If they bring back the original TV series, I'm happy!

50+ episodes of evolving continuity - they just hardly ever made cartoons like that, even back in the '80s!

Plus, Tweeg was fun. 🙂

However, the potential of yet another perfectly good 2D series getting a CGI makeover terrifies me... Things that weren't broken just have a terrible habit of getting "fixed" these days... 🙁

Look at it this way. They might bring back SatAM if we're lucky. With season 3. Heres hoping.

No. No. They wont. They never will. Stop dreaming. You'll only hurt yourself.

They did make a live action type one, with actors in costumes and stuff, it was disapointing

WE need to hold on to the fact that now retro is coming back so it must conme back, at least I hope so.

Sorry for the tangent, but "retro coming back" is more aimed at things a little older than 10 years, and it's about reinventing NOT CONTINUING the LICENSE not the series.

So as SatAM is a show from a license, which is still in it's prime, it's complete and utter foolish thinking to apply this logic to something so recent, let alone a licensed spinoff.

No means no. Stop dreaming. It wont happen. Ever.

As for the actual topic. I know of Ruxpin, however I've never seen it. I realise admitting this will cause at least one person to pounce me and inform me of my wrongs, and I am willing and ready to accept your brainwashing ^_~

That would be moi.

Teddy was designed by Ken Forsee, who also worked with Disney's "Country Bear Jamboree" exhibit.

Teddy Ruxpin has the privilage of being hailed as the world's first animatronic toy. He was the first toy to implement a mouth and eyes that moved in sync with the story tapes that he came with.

There were three versions of Teddy, four if you count this recent incarnation. The first was manufactured by Worlds of Wonder in 1985. The second was manufactured in the early 90s by Playskool and a third by Yes!

If you want to find out more check here.

That said, I'm thrilled that Teddy's making a comeback. I've waited years for him to make a return and my waiting has finally paid off. I own a working Playskool version and a broken Worlds of Wonder version that was bought from an antique shop. Hopefully, he'll get enough hype that someone will pick up the original Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin series and put in out on a DVD box set.

Edit: w00t!! I hit my first 1K!

Wait a minute.

What's so great about this? I'm confused. It's... it's teddy bears going on adventures. I think. What the hell!? That sentence was evil! Ugh....

*pounces on Craig as well*

You don't remember Teddy Ruxpin? You poor, deprived thing! :)

I still remember the theme tune and I think my brother has a couple of the videos I got him from a charity shop (good job he never reads this forum, I'm sure he'll *love* me spreading that around!).

Tweeg and that horned creature of his whose name currently escapes me (LB possibly?) were the greatest things about that show. Amazing how often the villains are best - just look at the Nightmare Prince in Potsworth & Co, or Hades in Hercules. Anyhow, I digress...

So, Teddy Ruxpin, nice long story arcs, cool themetune and great comedy villains. Reruns please!

Yes, it was LB. Short for Little Bounder.

And of course the villains're always more fun! Heroes always have to do what's morally right in the end - villains get more freedom.

Sounds like I really missed out. I'll keep my eyes and ears open then. Never too old to be young :D

...now, as much as I enjoy three women pounced on me, I'm finding it hard to breathe ^^;;;

See, there are downsides to being loved by everyone, Craig!

You are doomed to a slow death by suffocation!

And let's not forget about Quellor, Overlord of MAVO. Even though I only know about him from reading episode guides and bios, that guy was evil. He had a crystal that could wipe out anyone's memories.

Is this going to be another case of you following me around the forum commenting on how apparently loved I am and how apparently despised you are?

If so, can you find a different playmate?
