I never thought it would be, but it was...

Tonight, it was my last night at J Sainsburys, the supermarket chain in UK. (A general Grocers store, yet somewhat bigger if you dont know)

Some of you may well know, me and this work place didnt get along...but in spite of that, I feel, remorse and sorrow for leaving this place...I kinda, didnt wanna say goodbye, something like I wish I wasnt going.

It was hard to say goodbye and it got worse when my friends gave me a going away/leaving card, signed by a lot of the workers there. It looks like I was liked more than I had always thought...

It hurt to say goodbye, recieving the card just made it harder and it only hit home like, an hour before I was to go.

To top it off, the duty manager, who I hadnt really gotten on to well with in the past made a point of saying see ya later to me, even gave me a pat on the shoulder and a hand shake, which was nice, since it's good to leave on a high note with people.

It's strange...

After all this time, hate and depression that place has given me...

I guess I dont wanna say...goodbye...

In a way, I understand how you feel. The same emotions run through for other things like school or whatnot. I wasn't very fond of school, yet when I left, I felt a kind of emptiness inside of me. I don't like my job (I work at Woolworths), and I think I'd do the same if I left. I think the job in unsatisfying and frustrating. The only reason I stay is the people in my department...and they're all leaving too.

What I promise myself and what I think you would be doing aswell is that the friends you made their, you would still hang out with them outside of work - so that emptiness isn't all that bad. (I apologise if that's not the case). I predict that the same will happen when I finish my degree next year too.

Don't forget that you can always still visit the shop - just on the other side. The people and place would still be the same, you just view it from a different perspective. The people you got on with will still be there.

I hope that helps a little.

Be thankful...

You didn't have to leave in the manner I did. For my first job I was there for over 2 years. It devastated me to get fired after all this time especially when I was admired and looked up to by many, even management.

**Gives you a hug**

Just be sure to visit your old work place every now and then. They'll like that and it won't feel like such a 'final' goodbye.

I don't know how that is. Granted I have a feeling it will be real soon (But I don't think I should go on about it since it's not MY topic) but I figure it's tough. I don't know what to say but just to appreciate the good times you had there and keep in touch with your former coworkers...*shrugs*

Your leaving the place?
Have you got a new job lined up, or just going to take some time off and see what comes?

Well done for putting up with it though, and at least you left on good terms.

I can relate to that. I've been sad to leave jobs, even when I've hated them. It can be a real wrench, as familiarity can be acary to break away from.

I work in the music department thankfully. Unfortunately Woolies' slim picking choice of music restricts me from playing most good music...
