The pixel. A single speck of color on a computer screen. The smallest one it can make. The most basic building block of life. Alone it seems like nothing. A speck on a blank page. A piece of dust. A tiny square. They come in many colors, but alone seem nothing more then just colored specks.

But together, with many others of different colors, moving and shifting into each other in just the right way... something amazing happens.

It's magic. True and honest magic. Suddenly rather then a collection of colored dots there is substance, there is more. Life was created by an art program and to much free time. Form a series of small squares... becoming...

As you can see, pixels take on a life of their own. Pixels have created an entire world. A place of joy and laughter and inainity. It is the world of Pixelation. It is a place like few others. A place with great adventure.

A place with weirdness.

A place with drama.

It is a place. It is a word of small squares.

People who come to the mofo often treat it as another world. They have there role plays, their chat communities. They set up intricate plots and DMed universes and they fill them with darkness and angst. As is their want to do.

Darkness and pain, sorrow and blood. Parts of the city exploding in doom. Super creatures that crush and destroy. Unwanted pregnancies and angst. Angst is the dish that is served most often in the fictional worlds of the mofo, and in most fictional worlds period. And there is nothing wrong with that. Infact angst is alot of fun. Worlds of pain and darkness are great.

To me though, i never view the mofo, or the world of the mofo, as a place ware angst should be the main focus. To me it is a.... silly place. Not that it can't be sad, or serious. But life is sad and serious. To me, escapism done properly, is some ware ware i don't always have to be sad and serious.

A place ware a persons head can explode and they'll be fine.

A place ware plots don't have to make sense or match up with one another.

A place ware angst is but a convenient plot device to lead to things that really aren't very angsty at all.

When i come to the mofo, i come to that place. When i write things in the mofo, scromics or skits or whatever. That's ware i write them.
