Holy crap, a real humanoid robot.
Dated June 10th, the day I left, so I don't know if this was posted on the EliteBoards or what.
Could it be? Mattbot's bride?
*sigh* What do you mean by this...
I saw this a few days ago. This technology will be going straight into the sex industry.
Bizarrely, that's the first thing I thought of, too.
They lie.
That robot has built that human, I tell you!!! LIES!!! I HEAR NOTHING BUT LIES!!!
But the amount that these things will cost to make (and lord knows how much to BUY), given the amount of robotics and silicon required.... wouldn't it be cheaper to hire a human companion
Seriously, I can't think of any practical applications for a regular person for such a robot, I doubt they're intended to serve (or service) humanity, just prove that we are able to make something like that.
I'm sure someone will find something to do with it, though. Perhaps target practice, crash test dummy or theme park attraction
That IS amazing...
seriously, one day I'm gonna go that country...
Interesting. :O (The advances of technology/science nowadays kinda scare me though..)
I was vaguely reminded of Chobits when I read through the article. The computer of the future! Everyone'll have one, and then people won't have a need to find real people cos' robots don't age and... and...
So yeah. >.>;
