Turns out that the baby embedded itself in the fallopian tubes instead of the uterus. She had to undergo surgery to remove the baby before it grew large enough to kill her and itself.

(sighs) She's so sad now...she had no choice, but a life is a life. Pray for her.

I know.

It was either 'mom and baby die' or 'baby die'. Still...well, you know?

Awwww! That's awful! I send my condolences. :(

I've never heard of a baby killing its mom, though. In real life, I mean. O_o

Wait, how old are you? You sure you'd want a sibling who's so much younger? My mom had her second kid when I was almost 13. I was so used to being an only child. And what's worse is that people have ALWAYS mistaken the brat to be MY kid. Which is extremely insulting.

But back to the point. Your mom'll be okay. Things like this happen, unfortunately. I'm not very good at offering comfort, but I hope this helped somewhat. *hugs* Besides, it's not like that was her only chance for a baby. :thumbsup

My age is none of your concern.

As for your main point, my mom's getting old. She'll be going through menopause sooner or later, and she wants to have a baby with her new husband (I live with dad, she lives elsewhere). So she doesn't really have a lot of chances left. :

And besides, I have THREE siblings. All of them are half a decade younger than me. Sure, they can be annoying...but would I want to live without them? No.

*hugs Ultra*

I'm not even going to pretend I know how this feels to go through, and e-support is probably a bit hollow; but it's the best I can do from over here.

It's called an ectopic pregnancy, Shoe. It's not exactly rare, unfortunately. 🙁

Urgh....I'm very sorry about that, Ultra.

My condolences to your mother. Tell her that it's ok, and that no matter what, you'll be by her side, and hopefully, that counts for a lot. 🙂

Ah, thank you for enlightening me, Sam.

Again, Ultra, I offer my deepest condolences. Things will be okay. Medical science only gets more awesome, so I bet the next baby will turn out just fine. :thumbsup

I think that question falls under "need to know basis", HS77. I feel for ya, Ult. My mom had the exact same thing happen to her a while or so before getting pregnant with me, was told she shouldn't try for another, yet, here I am. If she doesn't give up, she may be able to have another child as well.
