"Kim Possible," the Emmy Award-winning Animated Series, to Resume Production for Fourth Season

Walt Disney Television Animation to Produce 22 More Episodes of International Comedy/Action Hit

BURBANK, November 29, 2005 - Disney's "Kim Possible" the animated hit comedy/action series from Walt Disney Television Animation, will resume production for a fourth season (22 new episodes), it was announced today by Gary Marsh, President, Entertainment, Disney Channel Worldwide.

A worldwide hit, "Kim Possible" is from multiple Emmy nominated creators/executive producers Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle. Emmy nominee Steve Loter also returns as director and producer of the fourth season. "Kim Possible" is seen on Disney Channel, Toon Disney and the ABC Television Network's "ABC Kids" daypart.

Marsh said, "Mark, Bob, Steve and the entire team have delivered a great combination of comedy and action with an empowered female role model who uses her brain, heart and expertise to save the day."

Viewer's connection to "Kim Possible" has led to a successful off-TV franchise for The Walt Disney Company including Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable characters at Disney Parks & Resorts and Disney Consumer Product's line of "Kim Possible" branded products available at mass retailers nationwide.

Disney has entered into a multi-year agreement with Europe's strongest and widest reaching children's platform, Super RTL, which broadcasts "Kim Possible" and will, in coordination with Disney Consumer Products, be responsible for "Kim Possible" licensed product spanning multiple categories in Germany and other German-speaking countries. The license for "Kim Possible" branded home entertainment, interactive games and print categories will continue to be represented by Buena Vista Home Entertainment, Buena Vista Games and Disney Publishing. Super RTL is owned in equal shares by The Walt Disney Company and the RTL Group and reaches about 95 per cent of all the 35 million TV households in Germany.

The visually striking "Kim Possible," winner of one and nominated for eight Emmy Awards since its June 2002 premiere, tells the story of an average high school cheerleader, Kim Possible, who, in her spare time, happens to save the world from super villains. With the aid of her enthusiastic pal Ron Stoppable, his pet Naked Mole-rat Rufus, and their friend, the resourceful webmaster Wade, this contemporary heroine is capable in ways few high school students ever imagine. On the flipside, she realizes that defeating the bad guys comes easier than coping with the typical teen pressures of schooling and socializing.

Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle said, "We are delighted that we have the opportunity to answer the fans who have demanded to know what happens to Kim and Ron after their "happily ever after."

Fourth season highlights, from McCorkle and Schooley, are:

It's senior year now, so the stakes are raised. Dating changes everything for Kim and Ron. As if first love isn't challenging enough, they have mean queen Bonnie Rockwaller trying to sabotage them at every opportunity. She just can't stand to see Kim happy, especially since her boyfriend, Brick, has graduated and gone off to college.

On missions, we'll introduce colorful new villains and bring back some favorite allies. Now that Wade has finally gotten out of his room, he'll be dropping in personally to present Kim and Ron with new inventions and techno gear. In one episode, when the crime gets personal, Monique suits up and jumps into action alongside Kim. Once she gets a taste of real action, Monique becomes a valuable asset to Team Possible with her fashion skills applied for undercover disguises.

At school, Kim's senior year social scene will take a turn for the cursed when her rambunctious genius brothers skip a few grades into Middleton High. Kim will meet a mysterious relative, whose appearance will force Kim to make a dramatic choice. We'll also see more of Ron's home life this season, as his only child status comes to an abrupt end.
In addition to an Emmy Award and 8 nominations, the series other accolades are from the Parents' Choice Foundation, the International Animated Film Society's Annie Awards and Italy's 2003 Pulcinella Award for Best Program and Best TV Series for Children.

Actors providing the voices are Christy Carlson Romano as Kim Possible; Will Friedle as Ron Stoppable; Nancy Cartwright as Rufus; Tahj Mowry as Wade; Gary Cole as Dad; Nicole Sullivan as Shego; John DiMaggio as Drakken; Raven-Symone as Monique; Jean Smart as Mom and Kirsten Storms as Bonnie Rockwaller. The main title song is performed by Christina Milian.

"Kim Possible" airs daily (5:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel in the U.S. It also is televised weekdays (7:30 a.m., ET/PT) and weekends (3:00 and 4:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Toon Disney. On the ABC Television Network, it airs Saturday mornings (11:00 a.m., ET/10:00 a.m., PT) as part of the "ABC Kids" showcase

Personally, if this is the BEST NEWS OF 2005, then 2005 must have been one very lousy year.

It's not that this is bad news, it's more that this is news that hardly sparks excitement in me.

