Nothing all that strange happens, other than there's no stage #. Must be the fabled "Stage 0". Only one way to find out!
EDIT: yeah, this is level 0 - normal completion just yields level 1.
Is...Is tails coming on to us there?

You are half right SH. The level is 134217728.
THERE IS NO 134217729. This is the highest you can get.
Sure the level isn't unique, but each sector is tedious time wasters to the point when you reach the 4th one on your list you will be too fast to react.
Also that is an unedited screenshot above. Even the sonknux balls are real. Glitched, but real. That's what I get for warp speeding them back and forth and error passwording them.
And to think that I ever had a goal to beat all of those levels. Wow that's a lot of levels.
I recall mentioning something blue spheres about this back in '05.

Took a bit, but cleared both the level from the first post and the one from the previous post^^
Don't have any codes for trying to stump people, though o.o (Just have the ones for the first 5-6 levels or so, and now the one for the level after the code from the above post (which I haven't gotten around to trying yet, so dunno what that one's like).)
Someone do a tool assisted run of the blue spheres level I want to see what happens when it is completed.
Man, I remember getting perfects in 100 stages >< That got fantastically annoying. So i quit.
