I don't know if there is a topic on this already, oh well.
Have you ever heard a song that isn't a Sonic song but made you think of Sonic? For me it was:

No Revolution--The Explosion; this song kinda reminds me of Sonics attitude, for some reason.

Club Foot--Kasaban; This just sounds like a song that could be on the opening sequence of Sonic Adventure 2 even though it sounds nothing like the opening sequence's music.

Meltdown--Ash; Two words: Sonic's Speed.

Rock is Dead-- Marilyn Manson; reminds me of Shadow, thats all.

(If you have a PS2 or XBox, these songs are on the game Midnight Club 3, just for you to know.)

I don't know why or how, but Don't Say You Love Me by M2M has always been an extremely nostalgic trip back to when Sonic Adventure first came out. Which is really weird, considering I don't even like that song too much. It was on the Pokmon first movie soundtrack, and I listened to it around the time I got SA.

Listening to that song is like going back in time. O.o All of a sudden, I feel like a kid again, and I have the strongest urge to play SA.

Even though it is from a completely different game, the final boss music on Final Fantasy 7 makes me think of the Death Egg and the final final level on Sonic and Knuckles. I think it might be because the song sounds like there is a great danger and a great struggle ahead, muck like the Death Egg.

Also, Aerosmith's 'Dream On'! My god what a song. Everytime I hear it, I seem to think of Knothole or Greenhill in ruins and all the heroes crawling from the wreckage and standing beside Sonic overlooking Eggman's base!

Retro Sonic anyone?

Listen to "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul - it's so Sonic it hurts.

Sum 41's "Makes No Difference" The Melody, the lyrics. Reminds me of Sonic's type of attitude.

And the Offspring's "One Fine Day" Every time I throw in Crazy Taxi 2, I think of the little blue guy for some odd reason.

and this song from Naruto, not sure the actual name of it, but it's some fight music, would go great with a scene rom Sonic X or something where Sonic really cuts loose and lets some robots have it.

Saz insists that one of the riffs in 2112 Overture by Rush sounds like a section of the music from Green Forest (SA2). It's only for like a few seconds though, but it comes up at least twice.

It really is a Sonic song, but did anyone other than me ever download the SatAM theme performed by some garage rock band? It used to be on a Sonic fansite back in the day. I'll try to see if I still have it downloaded later on.

'Rocks' or the main theme for Naruto? i think you mean the main theme there, and i must admit that it can be sonic-ish. ^^

On the other end of the scale, there's real Sonic songs that aren't really Sonic songs.

Like "Follow Me", Team Roses' theme. It doesn't mention any of the team members, unlike the other theme songs.

Or "Live and Learn", in Sonic Adventure 2 (right?). No Sonic associations there. Just a damn good song.

Naruto has had like a bajillion theme songs since then. 🙂

I've gotta say, a lot of old school midis remind me of Sonic, since Vector used to post so many of them up on the old Mobius. Like a fast remix of Slayers Next's stheme. Also, a few years back, Brian... er, SonicWhammy (I think) wrote up a remix of Pachabel's Canon called "Mobian Renaissance," as a tribute to the fanfic with the same name. I associate that midi file with Sonic also, though it's not an official Sonic piece.

I still have a lot of the old midis, so just ask on AIM or something.

Run- Snow Patrol

I dunno why. It makes me think of Sonic Adventure 2.

A few other Crush 40 songs make me think of Sonic. If you don't know, Crush 40 made Live and Learn, Open your Heart, and many of the Sonic Heroes tracks. They'll be on Shadow The Hedgehog too. They made a few originals that are in their album.

First @ Nuch: I know which bit you mean, it doesn't, but I love Saz for pointing it out! <3

@ Harley: Live and Learn's lyrics work if sung from Shadow's perspective, same with Follow Me from Amy's.

-

and the obligitory Rush song of the day is: YYZ :D It's an instrumental and is fairly frantic in live versions.

Oh and someone HAS to mention "Speed Demon" from the Bad album by Michael Jackson.

I can see where Mecca is coming from with "club Foot" by Kasabian. It just seems to have that cool feel.

And also "Getting Smaller" by Nine Inch Nails seems very "sonic-like" because of the tempo and the fact that the song rocks.

Actually, I wasn't thinking of the theme song "Rocks" (although, yeah it sounds Sonic-ish) I was actually refering to BGM used in the series (If you watch episode 30 where Sasuske fights Orochimaru you'll hear it.) I have the mp3 on my computer, but it just titled "Fight Music." But yeah regardless it sounds pretty cool.

And yeah, the Anime does switch up theme songs quite often.

I've just been listening to Jeff Waynes musical adaptation of War of the Worlds and one song seemed to make me think of Sonic and Sally for no reason. Thunder Child. I pictured Sonic standing before the entire of Robotnik as the whiole of Knothole was escaping. Very powerful music from a powerful bbook.

"Banquet: Bloc Party"

Funnily enough, the very last sound in that song sounds to me like the sound Megaman makes when he explodes. Then again, I've only ever heard the song a couple of times when it was on the radio in the background.
