a few months ago we took in an abandoned cat, only to discover a month later that she was heavily pregnant. since then she's had three kittens and i've adopted one of them for myself when it's old enough to leave her.
(Moogle and kittens have their own journal here, go and look for photos! mine is kitten 2)

those of you familiar with my characters, random comics and etc will know that i find it near impossible to come up with good names for anything, and so i turn to you here with a desperate plea for ideas. ;-;

a request in my journal resulted in three votes of 'Spork', one for 'Pancake' and several almosts for 'Vegeta'.

..but i'm not fully sure if i want to be yelling the first two names at 10pm when the cat has vanished off and it's dinnertime. >>;

any half-way sane ideas? my last pet was a rabbit called frodo, so i'll keep away from LoTR names this time. i cannot garentee i'll definitely pick from any names suggested. ^^;
(no, xag, i'm not calling him Windolene! :p )

Montblanc, mebbe? That's the main Moogle character's name from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Tergonaut also comes to mind - "Tergy" makes for an adorable nickname. *shameless plug*

How about Lucas, or maybe Jimmy! Or... Cory! That's about all I can think of.

    I'm currently veering between 'Ombre' or 'Spork'. (Ombre Spork? that even sound like a cat name? >> )

    I'm afraid to admit that Spork looks like it's sticking to the kitten. ^.^; does he look like a spork to anyone else?

    Nice, I too have a cat named Moogle. Only mine's a dude.

    In any case, Spork actually seems like a good cat name... or Alphonse. >.>

    Go for Spork.

    If any of your friends ask say its from some obscure old cult classic sci-fi show that they won't know of.

    Invader Zim is an obscure old cult classic sci-fi show?

    I thought it was a crappy 90s cartoon that ravening barely-sentient 14-year-old girls rave about constantly and write horrible terrible fanfiction about!

    Spork is good.

    However, having once owned a cat simply named "Moggy", I'm not really qualified to comment on kitty names. 😛

    Why not name it Pillow? You know, because no doubt it's fluffy like a pillow, and soft like a pillow, and granted you won't sleep on her/him but he/she must be amazingly adorable regardless. Plus you have the pillow Fortress to think about, so that way, you have a guardian for it. ;3

    Pillow, the guardian kitten of D00M!

    Well, Spork would sound silly saying it out loud and all if you're trying to call for them...but that depends on if you're letting him be an outdoor cat. Besides, Spork is short and fairly easy to remember, and naturally becomes a handy backup weapon in case someone somehow manages to match your Spork-Fu.

    Or heck, maybe name him Spork-Fu. 😛 So as not to confuse him with actual sporks that you'll be using.

    I dunno, I don't really like "Spork", myself. >_>

    Maybe you could change one letter and name him Spock! 😀

    cats apparently respond better to names ending in an 'ee' sound, so if he ends up as a cat that goes outdoors during the day, i'd end up yelling 'SPORKEEE~!' when calling for him.

    Wait, there was a Spork in Invader Zim? I was thinking much earlier than the 90s.

    There was a Shadow Hog in Zim... although I only learned of this through Googling my own screen name for kicks. I don't think the character was all that remarkable, certainly not enough for me to have named myself after him.

    I demand the kitten be called Gyser, for the love of all that is holy and sacred.

    Plus, it'd send my ego through the roof. =D
