Yay!
Now let hope Viz or Funi pic it up and turn it into next DBZ as it was originally meant to be.
Cool. The anime is inferior to the manga anyhow, but cool anyway.
Hmm, the only reason I could fathom that happening is not even the kids were watching it. Because the only reason a company would drop a show is ratings.
And THAT usually means NOONE will pick it up.

Actually the reason is because One Piece along with YGO GX and TMNT FF has been making 4KIDS lose money.

Don't be so sure.Funi had been interested on OP for a while and there still people who are want to see OP in it original version. If they do get the rights they can do the same thing they did with DBZ which was continue where they left of and later re dub episode 4KIDS already did.
Wow, the last time I even thought about One Pieces was way way back when the Fox Box still existed, and someone posted a flash cartoon mocking it.
So in hindsight, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
Good side: now Viz, ADV and Geneon can go after it once 4Kids drops it.
Ah ha, they're just going under.
~Rico
Precisely.
No big loss, to be blunt. A great victory, though. I'm fairly cool with most anime dubbing companies (mostly because I rarely watch any anime one way or another), but if any had to go under, 4Kids was it. The fact that no matter what they did, they somehow found some way to generate ire over it by some exceedingly retarded decisions (teens shows repackaged for tots, for instance), unneeded changes (adding music where there was none, obliterating the original soundtrack altogether, and so on), rehashing of voice actors (albeit there are some good ones that really worked, like Pollock to Eggman, overall you couldn't help but shake that the character you were listening to sounded just like that other one from the show just before*), and so on, REALLY works against them.
Although I'm now curious of what'll happen over Viva Pinata.
*Actually, I sometimes noticed this in, say, Fullmetal Alchemist; for instance, I couldn't shake off the fact that Russel Tringham sounds EXACTLY like Funimation's Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho. I think I heard Hiei somewhere else, I KNOW I kept thinking Ros sounded like Rachel from Case Closed/Detective Conan, or how some guy in the first episode sounded like Inspector Maguire, and I'm positive a lot of people must've had the same problem with Hohenheim sounding like Piccolo.
There have indeed been some good VAs. Hence the absolute fan outrage when 4Kids lost Pokmon.

Like Luffy? *shot*
i never really picked up on 4kids losing pokemon, but i did notice even in commercials that Ash's VA has changed.
i thought Hohenheim sounded like piccollo, but i never was sure of it. the voice suited him well though. it was deep yet oddly deppressing, which i imagined that hohenheim's voice would soundlike given his kind of sad past.
Does this mean 4Kids dubbing is dead, and Sonic games won't be dubbed by them? They have a few good voices but most of their VAs are awful.
I'd say that 4Kids have good voice actors, its just that (besides the small selection and not wanting to use anyone else outside the company) they would mostly choose the wrong voices for the characters or they might be good but their script is horrible. They also had the bad idea of stereotyping mostly into either texans whenever somebody wears a cowboy hat in their first appearance (Nico Robin) or into New Yorkers (Sanji)
With all the crap done in each episode, its hard not to knock down on the voices, especially if there is a room full of people with grating voices speaking to the others by their changed names and cuts with synth made music always blaring along with bad, kiddie jokes. What makes it worse is when you know what's supposed to happen.
A few people might not know, but they actually had a -good- voice for Vector in Sonic X when he had his first appearance. But for some weird reason he was switched in his next appearence with his current, grating one that in turn got featured in the dubbed games.
Edit: Hmmm...this seems interesting. It seems the one who did Nico Robin's voice was none other than the VA that played Ash Ketchum (not to mention also his mother, May, and April O' Neal from the TMNT 2003) Yet they turned her voice into a southern accent? You can search the rest here.
Well it's about danged time this finally happened, man.
