You've seen the sort of thing I mean - those 3D projector thingies that allow you to see a three dimensional image from different angles and stuff. All the SciFi shows have it, heck even the Nicole computer, and the Freedom Fighter's tactical map display use the technology.
Is that cool or what?!
Now that's pretty funky, but it'll be a while before any practical household uses are developed, right? Penny Arcade's Gabe suggests it could make its first appearance for a video game system at next months E3.
"We always see a bunch of stuff that we had never even heard of until E3. In fact a little bird actually told me what Nintendo has up its sleeve this year and when he told me I punched him in the face and called him a liar. When he got back up he promised it was the truth, and I believe him. I don't want to say anything that will get anyone in trouble but I know I'll be heading to the Nintendo section first this year."
This little comment sparked off a lot of speculation, so Gabe followed up with this:
"Wow, I had no idea my little blurb about Nintendo's big plans for E3 would get everyone so excited. (...) I have contacted my source and I am trying to find out exactly what I can say without getting anyone in trouble. (...) Ill also say that its not a game. Ill let you guys know as soon as I find out more."
Curiouser and curiouser. Eventually someone on a forum reported the same rumour, so Gabe thought it safe to stop teasing and give up his info:
"Word has it that Nintendo will be showing off a new 3D display designed for the Gamecube."
Now keeping in mind that's just a rumour, how utterly cool could that be?
