I went for my job interview today.
It went quite well, had a funny test to take.
Questions asked included "What is the default drive letter for a floppy drive?"
I then had my proper Interview and they all seemed very impressed with what I said and all.
On the way home, one of the people in the Interview stopped by me in the car and told me informally that if it were up to him, he would hire me, but it wasnt his call.
But that filled me with more confidence.
When I got home, I recieved a phone call and they offered me the job.

I got a new job!

What it entails eh?
Well, its a shift work job, so I work 4 days on, 4 days off.
Work Earlys, Days, Evenings and Nights, in a rotary fashion.
WCI works with supporting major companies, including the NHS, one of two which I will be working to support.
When the compnaies have a problem, they ring up WCI and one of the Lv 1 support people (me) will assist them.
They gave me a question sheet when I arrived to fill in. I got 18 out of 20
I was told it was one of the highest they'd seen from a Lv 1 technician.
But then again, with questions like "What drive letter is the floppy drive by default" I had to snigger (Im not boasting there, please dont think I am o.o; )
Though they DID have a grammar mistake in the question.

Heh. I'll tell my mum (who works for the NHS) to be nice to the technicians on the phone then.

Congradulations and my sympathies as well. Tech Support is the first rung into this field. It's also the hardest. But the fact you weren't dumb like me and picked AOL/compuserve/netscape/whateverelsetheyboughtout to do support for, me thinks you'll have a less jading experience than me.
