Look at what colour the safe you're trying to open is, and then head all the way to the top of the stage, which means grabbing the hoist past the Golden Beetle. There will be three switches here, each one corresponding to a colour section of safes (Blue, Red and Yellow). Those switches will unlock the safes you want.
Isn't there some cheaty way to get into it anyway if it's not lit up?
Today was even more painful than yesterday. Eggman's missions really messed me up and I somehow managed to get 3 Bs on City Escape. Full report:

Saturday: 14:10 - 00:48; 180 @ 14:08:13. Eggman -> Sonic & Shadow -> Kart{with shadow's batman car that i unlocked half an hour or so earlier} -> Boss
That was more a test of endurance than anything. I guess you could say that I didn't really manage to finish before Sunday, lol. Screw you, Eggman levels.

As for me, I'm throwing in the towel. I woke up this morning and couldn't bare the thought of playing another minute of that game. Instead, I'm going to eat greasey food, drink beer and watch adult movies. Now that I could easily do for three days.

It's 9:51pm, my time, and I've given up. I was at a major disadvantage, due to missing pretty much all day Friday and Saturday. I tried my hardest, but reality set in, and I gave up.

I'm getting screwed over on the Eternal Engine, Final Rush/Chase, Crazy gadget and Cannons core time missions, I'll try them again after I've done the remainer of the hard mode hunting levels. Still only have 4 chao emblems because I only have one neutral chao that is half decent. Screw A rank emblems, I've never got them before and I sure ain't gonna try and get them now.
