their economy.

You'd have thought that what with Republicans being family-based, they'd have a little more concern for their children and grandchildren's future.

You of all people should know that the whole "family values" thing is just a curtain of bullsh-t the Republicans use to garner the Christian-fundamentalist vote. They don't give three-quarters of a turd about "family values" and "morality" and the "traditional definition of marriage" -- the Republicans are about the rich getting richer, at all costs. They'll do anything to promote economic supremacy, even if it means taking it up the ass from the legion of mindless zombies known as the Christian Right in order to bolster their support. Down with the middle class.

I know that.

And furthermore, the rich can avoid all the health problems that come with pollution because they can afford new lungs.

America and China are the world's two largest polluters. The difference is that China has a growing economy, just the sort of thing you want to see in African countries as well, but America's economy is fully stable and a few pollution controls would hardly slow it down.

America's got all those deserts to spare. Why can't they use more wind farms, solar panels, and all that? Because it costs money to set up.

Harley, show me proof that Carbon Dioxide is pollution.

Air pollution and "greenhouse gasses" are such a political issue not because of legitimate science as sensationalist environmentalists trying to grab headlines.

If you just want to rail on about Bush and Republicans, go ahead, but using such blanket statements as "pollute as much as they want too" is beneath you.

If you want to lower the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere, stop breathing. Refuse to exhale to stop "global warming".

I'm much more worried about oil/energy issues than global warming. I think it's clear that alternative energy uses need to be used more and more so we can be much less dependent on oil.

RU SERIOS??/ Jebus Almighty, you're almost as bad as the 'hayter himself.

As for stopping breathing to lower CO2 levels, there is this other little method that's tried-and-tested. It's called NOT CUTTING DOWN THE AMAZON. But I'll bet you have a smartass answer to that too, huh? Let me guess, it's OK to cut down the rainforests because it owes you money, or it slept with your wife or something?

Not to mention other forms of pollution. Because of our presence, our waste, our overconsumption, our dumping toxins into the water and into the air and into the ground, every known living system on this planet is in decline, and every life support system is in decline. There is not a single scientific, peer-reviewed study in the last 20 years that disputes this fact.