I like the show. Definitely not the best news of 2005, but it's pretty cool.

Best news of 2005 for me? Well...that's personal. 😉

Hurrah for Disney cancelling decent and inventive shows like Filmore! which have an interesting concept, pop culture references and a setting which appeals to young and old alike while renewing teen pop trash with the same kiddy gags which have been recycled since Hanna Barbara!

not the best news for me, Hell i didn't even have good news this year.

but seriously this comes as a shock seeing as how disney is notorious for cancelling shows after making them movies.
Doug and Even Stevens come to mind when i say that.

Disney's version of Doug was an abomination. The original Nickelodeon show owned it.

This must be the 12th "The [best/worst] [thing] ever!!" thread in the past month. The ambiguous thread title hyperbole has gotten annoying.

I wish Doug was still going. In today's modern age he'd make the perfect spokesman for LiveJournal.

Doug: the original angsty blogger.

I'd link to some Punks and Nerds comics on this subject now, however they deal with some pretty above board rated themes :p

To be frank, I'm more inclined to agree with Craig here.

Okay, I guess it's time to admit a dirty little secret...

I'm a Kim Possible fan.

Okay, now sure when I first saw adverts, I thought "pfffah, typical teen trash girl power junk." But I was proved, for the most part, plesently wrong. I mean it dosn't hold a candle to Filmore, but it's still reasonably funnah.

So yeah, I'd love to see more Kim Possible...buuuuuuut, I'm doubtful on it. The third series didn't have the same funnah or kick as the others, and for me at least, just seem to be grasping at straws. Especially as it sort of, undid, the few episodes where Ron got solo greatness, by bringing in Kim showing he couldn't hack a rematch. *sigh*

And this one, well, the end of the movie tied everthing up nicely, as much as I want to see more, I have the feeling that it's going to have jumped the Sharks-with-lasers-on-their-heads. Still, not like it matters, I don't have a TV anymore o.o

Also, the Kim Possible Movie = Teh awesomeness.

Kim Possible's not that great a show. I suppose it's better than the jibblies, though.

ZoneZ is mad. Kim Possible is watchable, sure, but it's definitely not the best show Disney ever made. Nor is it the worst - there are many shows that tie for that dubious honour (Schnookums & Meat, Dave the Barbarian - even if the voice of Freakazoid is in it - and Recess spring to mind).

Though it is a nice change for Disney not to be cancelling shows...

Recess wasn't that bad of a show.

Which one? There have been 1 cinema, 1 video and a TV special, and as far as I'm aware the show is still being made. Though I do admit I was sort of shocked when I learned it. But most of the time yeah, it ends with the movie. Duck Tales is about the only other example I can think of which defies convention, or at least pre-dates it.

Yes, DuckTales being cancelled by Disney and *then* they decided to make a movie, as far as I can tell. I'm not a big fan of it for some reason (probably because Magica De Spell isn't in it), but the animation was of a very high quality, I'll give them that :)

Decided to search, I know Disney are premiering one of the movies (Christmas special) this holiday season, which mis-lead me, but upon actually taking the time to try TV.com I eat my words, swallow my hat and cry.

It ended like 4 years ago XD

I like Kim Possible so this is good news, but the biggest news for me is that it's rumored that Fox of Germany has arranged to release The Wonder Years on DVd in Fall '06 and summer '06 for US. Probably a lie, but I have faith. ^___^

Yeah. Boy Meets World was great. I love the Feeny call. That show should still be around. I guess it isn't too late for a lame reunion special.

well, happy days just had their reunion a couple of months back, so it's entirely possible for boy meets world.

i wouldn't mind it. i've only seen the actor who plays shawn in a movie or tv show since the end of boy meets world.

I've known about about this a couple of weeks ago so this is old news to me. It's not the best news of 2005 depite being a fan of the show. However, it is surprising to see Disney or all companings actually listening to fans and following through with their wishes.:lol

I don't know why this is a dirty little shamful secret especially considring you are announcing it on a Sonic the Hedgehog message board :lol There are lots of fans of Kim Possible that are of adult age including the MoFo who was the former head of this site Zifei(his DevArt gallery click here). Heck, the creators of the show were surpised to see a 90 year old fan of the show.

Season 1, 3, the movies, and certain episode of season 2 farts in the direction of your statement. I consider it one of the few good Disney shows that aired in this decade. Though I also do like Filmore! from what I seen of the reruns on Toon Disney.

Besides, Filmore! never had the huuuge fanbase Kim Possible has. Where the hell were the fans when that show got canned?
