Anyone else interested in any of the trials/competitions leading up to any Olympic sport this year? I've spent the fall and winter (and tonight!) glued to the TV watching figure skating to see who is going to be this years U.S. team.

Anything you're looking forward to in February?

I'm looking forward to the figure skating and the snowboarding, particularly the half-pipe events.

I'd be watching the figure skating trials if they weren't exclusive to a premium digital channel that I can't get. 🙁

It's gonna be Michelle Kwan (the Olympics will be her second perfomance of the season, she's been out and was out of the nationals due to injuries), Sasha Cohen (last night's winner) and Kimmie Meisnner for the U.S. Olympic ladies figure skating team.

I'm really excited about the U.S. team, the Japanese team and Irina Slutskaya from Russia. It will be a really exciting competition

Is Jenna McCorkell the British skater this year, Sam? She's really the only British ladies skater I've ever heard any hype about.

As I recall, the gymnastics were the most impressive last time...
Hmmm.
I may watch some...

She might not be. She's injured her back, and won't even be skating at the national championships. I'm not sure that she'll be ready in time or even qualify.

Last time I spent the most time watching the kayaking cometition... So nearly a gold medal for Britain, he had it in his hands but THOUGHT he had it so didn't try so hard in the final stretch...
Came third, but the silver place was disqualified so we came second overall... but it SO should of been a gold, idiot...

Anyway, yeah, thats what I enjoyed the most last time.

My favorite to watch is either Skeleton or Luge...

I'm not really that much of an olympic person...I'll watch the above two and speed skating in the winter. In the summer, I'll watch swimming and the short distance track events...The 100m and the 200m have only become interesting to me since I started running those events 5 years ago...It's a slap in the face (and also a Wow...Ho-ly CRAP!) when even the women beat my fastest time by 2+ seconds! 12.15 is good for a High School student...especially one who has an extreme case of Asthma!

I watched the U.S. figure skating Nationals, which are basically the U.S. Olympic trails. I am glad Michelle Kwan got the bye(she is my favorite skater), she has some skating tests(similiar to what Nancy Kerrigan had when she got clubed)this Friday and Saturday, and if everything goes well she will be at the Olympics.

Figure skating is my favorite Olympic sport, but I like just about all the sports in the winter Olympics. I think I like the winter Olympics a little better than summer.
