It's my Christmas present, you see. Something of this size means I don'tget anything else, but hey, who gives a crap? It's mine, all mine!

Pentium 5 processor
160GB HD
Windows XP
18 speed multi-function CD drive
512MB RAM

Lots of wonderful stuff with sound cards and video cards.

Watch me punch you all in the face and laugh mockingly! Goodbye, Windows 98, hello all the shiny new viruses that come waiting for XP, and now I can chat with more than one person at a time and not worry about slowdown!

But does it come with the internet?

I don't think you could fit that on a 160 Gig hard drive, no.

I see you ran into the famous ad that circulated the internet for all of a few seconds and snapped it up all quick-like

Does such a thing even exist? I certainly thought it didn't.

Okay, it's not exactly Pentium 5. TECHNICALLY it's a 3500+ speed processor. Which means it's STILL better than your creaky old 3200+ speed processors.

Now I can do all sorts of wonderful things!

Then it's not even an Intel Pentium, it's an AMD Athlon.

AMD 3500+ is a decent little chip. I'm still running 3200+ and I'm just now hitting lumps of apps that start slowing mine down.

Cool. Dad's got a computer with the same specs eccept a better disk drive and a 3200+ chip instead - Better than my own computer, and like two years older. Hmph.

But I wanted to brag; if that's all you're getting...I got a 32" LCD TV in my room; and I'm getting a Ps3 as well. o.o

...

Do you have any idea how many starving children you could feed for a week instead?

Perhaps it's just my upbringing, but that sounds obscenely excessive to me.

We give to charity, actually. I don't understand the whole deprive-yourself-of-creature-comforts-because-others-aren't-as-fortunate way of thought, but we do give to charity. We just don't give enough to not buy an LCD TV. But yeah, if you want to feed all of Africa or whatever, please be my guest.

Besides, this thread's for bragging, so why can't I do it? how many kids can Harley feed with the money spent on the computer? o.o

And Acrio is telling the truth. She had it coming though, and I had a liiiiittle bit too much caffeine.

As I said, it's possibly just my upbringing, but based on the relatively limited amount of my time/attention which I devote to television and gaming, I find the idea of receiving such an expensive television or gaming console as a gift completely ridiculous and borderline repulsive.

If anyone were to get me a 32" LCD TV or a PS3, I would certainly feel awful. It would be rude to refuse it, not to mention a sleight to the presenter, but I don't think I could in good conscience accept it because I don't think I could ever bring myself to even want such a thing, let alone own it.

I don't think I've ever gotten a gift greater in value than $150 anyhow...

So I'm a saint because I'd rather nobody spent several hundred dollars to get me something I don't want? Or I'm a saint for not wanting it in the first place?

In fact it was a little enlightening...

My mouse and keyboard are now wireless, so I can't chuck them. But I can break the old ones over my knee, oh, yes!

You found one in there? I congratulate you; I wasn't even trying this time.

Hmmm... maybe I could use all the cds for the games that now refuse to work on Windows XP as shruikens.
