Yeah... you need to learn the definition of the term "canon" if you're going to ask a question like that and then refuse legitimate answers like those which have been given.
Guys, stop chewing him out.
I remember Nack being called Jet...a loong time ago.
Wuts important is that we have FUN right =D?
but it wasn't exactly fair. it was something no one was gonna say or think of
<Shrug>
Ah dunno. Let's tie him up and burn him then xD
Just foolin', Matt =P
Wasn't the Fang->Jet->Nack thing mentioned in this thread before? And now nobody heard of it?
Then again, I can see where the "not cannon" comes into play.
So who's going to take the next ambiguous question?
From Wikipedia:
Quote:
The character was originally conceived as Fang the Sniper, the name by which he was known in the Japanese Sonic games, but this was changed for American and European releases to Jet the Sniper, until eventually Sega settled for Nack the Weasel. Although he is still known under both the Japanese and American names, he has been named Fang the Sniper in all of the most recent games.
If you're going to complain about Wikipedia being unreliable, then go edit the article yourself.
Next question is up for whoever wants it.
I wrote:
"Jet" was ... a beta name
I already covered it. Regardless, it's still not canon, unless Hidden Palace being in Sonic 2 is now canon.
I CALL IT I CALL IT!
Uhh...something <i>really</i> legit...
KK-
In this Sonic cartoon, Sonic lived in a a very odd home that was never ever given explanation.
What did Sonic live in and what was the surrounding land called?
*throws a pop fly into the bleachers*
Oh dear...its not Christmas Island and a beach hut, is it?
I have no idea.
A crashed plane on South Island, as per the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA?
Ta-da! Shadow Hog is victorious.
(I'd still like to know WTF they're doing living in an abandoned plane. Still, it's a nice island =P)
Tails has fought numerous enemies over the years, but even a few that Sonic's never seen. Name all the enemies he's fought in his own games.
I don't think this is a complete list, but here goes *waits for somebody to fill in what I miss, snake the prize, AND correct spelling in true know-it-all manner*
From Tails Adventure
Mecha Golem (boss, fought twice, same name for both?)
Dr. Furkurkov (boss)
"Speedy" Kuku (boss, fought twice)
Great Battle Kuku (boss)
Red Battle Kuku (reg enemy)
Blue Battle Kuku (reg enemy)
Mini Battle Kuku (reg enemy)
Nezu Mice (reg enemy)
From Tails Sky Patrol
Wulf (boss)
Bearringer (boss)
Carrotia (boss)
Witchcart (boss)
Just so I absolutely understand, games must have Tails in the title somewhere (no Triple Trouble or Riders or anything of the sort) correct?
Yes, I was thinking the games with "Tails" directly in the title. I was concentrating more on bosses, so you needn't have worried about the minor enemies - although kudos to you for doing so.
Anyway, wrong. By which I mean "mostly right (no, really, you're very close), but something's not quite there". Mostly spelling and parts of names which are curiously missing (for instance, his name isn't "Wulf"), really. Might be related to difference across a variety of sources, I dunno, but I'm sticking with the source I used to look it up unless you can give me a compelling reason to do otherwise (eg: "it came directly from Sega").
(As a hint as to which source, think of the places you could find me at. I suppose I haven't been too vocal about it, so here's another hint: you can also find Acid, VCP, Psxphile, John Barret, NeoYi and, occasionally, WB there, too.)
Was going with my spotty memory. I remembered him being a wolf, and sadly the only Wulf I could think of is Sabrewulf which is way the heck wrong (unless Tails' Killer Instinct got greenlighted without my knowing).
Internet cheating reveals his name to Fockewulf. How fitting. Also I think Great Battle Kuku and his son needs some sort of roman numeral. Fifteen and sixteen: XV and XIV? High school math why do you still mock me!
That's correct.
Now, to be specific, you're missing the numbers on the ends of Speedy and Battle Kukku's names. I'll let Dr. Furkurkov and Bearringer slide (they're actually "Dr. Fukurokov" and "Bearenger", respectively).
Lesson learned: never throw away the manuals.
Okay, name a badnik who's obsessed with eggs but isn't Dr. Eggman/Robotnik/any other name you wanna give him. In fact Sonic never faces THIS guy!
EDIT: Ok Shadow Hog, the numbers were 15 and 16. Battle Kukku XVI and Great Battle Kukku XV.
Er... you're still missing the numbers. >_>;
Ed: Right. Carry on.
Duude Shad Hog, that is a VERY evil question.
I'm not even gonna think about attemping it x_x
O' course, anyone who does answer will be getting their info from ghz or sonichq =P
Okay, name a badnik who's obsessed with eggs but isn't Dr. Eggman/Robotnik/any other name you wanna give him. In fact Sonic never faces THIS guy!
Humpty. From Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.
Ayep, you got it GT.
Heh, I knew that right away only because of my research for the next question I was going to ask. So here it is:
---
You may or may not know that the 12 Badniks in Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine are taken from the pilot/first episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. I want you to name them all...however list them in the order as they first appear in the episode (minus the tv show's usual opening of course)
For extra points/challenge/misson, include Dr. Robotnik's first appearance as well in that list (he would make it 13 in all)
Careful, most come either "theren'gone" in a blink of an eye or come all at once. Trust me, I went ahead and found them all already.
