Well green eyes don't work with Sonic.

You know, if I were talking to you, face to face, and there weren't any rules of language, you probably wouldn't like me very much. Read my last post, I explained why it does work for Sonic, can you explain why it doesn't? No, you can't, you can only explain why it doesn't work for you.. What's more, I'd just like to add that I love Sonic's green eyes, I couldn't imagine them looking good in another colour.

Anyway, I haven't yet posted my opinion on the topic, here goes.
I used to love SatAM when I was a kid, but only because it was a Sonic cartoon, I prefered the games and Fleetway's comics (which I considered the story to the games back then). Whwn I look back now, I love the games even more now, and the comics I loved are once again my favourite comics above all others. However, when I watch SatAM recently I found it boring, silly and annoying, with the only character I cared for being Bunnie (Sonic annoyed me, Tails could've been replaces by a cardboard cut out and no-one would notice and Robotnik just seemed too lazy to get out of his throne and actually fight Sonic) I just couldn't find anything worth while about the others. The badnik designs weren't much either, most of them looking like cardboard boxes with faces glued on. I also hate how Sonic is stuck in the Knothole forest and not going out and having an adventure just for fun.

There's more to it than that, but I can safely say I did not enjoy it, I even watched a few episodes of AoStH and found that more enjoyable, and I even laughed at parts like this one;

Sonic: *standing in front of Robotnik's computer* Bet ya' can't catch me (or something like that).
Grounder: *shoots Sonic*
Sonic: *dodges Grounder's blast which hits the computer, Sonic lands a good distance away from the computer* I hope you guys have stupid insurance.
Grounder: *to Scratch* Do we?
Scratch We're covered, SHOOT!
Grounder: *shoots computer*

So in short, I favour the games tremendously.

About the eyes, would you prefer blue, violet, brown or amber? Blue definitely doesn't work, violet's pretty dang close to blue, brown's just bland and amber makes him look battle-hardened (Believe me, I've given him eyes that colour before). So in conclusion, GREEN ALL THE WAY!

One thing I give to SatAM. If it hadn't been for it, I probably would have never gotten into Sonic. I do however, enjoy writing about SatAM. But I often add SegaSonic elements in, like the Egg machines, the classic Badniks, and some of the game only characters.

Well I say black eyes all the way. That's how it originally was and I think it makes him more cartoony. Cartoony is good. Now I do agree that the classic badniks would have improved SatAm and heck they should have put Knuckles in, but I like SatAm because of the more serious storyline and the characters like Rotor(season 1 only. The season 2 one is too fat.), Bunnie, Sally, and Dulcy. Yes Robotnik should have been more active and less lazy, but he still acted pretty sinister with the whole Roboticizer. I think the Roboticizer would be usefull in the games. Anyway SatAm could have been better, but I still like it because without it I wouldn't be as much of a Sonic fan as I am today. I still like SegaSonic, but the new Sonic's spikes are too long and he is too skinny.:nono

If you feel that way then that's fine, but I have to point out that Sega Sonic's new design is somewhat essential, if you compare his old design to his new, the old design looks somewhat plain, mainly because his eyes are just black, what's more his old proportions are very simple; now you may prefer them, and they did work in the older titles, they would look pretty bad nowadays. If you put old Sonic's simpler design into the 3D games of today then he would look blocky and plain, the newer design changes that, his green eyes stand out and really fit with his personality, his proportions make him look much more stream-lined and athletic, and gives him a much "cooler", and less of a cuter, look.

Okay now, Sonic Adventures 1&2, and Sonic Battle had stories that were serious, on much greater levels than SatAM. Also, I'm not going to judge to harshly here but I think you may have contradicted yourself slightly;

Quote:

Compare that with what I just quoted, do you want him cartoony or serious? I didn't find much of anything serious in SatAM, sure it was more serious than AoSTH, but Sonic 3 & Knuckles had a much more serious story, and that game didn't use word of dialog or text.

Well the main point about Robotnik in Sonic 1 was that he had sealed all of Sonic's friends in his badniks to use them as organic batteries, that sounds like a worser fate to me. I agree with you on the personality part, but I still prefer Sega Sonic Eggman (yes I do like the name), I also prefer the OVA's Eggman.

