I think you should post in the right forum and use proper grammar.

No.
Just no.
That is all.
*cries because you suck.*
its okay sx not everyone can be gifted with common sense, look at that lady who called 911 when her burger king order was wrong.
I take that rant of yours as seriously as I take this guy.
And that's pretty freakin' low.
Wonderbat needs to join some more school clubs so he has something to beat you over the head with.

Joke post or actual GameFAQs member?
YOU MAKE THE CALL!
Sonic still roxx0r. ^^

The funny thing is that this thread was made 100% seriously.
Yup.
Not Irony, just good ol' fashioned stupidity.
Heck no, Sonic still rules and he's cream of the crop in my eyes!!! Sonic in no way stinks!! Just because his games aren't good(in most people's eyes) doesn't mean that Sonic himself is not a great character.
If you don't like Sonic...
...Don't come here.
As a character, Sonic still has a lot of life in him.
As a company, Sonic Team aren't using his potential and as a result their games are lacking recently (well, there are many other, more important factors on top of that, but still).
As a character, Shadow doesn't even deserve the game he just got, let alone any more.
Sonic Team just isn't putting the right things in the games, and for that matter the right voices, good God almighty Sonic X voices sucks, Sega needs to change that up QUICK or I'll boycott their products. Anyways, they need to make a game where you can blaze through cities, not loops and mess, I mean a CITY CITY, like Station Square, sort of like Spiderman 2.
While this may be drawing the topic more into the realms of one suited for SI, I must say I agree - a large, free roaming environment that you can blast through at high speeds would be awesome. I mean, you can waste hours swinging through New York on Spiderman 2 or cruising through San Andreas, surely if done right such a thing would work for Sonic? We've already got many cities to backdrop him against - Station Square, Westopolis (okay, so technically they've both been destroyed, but Spoilers (Select To Read): it seemed the Eclipse Cannon was, too, before Shadow. :p), and I also wouldn't mind seeing a free-roam environment based on S3&K's Angel Island.

Well it's not like the last voices and/or voice direction were any better. =P
This is what 3D Sonic should be about, not a linear level design suspended over a bottomless pit. Heck, that's one of the main things wrong with Sonic today. Sega/Sonic Team uses stupid character gimmicks(team play, gunplay, etc.) in order to "keep the series fresh" instead of improving the real problematic areas such as the awful to mediocre level design and wonky camera. Not only that, the games seem rushed with glitchiness and awful controls.
And the absolute worst thing about it is that people will still buy it because of the Sonic brand name. I mean Sega could package actual hedgehog droppings in a PS2/Xbox/GCN/NextGen/etc. call it Sonic S*** and people will still buy it saying "it's not that bad!"
I wouldn't be too excited from the screenshot. I've downloaded the in-game spec demo and it looks like your typical level design with better graphics. I was kind of disheartened by the whole 15th anniversary Sonic dealie when I saw that it's still rails and pitfalls 🙁
I meant that the levels should be wide-open, free-range spaces witout any on-rails and bottomless pits as scene in that screenshot(even if the actual result doesn't reflect this).
Ashide, I I don't think people are that stupid. Yet.
Look at it this way - YOU program a platform game in which you can go anywhere and do anything and make it still possible to complete missions within the week.
As for crap stories... well, there's a reason Sonic Team programs computer games instead of writing science-fiction novels.
It says 'SONIC HQ' so I don't think there are any people who think Sonic sucks.
To be perfectly honest, I don't think that Shadow is anywhere near cool enough to take over.

