TV Tropes Wiki. Essentially, a gigantic listing of every trick in the book that TV, films and video games constantly use, both clich and otherwise. Plus it's quite sassy, to boot.

Thanks to Zeta at The GHZ for pointing this site out to me (mostly due to the article it has on "The Sonic Syndrome"; ie: games that DON'T take the transition from 2D to 3D terribly gracefully).

While I've read many of these from lists scattered all over the net, still a nice find...wonder if the SNK Boss Syndrome shows up as a topic...

Wow, my stories have a lot of cliches:| ...

My favorite one is where the villain/hero gone bad is hanging on the edge by their fingers begging for help and the real hero saves them, only to be pushed of the edge! I actually have this happen in a story I've written.

I saw this linked in South Island yesterday and spent two hours reading random articles.

Ditto, Erika. I was all "...what? **click**"

And proceeded to find what "tropes" (NOT cliches :3) fit my characters, then proceeded to see what other classifications there were. I was highly amused at some of them (Beware the nice ones, anyone?)

Great find, thank you!

I spent at least an hour browsing this site last night, and I'll probably spend another hour browsing it today.

Curse you, SH!

I've seen this site before, only once and it's an awesome wiki. The number of articles I want to read grows exponentially with time, however actually reading them takes linear time. This is a problem.

Its true, I can't seem to put this website down, just like browsing wikipedia when you have a big school paper to write <_<

I was unfortunate to read about Nightmare Fuel shortly before going to bed last night. At least I ended by skipping Monster Clown and went right into Uncanny Valley and then Reboot.

Here's another thing that I have learned, its bad to be a henchman.

If you don't do your job you'll be given the "You have failed me for the last time" and then you get killed off. If you succeed in your job then the main bad guy would use the "Your usefulness has ended" tatic on you and then you get killed anyway. The only way you could survive would be that if it was a young childrens show, where you have a change of heart after the incident and decide to align yourself with the good guys.
