They SO need to make a movie about this.

...not that I'd...pay to see it.

For the record: blue fin tuna nigiri sushi is DELICIOUS. Runs about $20 for two pieces, well worth it if you can get someone else to pay for it or if you win the lotto.

In other words, I wish to eat this giant fish.

On the subject of sushi, I've always wanted to go to Japan and try fugu sashimi (blowfish). True it's poisonous but I think it must delicious partly because of the fact that the fish could kill you.
Or is that just me?::p

Anyway, let's see them force THAT into a tin! lol

Think that's amazing? The record for bluefin tuna is about 1500 pounds. And to be frank, I'm more interested at heavyweight records for freshwater fish.

They should just make food out of the tuna to feed a small town for a week. 😛

Damn. I could make a pretty damn big sandwich out of that (and the 1000+ lb tuna that DarkMessiah mentionned).

Wow o_o.
I didn't know tuna that big ever existed.
Wow.
That poor family's going to have tuna in their freezer for years x_x
Too much tuna, if you ask me.

It's not like tuna in a can though. That's albacore tuna. Blue fin is a dark pink/red color with large pieces of fat holding the meat together. I don't think it'd make a good sandwich. :cuckoo

Now all we need is a tanker truck of mayonaisse and dill relish.

It's very popular because the nerve poison creates a sensation of your lips and tongue going numb. In order not to get a fatal dose, the fish must be prepared very carefully.

I hear that some Japanese scientists have succeeded in creating poison-less blowfish though.

Wow...Never heard of any fish reaching that size, and that guy in the article said they get bigger than even that. Amazing.
