First they made him into a wimp by giving up in Civil War and now they have finally put him out of his misery and giving the Barry Allen/Hal Jordan treatment by having someone else under the mask.

Farewell Captain. See ya in five years or so IF Marvel does decide to bring you back(if Joe Quesada has his way he won' t be back).

You realise The Punisher is the one who picked up his mask, right?

...FRANK "I'LL KILL YOU DEAD" CASTLE!

ok, i'm sorry but at no point in civil war was capt. america a "wimp". he saw that his side was winning the battle but the battle in itself stood against his principles so he forfeited. if anything him conceding the civil war was nothing less than heroic.

i really don't like the idea of cap being taken down by a sniper though, you'd think he'd go down in an awesome knock down drag out fight.

The Marvel Universe sees him as a wimp, during his death comic the people protesting his imprisonment throw stuff at him for surrendering, calling him a coward.

Civil War just lost its mind. I can't take this anymore. Spider Man leading the "REAL" Avengers? Cap dead? What the heck man, what's next? Hulk not returning to Earth?

Luke Cage is the leader of the NEW Avengers. Peter isn't.
Cap is dead, though Mrs. Marvel says in The Initiative that he's being held in a secret sickbay.
Hulk returns this summer to kill everyone.

Hulk coming home makes me sad. He's an king, he's married, he has friends who would die for him, he doesn't have puny Banner.

Whatever causes him to go back to Earth and kill the Illuminati is gonna be tragic, and after 40 years of the green giant getting pissed on, I'd like him to have some happiness.

This is why I hate comics. I only sit up and take notice when one of these huge events happen (see House of M) and then I can never find the time to read all the issues leading up to it. x.x

So...why is Frank Castle being the new Cappy? How the hell did that happen?!

And DAMN! Civil War has been CRAZY, hasn't it? Hell, that's an understatement, to say the least.

the only things we have to go on are that The punisher has a deep respect for him and that he grabbed the mask at the end of #7. but idk it does seem really weird.

i read the initiative the other day and i wasn't entirely impressed i see ms.marvel as an overly hyped character who kind of ran with the New avengers' popularity to get her own comic. it's strange though because i like carol danvers, but when she puts on her costume i don't like her cocky personality.

but the whole Capt. america is still alive thing is really stupid. let him die or be alive, don't string us along.

String nothing, they CAN'T KILL AMERICA! He'll live. Somehow.

Craig-they GAVE Hulk's happiness. Him being married and being a King and what not is him happy. And come on, 50 states each with a super hero team? Man...First off

The Collective is gonna freak out on them now {I can see it, he's gonna go ape-crap on those up in Canada now.}

FF are literally nowhere {YO what happened to DOOM and Thor storyline, I totally missed it..}

I could go on, but I'll hit you in PM

The FF have new members. Sue and Reed are gone replace by the Black Panther and his wife Storm from the X-Men.With the help of Thor hammer,that was falling throught dimensions, Doom escape Hell and lands on Earth and begin his quest to gain the hammer. He fails and the hammer is pick up by man with initials D.B.. Thor will return in the summer (hopefully the real one this time).

Always pleased to meet a fellow Shortpacked fan. 🙂

If this is going to get properly followed up and isn't just a red herring, I'll be interested in seeing where it goes. Does nobody else here think that the political allegory just stepped up from being laid on with a trowel to a JCB?

Out goes the idealised projected image of America as the apple pie loving, white picket fence erecting defender of the weak - and in comes a ruthlessly unhinged vigilante who's so hung up on his own concept of the law that he runs around breaking everyone else's with pre-emptive strikes and anything else he feels he needs to do...

Subtle, ain't it?

Sadly, I doubt this means Marvel will reach the anti-american stance of, say The Authority.
But one can dream.

xD @ Shortpacked That was great.

No, Marvel won't go there yet..

Wait...however, they'll go as far as show how far lawmakers will go for order. How much one man wants power over what he sees as a threat-when he becomes the bigger threat throughout this. {K, seriously, Stark can blow up the world now. He bypasses Spidersense? No, I've had it.}

For all those who heard that Captain America is still alive and in a sick bay, I'm sorry to disappoint, but that was a trap set for the New Avengers in issue 28 of their comic. Basically, Ms. Marvel fed Jessica that information to lure them to attempt to recover the body.

A very dirty trick.

Steve is dead. For good.

wow and to think that they could sink much lower. honestly they actually think of themselves as heroes, but using villains, illegal, clones, and downright unfair tactics is just too much.

I still don't.

Interesting question: which "universe" are we talking about? Ultimate? Earth 2099?

In that case...

CAN ANYONE SMELL "LOOPHOLE"?

Not in the near future, people. I'm thinking this time in 2040.

So Hulk is back on Earth...what!? No more peace on another planet anymore? Yeah, in case you've noticed, I haven't been keeping up with the Marvel universe.
