Because, of course, obsessive RPers, like yourself, ALWAYS read the previous posts

Hey, you can care about old threads and not be an RPer. But if you don't care about past threads, you're obviously not an obsessive RP nut.
Fair comment. Unless you are an obsessive RP nut, but you didn't like the old threads so you don't care that they're gone. But that's just breaking up a couple of rabbits.
Tee hee...Craig gets punched and I get away with it. I love being the invisible forumer.
And why do only gold communities get this extra credit? It's not like the other communities weren't affected too.
Free service and software is almost invariably provided "as-is" and is exempt from live support. People running free communities are getting a hell of a lot more service than I'd give them. If it were me, I'd say tough luck.
And if past threads don't concern you, Cycle, then you're not an avid RPer.
Ask yourself this question: does forum roleplay truly matter to your wellbeing in the grand picture? Twenty years from now when you're eating moon cakes and trying on rocket boots, will you look back on your life and think, "Man, I'm glad I spent those countless hours RPing"? If I lost my main World of Warcraft character, sure, it'd be a drag, but understanding the unfortunate realities of computing I'd accept the fact that it's gone and start over. In the digital age, data loss can and will happen to anyone.
Ahhh @ the wackiness in many of the archives being popped
...that we didn't lose more than we did, be grateful that the nice people at EZboard (they have to be nice to put so much extra time into restoring what they did) were able to do anything at all, and move on.
I'm an RPer too, but as I stated before, this isn't the first time stuff like this has threatened. We'll build it back up. Honestly, a lot of the bigger threads were just getting too bulky and too complicated to be properly maintained anyway, and this gives us a fresher start where we can reshape things.
So, since the restoral is basically over unless individual forumers come forward with their archives, time to move on.
Frankly, I couldn't care less about the threads. The history is all in my heart, and that's what counts, that we remember.
...On a related note, thanks to the hack, my spam topic is spammier than ever. Thank you, unknown posts!
Now, let's go back to psting, hmm? 🙂
I could care less about the threads
COULDN'T!
Cooki, you rock my socks. **hugs**
Besides, it's not really posts that matter on a board, it's the people who make them. And you can always make more posts to be remembered and archived (and hopefully not deleted again XD)
It happened, things were lost, but hey, life goes on, right? ^_^ All you can do is hope it doesn't happen again.

@ Cooki and Craig's little grammatical number. I can imagine the spam has increased in your thread Cooki, lol. And wow ezboard did very well, IMO. I mean I didn't expect this much to come back...I thought we'd have to reconstruct, straight over, begin anew(you get it i'm sure). So my home is back. *snuggles*
Finally, the board is open again.
I basically agree with what everyone else said about posts still being missing, though. Those messages might be gone for now, but the history is still there.

Spelling police on the other hand...
Where's Sailor Grammar when you need her?
Grammar is wonderful. So are well-broken paragraphs, correct spellings and a total absence of mixed metaphors.
When I see incorrect spelling and grammar on the board, I long for the days when I was an admin and could edit people's posts to have correct spelling and grammar...
*sighs*
MC Hammer says
What's that got to do with anything?
Isn't it typical that just a few days before the attack, I deleted all my temporary files to try and make more space?
I mean, I'd probably have had a wealth of RP pages - and lots of other pages too - and now they're gone, all gone...
...you were an admin? o_O

Not here she wasn't.

The pic does, because of the discussion on grammar.

Lord Almighty, that gave me quite a scare. Thanks for the infos.
It was the good old days of a Lion King RP board. =O
Ho ho.