Ok, maybe the eye color isn't SO bad, but His spikes are too long which makes him look more like a porcupine than a hedgehog.(Sorry) The SatAm Sonic design would look kind of weird, but not too bad.SA is serious, but I like the roboticizer thing. It makes it so the mobians have to suffer being a mindless slave which makes the storyline more interesting. And Sonic 3&Knuckles is fun, but I didn't see too much of a serious plot there.:^^; Ugh... I altered my picture of MegaSonic, my character,as seen below...

and altered it so it looked like the SatAm Sonic with green eyes and saved that pic as a different file so I could see you how weird the old Sonic looks green eyes. What do you think?

Although it was actually SatAM that got me into Sonic in the first place, I'd have to place my bet with SA & SA2 for the win. Those games are actually pretty fun to interact with, and have a compeling storyline like SatAm. (AND they have Knuckles! One of my more favorite characters which SatAM lacked.) Although for my favorite Sonic series I'd have to give it do Archie. Threre are simply too many characters I have fallen in love with within that series. (Dimitri and the Dark Legion for examples.)

Actually, Mega, I think Sonic's old look works well with green eyes, not bad at all.

Yep Archie is good, too bad they changed Sonic's appearance, it is still a good comic though. SA and SA2 are fun and two of my favorite GameCube games. I love Chao World on SA2 Battle and I have all of the chaos chao, and a normal type dark chao that has everything at level 99. But that is off subject. Anyway SatAm is my favorite series, but I don't hate SegaSonic, Archie, SU, OVA, or AoStH. I just prefer SatAm because umm..... Well I um.... I really like the storyline, and characters, plus the SatAm Sonic has the best looks(I like the single row of spikes.) and additude(in my opinion). A few complaints I have is that Archie makes Rotor to fat and purple instead of blue, the new Bunnie is freaky, Antoine isn't a coward, and finally they don't feature Dulcy enough.:nono
Oh Super Rayzor, I guess the green eyes on the old look aren't so bad. thanks for the comment on my art, I drew it myself.

You're welcome, Mega:thumbsup , but I don't get what you mean by attitude in SatAm, I think Sonic has major 'tude in SegaSonic, AoStH, and Archie(I never watched SU|I ). Oh, are you saying Sonic has more of an attitude in SatAm than any other continuity?

Couldn't you have posted this in the US Sonic X disscussion. I don't really care, myself *shields self from rabid Live and Learn fans* Now if It Doesn't Matter, was supposed to be on there and it isn't then that's another hedgehog of a different color.

I hate 4Kids as it is, but when they cut out Live and Learn they cross the line!
Anyway I think an interesting crossover would be that of SegaSonic and SatAm. What would it be like if both worlds collide? I think it would be pretty coo o see th ROBOTNIKS team up..
--------------------------------------
on another subject check out my new fan character. His profile will be on my website.

His name is Tau and is a distant cousin of Sonic's in my GameWorld Chaos Comic, soon to come to SC.

No, they were already about 5000+ over that line by then, there real crime (which should be punished by extreme torture :evil ) is what they did to Gamma's voice and dialog.

I've thought about that myself, and although I thought it might've been cool at the time, I think it's a pretty useless idea now, I just don't really think there's any point in the original characters teaming up with the cartoon ones. Fleetway vs Archie might be a good idea though.

Hmm I've never read Fleetway.
(Does anyone like my fan character seen on my previous post?) Me and my crew at SC are making a comic which mixes all of the Sonic universes plus some other games called Game World Chaos so maybe I should look at Fleetway for more ideas.
Here is the cover for my first issue of GWC......

First off fan-comic stuff goes in the Carnival Island forum, so don't expect feedback here.

As for the Fleetway comic, it was the UK comic which ran 184 issues and is geenrally regarded as something special, though why and what type of special often depend on who you're asking. But it was a wonderful comic, focused on the game stories more than the cartoons.

I've done several pseudo-crossovers before. I'd have the Freedom Fighters from SatAM, but I add in SegaSonic characters like Chaos and Shadow, plus SegaSonic locations like South Island and the Little Planet.