Hooboy, GT. That's a doozy. But I'll try. All I can say is thank heaven for YouTube. I wasn't sure if Scratch and Grounder's appearances at the start of the episode counted, so that's why they're on the list twice.
Scratch
Grounder
Dragon Breath
Robotnik
Spike
Sir Ffuzzy-Logik
Humpty
Skweel*
Dynamight*
Frankly*
Davy Sprocket*
Arms*
Scratch
Grounder
Coconuts
Those marked with a "*" did appear together in one shot, but I ordered them by their second appearances.
Yeah, all that you described was running in my head as well...how am I going to do this? The flashback might confuse people to where to start. Should I do it by in show time or cartoon's actual length time? Not to mention how jumbled up they come in near the end its hard to tell who's first. Should I say list them by when they get defeated? No Humpty, Spike, & Sir Ffuzzy-Logik appear in the crowd and don't get defeated. Ak, what should I do?
Anyway, I am going to give it to you. Despite me trying to be specific without sounding mundaine, I guess it was still kind of impossible with the group together. Here's my list:
1. Scratch
2. Grounder
3. Dragon Breath
-Dr. Robotnik
4. Spike
5. Sir Ffuzzy-Logik
6. Humpty
7. Skweel
8. Dynamight
9. Davy Sprocket
10. Arms
11. Frankly
12. Coconuts
Your go.
Good. I was afraid I'd have to go back and watch the episode again.
Okay. Next question.
What lost item in Sonic 1 would have allowed Sonic to breathe underwater? GHZ will do you no good for this.
an air bubble shield?
It was this one snorkel/visor. People at first didn't know what it was, its item box having like a blue "lopsided bean" shape.
I am doing this entirely from memory, no back internet search to see if any of what I said was true n_n;;;
You must have a very good memory then, GT. You're right. It was a pair of goggles.
Your go.
Great, now I don't have one prepared. ;_;
*scrounge scrounge scrounge*
Alright, I have one.
WHO'S THAT BADNIK'EMON???
...body?
Isn't that the Rexon from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)?
That's what the sucker's called in my instruction booklet, anyways.
Can you believe I managed to get that from memory alone? Too easy!
EDIT: I just took the time to track down its Japanese name as well. It's Saura.
You're wrong! It's...
MYOWWW
Don't forget the EliteBoard!
Actually, sonic332 is correct. ^_^ I just didn't think anybody would answer it so quickly! Just when you think it is safe to go back in the water...its Attack of the White Leftover Pixels of Doom!! Coming soon to a theater near you!
One or more of this type of 'bot actually has tears in its eyes in a cutscene. Name the 'bot, game, and cutscene.
Don't know if it is the quality, but I will have to say the Mechabu (JPN name) from sonic cd in the ending.
Darn... that was the most evil question I could come up with, too...
So I guess that means I got it n_N?
Yeah. Easy come, easy go, as they say.
Ok! As per my last over the top question, this next one will try again to go against the norm! Last time you had to use your eyes, this time you need to use your ears!
Ooh, clever question GT. I'm just gonna take a stab in the dark and say Sonic CD, since it sounds an awful lot like either Wacky Workbench or Metallic Madness.
Hoo-hoo-hoo~!
I'm sorry, but I'm not going to be as lenient this time...your answer is too vague, this isn't Guess Who!
Sonic CD-related Sonic Boom soundtrack. Must be a remix of Quartz Quadrant BF/GF (US version)?
I never downloaded that soundtrack... I probably should. I prefer the JP version, sure, but the US one has its moments.
You have the right idea Shadsie, but no cigar.
Sonic Boom's remix of Wacky Workbench - Good Future.
>sigh< correct. Your turn.
In which games, and what levels, has the original Green Hill Zone music been used?
Sonic 1 - Green Hill
Sonic 1 (GG) - Green Hill
Sonic 2 (drx Prototype) - Green Hill (it's rather broken, though)
Sonic Jam - Green Hill (part of Sonic 1)
Sonic Adventure 2 - Green Hill (the bonus stage)
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle - Green Hill (again)
Sonic Mega Collection - Green Hill (part of Sonic 1)
Sonic Adventure DX - Green Hill (part of Sonic 1 (GG))
Sonic Battle - Green Hill (another bonus stage)
Sonic Mega Collection + - Green Hill (part of Sonic 1), Green Hill (part of Sonic 1 (GG))
Sonic Advance 3 - Sunset Hill (includes Map, Act 1, Act 2 and Act 3 variations)
Sonic Gems Collection - Green Hill (part of Sonic 1 if you fail the final boss fast enough and start a new game), Green Hill (same for Sonic 1 GG)
I'm pretty sure that's the comprehensive list. I'm not familiar with Sonic Drift's music, but I don't recall it matching up; also, I'm assuming we're not counting pirates, in which case, Somari also counts (in that game's Green Hill Zone, naturally).
I would have accepted Sonic 1, Sonic 1 GG, SA2, Battle, and Advance 3 =p.
Anyhoo, your go, SH.
I feel sinister.
Name this fangame.
I thought this trivia game was only for canon questions.
Who knows how legal the question is but:
I remember seeing a video on youtube based with Retro Sonic. It was called Eggman Garden or something, but I can't find the video now. The picture above looked close to that from my memory.

Where exactly does it say that, then?
Either way, GT got it first try. Surprising, since nobody could get it back when I put it in "Name that Game" so long ago.
