NOTE: Can anybody figure out why the search doesn't work for some people?

1 - Type Windows key + F to bring up the search panel. Goto files "All files and folders" and type *sonichqcommunity* into the file name (not text) search. You can do this faster by browsing to the Temporary Internet Files folder. If Windows doesn't let you, browse to the folder that contains the Temporary Internet Files folder and type "/Temporary Internet Files" after the search path. For example, "C: WindowsTemporary Internet Files".

NOTE - IF YOU GET NO SEARCH RESULTS, WINDOWS IS BLOCKING YOUR SEARCH. ANY PERSON WHO IS BROWSING THE MOFO WITH IE HAS SONICHQCOMMUNITY FILES IN THEIR CACHE. Try searching for files named *.gif and see if any show up in the temporary internet files directory. That means the search is working. If Windows doesn't let you search temporary internet files, post here. You might be able to search it by typing "/Temporary Internet Files" as described.

2 - When the search is complete, copy these files into a new folder. It's possible you may get "Cannot read from source or disc" errors. Try to ignore them and try to copy as many as you can.

3 - Next, use some kind of compression like winzip or winrar to compress them into a single file. If possible, upload them and post the link in this topic. Otherwise, email them to lighthead@lighthead.net

Thanks.

POST HERE IF YOU'RE DOING THIS AND/OR WHETHER IT'S WORKING

Why is no one doing this? If you're getting stuck somewhere we need to know.

what exactly would you then do with the files. Or more to the point, is this site helpful?

Later on Vec will be able to parse them onto eliteboard I believe.

And yea, I've tried using archive.org earlier and was able to get a few posts but not a ton.

Some people clear their cache/temp files daily, like me.

I don't clear it daily, in fact I rarely clear it but I just haven't found anything. I've tried all the methods and I get nothing...*shrugs*

Wow I didn't get anything. At all. Unless I did it wrong. Which I might have.

The search refuses to work for me. I searched for the gif suggestion and I got nothing...so maybe the search is blocked, I dunno...

I actually wouldn't mind seeing that evil theme.

If you get no .gif files in Temporary Internet Files, go in the chat or AIM me at GameMusic. We need a list of those people. You might be able to open the Temporary Internet Files directory and search from there, or copy it somewhere.

Note that turning visibility for all files and folders, including hidden and system files, in Windows folder options may be required. Show file extensions too.

Make sure you set search to use subfolders, because the Temporary Internet Files directory contains invisible subfolders. You can see them in Windows Exlorer tree view. Right click on them and select find.

You can also browse to them in the browse dialog in Windows search.

I store my cache in my media server, which is currently dead due to power surge. I'm hoping beyond all hope that the four-disk RAID stripe survived.

I checked out my IE cache a while ago and got nothing, and unless I did something wrong there's nothing in my Firefox cache, either.

There is a remote chance that there's something on my sis' computer...I'll check that later.

Am I like one of the few that forgets about clearing the cache? I'm far too lazy to do it...oh and I'll try Vec's method...

Sorry, got nothing. I think I cleared out my cache a few days after the attack, I still searched, but nothing came up.

I think mine must be done automatically or something, because I've tried all methods and still nothing's coming up.
Sorry, the closest thing I've got to anything are some posts of mine I copied to Word documents for future reference. I'll keep trying though.

I tried searching my IE Temporary Internet Files (I haven't cleared it out since I switched to Firefox) and got nothing. I, like others, clean out my Firefox cache frequently, with the last time I did so being yesterday. As such, I'm afraid I can be of no help here.

Sorry, I'm getting nothing either, plus I think I deleted all mine after to try and get on to Elite SPA in the first place, as well as getting Firefox after to see if IE was the trouble.

I, like...rarely clear out my temp files.... and yet I couldn't find anything X_o;;; I searched all over my freaking computer, top to bottom, for like an hour.... I'm sorry, I tried ;_;

The closest thing I have to an actual file is an HTML document of a SPA thread I saved for my site ^^; If you're interested in that, I could send it.. (It's not an important thread, but hey ^^; It's the poetry thread I started that has some pretty good stuff in it though..)

I had a look, but stuff seems to have been cleared out automatically. All I've got is some internet shortcuts, which when clicked, lead to the dead links. Sorry :(

I have an Apple... (specifically, 10.3, so I don't have 10.4's nifty search features.) And although I occasionally use Firefox, usually, when I'm browsing the MoFo, I use OmniWeb...

(Plus, I think I cleared all my caches recently.)

I am terribly sorry, but it seems that my cache has been deleted since then.

Dang it. A lot of the things in Sonic HQ was pure gold. *sigh*

"Search is complete. There are no results to display."

Sorry. Our computer tends to crash, and not so long ago it got its harddrive completely wiped, so we probably don't have anything anymore.

Like Chronos cat, I use a Mac, and Safaris cache is tough to make heads or tails of... besides, I am a system upgrade removed from the hack. so all my caches were deleted. but has anyone contacted google? their 'bots usually snag stuff like this.

Sorry, like everyone else, I get rid of my cache occasionally. Not that you're missing much, I posted some stuff about how Perfect Chaos should've actually DONE something to Super Sonic in Sonic X and disppeared. Anyway, nice picture, koolkaz. XD