Heh, I beg to differ. Arguably, some people have have already purchased the fecal matter of Sonic the Hedgehog in the form of certain games. However, geez, "stupid" is a pretty harsh and extreme way of putting it. o_O Some people being blindly devoted or just accepting that Sonic will never be as great again like in the 90's but will buy any of his(and spin-off) games reguardless of quality because of the Sonic name and not because it is a good game is more like it. =/ Seriously, I have a feeling if the Sonic name was not in certain mediocre to awful games, almost nobody here or there would bother to pick it up. =/

I really hate this type of arguement because it sounds like a cop-out statement. I'm not a programmer because I was never trained in the proccess of creating games. However, the employees of Sonic Team were and they get paid because it is their job. Now as a consummer, I expect them to do their jobs and put out a quality product if they want my $40-$50. They are competing with other companies for my money and if they put out a lousy, rushed product while Company Y put out a polished-with-care game for the same price then why should I give my money to Sonic Team?

I know this wasn't addressed to me but...
Okay, while the game may not have a critcally-acclaimed sci-fi story, it's proof that Iizuka's(who's a major part of ST) story is not 100% total crap.
Speaking of Phantasy Star, I believe that is Sonic Team true premire franchise because where as Shadow looked like a cheap cash-in from the B-team, Phantasy Star Universe looks like from every new screenshot and movie I see is being handled with care and made with some real effort from the A-team. =) I mean the whole project started two years ago for goodness sake. I seriously have a feeling that Sonic Team doesn't really care for Sonic that much because they know despite all of the negative reviews, children and highly devoted Sonic fans will buy the games enough to break even since the franchise is still well-known outside of the gaming community. Whereas Phantasy Star, they would have to work their butts off to make a real name worldwide to compete with Squenix's Juggernauts Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts and Nintendo's Legend of Zelda.
Now admittably, I do like Sonic the character and certain other Sonic characters. However, dangit I do have my limits!

Well, you're right about one thing I am pretty much blindly devoted to Sonic.*waves his "Sonic Rulz!!" flag wildly while chanting Sonic! Sonic! *
However, I still think Sonic games are of good quality, and I don't see a change in his greatness. I also considered all Sonic games I played good-I have never played a Sonic game I did not like(yes, that includes Heroes). Finally, you are right again, if Sonic was not in Adventure or Heroes, no I probably would not get it, but than again if Sonic the Hedgehog had of just been a game without Sonic, I would have not played it, either.

I found 1/3rd of SA2 to be a bit fun with the rest minus the Chao unbareable, the Advances to be disappointing time wasters with lost potential, Heroes to be mediocre, and doubt that Shadow is any improvement(if anything it almost seems like a step-back). This is mostly due to faulty level-design and in the case of the 3D games, that plus glitches and awful camera. I've played a lot of video games in my lifetime and there are plenty of games I would consider to be of good quality, unfortunatly the current Sonic games are not. =/

I take it you have not played Sonic Laybrinth or G-Sonic.

Myself, I've think the levels are pretty good, although I will admit the rail levels(especially in Heroes) and the rail parts in Mystic Castle(Sonic Heroes) were pains in the rear end, and the glitches and "awful" camera that most of you all talked about I have never experienced except for one part in SA which I fixed by switching it to Free Camera.

No, no I haven't(I've never unlocked them on SADX) nor Knuckles Chaotix, though I'm dieing to, or Sonic Shuffle, and I won't be playing Shadow or Sonic Rush till next week, though I'm sure I'll love them.^__^
(if anything it almost seems like a step-back).
And the irony is that one of the lines in All of Me, Shadow's main theme, is "One step forward, two steps back"...
That pretty much sums up Sonic Team's current Sonic efforts.
Sonic is now on the same level as your average game based on a TV/movie/book franchise--popular in name second-rate in excution.
I would post a link to a certain Penny Arcade strip on the subject but it clearly violates the ratings barrier. I will say this though, "Sega makes murder porn."
~Rico
I know which exactly which strip you are talking about and that is the funniest line there.
See that valley along the bottom of the level? I can almost guarantee you are FORCED along that narrow path.
I don't think Sonic sucks at all.
He is one of my favourite video game characters and probably always will be.
I have nearly got all the new Sonic games up to date except Sonic Rush and Sonic Gems Collection,I enjoy the tv shows especially Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog.
In my opinion Sonic X is getting a bit boring now.
