Well they didn't really have much to work with.
Back on topic, does anyone just want me to reveal the answer?
Just reveal it, a combination of bad phrasing and lack of interest in the Game Gear titles seems to have killed the pacing.
I don't know the answer because I don't have the patience or love to play the GG games, they bore me. I know it isn't a mainstream Mega Drive game, because I know those pretty darn well.
There could be misconceptions though... just INCASE of those...
I can imagine someone legitimately believing Lava Reef counts as an answer for this due to the ice freezing over at the end of the level and you running through the tunnel, but that IS act 2.
I can also imagine "Marble Garden" being used, as you get to face Eggman prior to the end of the level, even if it is Zone 2 still.
Launch Base seems to be the only time you can attack Eggman directly in stage 1.
Fair enough. I really didn't think it'd be that hard.
The answer I was waiting for was Sunset Park from Sonic Triple Trouble. You enter the second act and play through as normal. When you reach the train finish the act, the end-of-act panel disappears and the train starts moving. You continue on until you reach the engine boss at the front of the train.
The reason I said you don't enter the final act is because if you beat the boss the first time, you don't see an act three title card. You only see it if you die.
So I guessing questions involving the Game Gear games should be avoided, right?
New question now. This should be easy. What is the name of the first Badnik in the Sonic series?
Motobug!
Correct. Your go.
Someone else can have it.
DIBS!!!
According to a sound test graphic and a commercial, Sonic did different activities in the field of Music. What two roles did he play? (Source: www.theghz.com)
Rapper and DJ if I'm not mistaken.
Yer close but no cigar =P
During the ditched Sonic 1 soundtest he was the lead singer.
In Sonic 2's Level Select soundtest and Sonic Adventure 1's artwork he is a DJ.
Sonic CD's hidden artwork has him as a rapper.
Sonic Underground (given the record for questions being straight in this thread, can be disguised under the term "commercial") he has a guitar, I remember seeing some artwork with one aswell, but it's been a while since I surfed Gems art.
Meh, you win again =P.
I didn't know about the rapper part though, I was looking for lead guitarist and DJ.
That means that Sailor Rose should go...
Whoever wants it the most can have it, lol.
Alright then, what animal prototype do Sonic and Ristar have in common?
Rabbit, I think.
Yep.
What two levels have a end of act panel on the left handside of the screen?
Gimmik Mt. Zone (Sonic 2 gg) is one, and I'm not to sure but I think the other one is in Sonic Blast/G Sonic I haven't checked that recently.
It was agreed to no longer feature GG games in this about half way through due to people not caring about the questions and no1 knowing the answers. HMM new question..in the fleetway comics what made Super Sonic became Super unstable (by unstable i mean where he totally goes crazy and starts plotting to destroy everything).
Blue Blur, that was a light hearted request, not a rule. It's not your turn, please do not try to jump the gun.
Also, be aware that this is South Island and all questions should be SegaSonic related
How dare you suggest the game gear games don't count, then bring in an out of place sonic comic question. The game gear games are just a part of the series as the main consoles. You might as well say that the other handhelds don't count, like Sonic Rush. I might be bias since I grew up with the game gear instead of the genesis, but still.
HEAR HEAR
I almost wanna say Silver Castle? It's been so long my memory may be totally whacked on that.
I think GT should get the next go cuz he answered first and also this the closest I've ever seen to him ranting. o0 (I can understand why tho, Game Gear ate up batteries something fierce but it was fun, had a good-size library, and the screen PWND original yellow LCD Game Boy.)
I also agree with GT. There is no reason why the Game Gear games should be discounted. I recall them being allowed in all of the other "Name that ______" threads, and no one complained.
Well, I'm sure some complained (read: me, for never having played them), but no one really cared to remove them.
GT the Magikoopa is very close to having the answer!
Gimmick Mt. Zone certainly is one of the two and the other one is indeed from Sonic Blast/G Sonic! But not Silver Castle..
Yellow Desert?
Just as I thought. After playing the game it was Yellow Desert Act 2. I actually knew it was this level but I hadn't played the game before in ages so I didn't want my memory failing me.
Edit: Dang it! GRA!! >_<
It seems MattManic was a few minutes faster than you GT.
Yellow Desert is the right answer.
So what are we going to do? There can't be two winners (and I say this as it was my fault in the first place)
GT can have it, I was just guessing anyway. =p
Alright, lets finish this whole mess off with a real easy one:
What was the first sonic game to have a land map that appears inbetween zones to show your character's progress throughout the game?
Sonic the Hedgehog, Master System/Game Gear
Yep. Your turn.
In which zone/act is the only speed shoes monitor in Sonic 3 located?
I'm gonna have to go with...
Launch Base Zone?
Yes, that's right, I remember getting them with Supersonic once.
But only now I realize it is the only one in the entire game. o.o
Nope, not Launch Base.
Carnival Night? I seem to recall finding one there.
Yup, that's it =D
What? I'm pretty sure there is one in Launch Base! It's in Act 2. I sometimes get it when I'm Supersonic..
And I remember finding the speedshoes monitor in Launch Base act 1 and at Marble Garden act 1.
I don't get the question. Was it "name the sonic level I am thinking of and you win?"
Perhaps we're playing the "Sonic 3 & Knuckles" version of "Sonic 3", and Matt was talkin' about just regular ol' "Sonic 3". OR it's backwards =P
Okay, I obviously screwed that question up =p. I've never in all of my years of playing Sonic 3 come across more than one speed shoes monitor. Now my curiosity is piqued, I'm gonna have to go look through Launch Base and Marble Garden.
Um, at any rate, GT or Elias or Erika or Sailor Rose can take the next question.
I should have it since I was first to guess =P
Okees, Sonic Team of America changed this character's name when they came to the US.
Ironically, the character who's name was given to the other character's persona ended up getting what the other character wanted.
If it's confusing to anyone than that's what I was hoping for =P
What is the name of the character who came to the US, and what did said character not get that the character's name that they borrowed had (for a while I guess)??
what.
I believe he's talking about the whole Fang->Jet->Nack thingamajigger.
Nope.
If the whole thing doesn't make sense, just grab the important parts in it and the rest will be clear ^_^
Amy Rose/Princess Sally.

Amy was named Amy Rose in Japan, but was called Princess Sally in the US manual for Sonic CD.

Sally got Sonic, Amy didn't. =p
Correctamundo, Matt!
Go ahead and take yer turn ^_^
With respect to release date, who was the eleventh playable character to be introduced?
(This includes characters who became playable in later games, eg. Robotnik or Amy)
1. Flicky (the original blue bird)
2. Sonic
3. Eggman/Robotnik
4. Tails
5. Amy
6. Metal Sonic
7. Knuckles
8. Eggrobo
9. Fang/Nack
10. The Chaotix??? X_x;
Wait! I forgot about SegaSonic! Mighty and Ray have to go in that list somewhere!
That would add two in so the 9th would become 11th.
So Fang/Nack it is.
