I'm trying to find out whether there are any even provisional release dates for this in UK cinemas. IMDB appears to have nothing, although there are rumours that the DVD will be out in Japan in February. Apparently it opened in France on Jan 12th, lucky things!
For those who haven't heard about it, it's an animation loosely based on Diana Wynne Jones' "Howl's Moving Castle" children's novel. Sophie Hatter, a rather shy lass, manages to thoroughly annoy the Witch of the Waste and is cursed. The book tells how she cons her way into the Wizard Howl's employ, a wizard who has a reputation almost as sinister as that of the Witch of the Waste herself.
Basically, I loved the book and loved Spirited Away, so I figure I'm pretty likely to like this one. I know it's only very loosely based, but it'll still be great to actually see the characters. I'm just hoping I can get hold of a DVD with English subtitles, since a release date in the UK seems unlikely for some time.
Has anyone else here an interest in this movie?