I think he means more of the "OH NOZ TOO SONIX" kind of story. Those'd be pretty cool if they ever got done.

What do ya mean? Are you reffering to the cover of my comic? If so than I must let you know that the darker colored Sonic is a reject clone made by Robotnik.(see comic for more info.) Or are you talking about my crossover idea? I'm confused.
Oh I guess I'll put a topic about GWC on a different forum.

I would have to say I definitely like Sat-AM sonic much more than segasonic. In my opinion the characters are 3-D compared to the more 2-D flat ones from the games. I mean how can you care for a piece of cardboard. This is just my personal preference so please don't kill me. :nn;

OK. What is with this talk of alternate accounts? I am confused. As for Shadow615 I think something is wrong with your post because it says illegal javascript tags or parameters detected. Probobly because of an invalid tag.

While ShadowHog cannot view your IP to verify that you have more than one ezboard account & can only go based on posting style/opinions/etc., I can check. If he were wrong, I would've said so. Many members have more than one ezboard account, which is perfectly fine. Just don't attempt to pretend to be someone else (unless it's a RP, or something similar). However, we don't like it when people double-post, so don't do that.

Not to be presumptuious, but how can a plucky young 13 year old like yourself be a fan of an obscure Sonic cartoon? A cartoon that was airing before your conception if i might add? I mean its cool and all how the new generation is acknowledging quality shows of yesteryear, but im just curious how you even discovered this show. It hasnt aired in the US since 1997, and only portions of Season 1 were released on 1 DVD in 2002. By the way, im 23 and have been a SatAM fan for 11 years :thumbsup

I do remember watching it on USA and I have two episodes on VHS, but I usually watch it on the net. I only need to see three more episodes before I have seen them all. I beleve it is airing in the UK still.

It was 1991 thirteen years ago. The show first aired 1993. Unless he somehow was conceived at least two years AFTER his birth, then your statement doesn't make much sense.

Sharing accounts for RP where the account assumes one identity = okay
Sharing accounts to post in board discussions = bad

My friend has been using it for RPing latelly so I've been sticking to this account. I don't really care. Atleast they are enjoying the RP boards.

And I can't remember If I watched SatAm on ABC, but I did watch it on USA.(darn USA people cut up Sonic Conversion and the other 25 episodes.) I have been watching the uncut episodes online latelly so I am happy.

are those the original RM 7MB files that were encoded by StarHedgehog back in 1997? If so, i can hook you up with a serious upgrade. Bittorrent is hosting high quality episodes that was airing on the UK channel POP. Theyre uncut, and consist of DVD quality picture and sound. The only stipulation is that each episode is 300MB, so i hope you have an adequate harddrive......or 2

nah, you have to download a file to your harrdrive and open it in a Bittorrent client. From there, the file is transfered to your computer. It would be a benefit if they offered streaming bittorrent, but considering how many people share it, it would constantly buff.

(@craig-bayfield)

You couldn't have a streaming bittorrent anyway, half the reason it's so effective is because it downloads clusters of data from multiple sources at once. Even if you're downloading 200 1mb files, the chances of you being able to open any of them before the download is complete is minimal.

Sorry to bump this topic, but I have to set things straight.

Ok I know that this account used to be shared between me and MegaSonic, but since about a month ago I have been given complete control over this account. I even changed the pass so they can't get in. As for the whole custom title thing way back when,, that was posted before this was my account so back then I guess it was an alternate for Mega. I hope that I cleared things up for everyone. As for the whole SatAm vs SEGA, does it really matter? They are two completelly different series made by two different companies. Maybe something like SX vs SEGA would be a better discussion since this one is practically dead.

Now, this frightened me. The only Sonic cartoons i'm aware of are Sonic-X and AoStH, the latter
has been airing here in the UK if i'm not mistaken. I've heard of SatAM, but to be honest, I've never watched it because I never really payed attention to the Sonic cartoons when I was little, or if I did, I don't remember.
Did SatAM even air in this country?
But the thing that scared me was these Sonic cartoons.
SU, OVA?
I beg your pardon?
I've never heard of these programmes before in my life! Could someone please tell me what these even stand for?
