Stumbled on an article on Sonic '06, an this guy says Sonic collects WHAT?!
GET THE TORCHES AND PITCHFORKS READY! >=o
LOL! Whoever wrote this lives under a rock! Coins!
The many little kids that are my mother's piano students have also been known to call them "coins."
Of course, they also call Robotnik "Eggman" at all times, are afraid to try the "normal" setting on their Sonic Advance games, and are confused to of why Knuckles is "being mean" and laughing whenever I play Sonic 3. Makes you wonder what the age is of whoever wrote that article.

So?
So? So what? Its just a thing they do. o.o
Oh my. @ article.
And, oh my @ today's youth.
The effect Sonic X is having. u_u;
You mean the effect 4Kids Sonic X is having?
Nearly every person I've played a Sonic game with has referred to rings as coins, at some point. Twenty years of Mario has irreversibly corrupted our society, I fear.
I called them coins subconsciously for years after Sonic came out, because they are pretty obviously based on Mario's coins.
How do you figure that? The Mario series doesn't have a monopoly on collecting shiny valuable objects.
Spinning gold oval objects of similar size at 100 per 1-up?
Coins. o.o
I called the things with Sonic's head in Sonic R coins.
But rings? Rings=/=Coins. D:
longtime sonic allies like Blaze the Cat and Tails the Fox
Blaze has been around for one game and is already a longtime ally on par with Tails. 😛
I'm the other way, I automatically call any shiney colectables Rings N.n
I sometimes said coins when talking about Sonic by accident, and sometimes rings when talking about Mario...
When I played SMB3 on my NES when I was younger, my younger cousin, who apparently played Sonic at the time, called the coins rings and I would constantly correct him. Then, later in life, after I played a Mario game, after several years of playing Sonic, I too called the coins rings, at least I think I did if memory serves.
