This isnt really that new, but here goes...

Apparantly North Korea has the materials to build over 9 nukes... Im starting to think they're a real threat.

Is there any truth to this?

Or so Ive heard... dont go spreading this, as Im not sure if it's true, and dont want to cause widespread panic...

it may only be a rumor... or something I "thought" I heard...

I know the news said something about them going into the testing phase recently though...

No, you're right, Korea's a threat indeed, but it's been that way for quite a while. It's nothing new.

Has been a threat ever since they managed to fend of the USA the last time that the USA tried to invade, sorry free the korean people.

It was probably a threat a short while before that, however thankfully an excellent comedy drama called MASH came out of the war.
That's what war is good for, if it wasnt for the Korean War we woudlt have Hawkeyye Pierce or Radar to laugh along with.

North Korea is a serious threat to South Korea. If they have the bomb, I can assure you that it's pointed at Seoul. Kim Jong Il has neither a reason, the stupidity, nor the technology to attack the United States directly with nuclear weapons.

Kim Il Jong is a tyrannical leader with great intelligence.

So were Hitler and Stalin. Hitler declared war on the US, and Stalin pushed the US and Soviet Union into the cold war.

The current round of base closers targets bases in Korea for downsizing, whether that is to put less pressure on N. Korea or not would be pure speculation on my part.

At the respective times, Hitler and Stalin probably could've taken on the United States.

Meh, I worry quite a bit. As it is, they shut down some Nuclear Power plant out there to take something out of it that can make a nuke. If they ever do attack the US, I have the big fear that they'll go for whats closest, the west coast...California, where I live. x.x that would realy suck for me.

I hope this all gets resolved soon, if there is one thing I want to see in my lifetime is to get rid of nuclear weapons, I swear, we don't even need the bizzare number that we have.

Given the history of the US and N. Korea we didn't do such a good job last time, albeit we would have won completely except for Chinese intervention.

A threat to themselves more likely. If they're dumb enough to USE one of those suckers, they'll have our arsenal of 9 THOUSAND nukes down their throats. Not to mention...doers anyone have any idea as to what their delivery system is? I doubt it's very advanced...it may be able to graze Hawaii...with the fallout...if they're aiming at us at all. I agree with those that say they'd rather be aiming at S. Korea.

not South Korea, why nuke territory that you want to occupy? No, the most likely target for blackmailing the the West is Japan.

Ah...when they "accidently sent some weapons into the sea near Japan." Knocking out Japan would definitely have a huge effect on the economy in the West...though I'm not sure if they are in good company with China, if they are that could cause more problems for Asia...and maybe the world...
