Several times in my history with using Firefox, I have been presented with a dialog box that prompts me to select one of two users from a list. Choosing one will take me to Firefox, with all my sttings and bookmarks and whatnot. Choosing the other will take me to Firefox, minus all my settings and bookmarks. Obviously, this stored information is tied to one of two different "users."
The problem is that both users are called "default," and I have no idea which one's which. Just moments ago, I picked the wrong one, and now I'm stuck without my bookmarks or anything until I get that dialog box again by chance, because I have no idea how to get to it.
Does anybody know how I get to that dialog box? I've checked the help file with no real results.
I had the same problem a while ago (the dialog box, that is; it wouldn't let me choose my default one, complaining about it being in use or somesuch thing). I've mostly gotten around it by now, but still, that was annoying, having to redo my Favorites list...
Never mind, I fixed it. You can get to that dialog box by going to "Run" and entering the following, exactly:
Quote:
"C: Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe" -p
I nevere had that problem until recently. I just unchecked "open dialog box at start" and selected the default. o.o
Yeah, same here SX. Meh, at least tis working again Dirk.
Happens to be me sometimes.
Then I just restart my computer and it works fine.
i find firefox often starts giving me endless 'invalid bitmap' popups at me after using it for about an hour.
it's mysterious ways are indeed a mystery to me. oo glad you fixed your problem.
