Oh ho, what's this? I wonder what this "franchise changing" news could be? Speculation on BK already thinks it could be a new cartoon,etc. Kinda hoping for a movie myself, but needless to say, I'm defintely looking forward to Thursday just hope the news isn't underwhelming like the whole "which character will appear in Sonic 4" dealio.
it better be about making sonic colors easier. that was so mean of them lifting my hopes up and destroying my dreams by making such a hard game.
Umm, did you even read the article, Mada cuz it specifically says, "which won’t be particularly about the games." Besides, you can't say that it's "such a hard game" as you haven't played it and have no idea how hard it is besides watching a few vids.

yea, I read about that at Sonic Stadium..apparently its not really that big. Still hopefully it will be somthing decently suprising.
It's prolly either:
- New voice actors
- A new Sonic logo

It appears that Jason Grifith is not voicing Sonic in Colors so maybe they are changing the VAs.

Well anyway. I kinda feel uncomfortable about bring up voice acting because I assume it's still taboo. But watching some of the gameplay clips, Sonic never speaks but he utters small sounds whenever he jumps or changes rails. Still sounds just like Griffith. Though this could be Sega simply using his voice as a temporary place holder but in a way I find that unlikely. I don't think they've gotten rid of anyone.
O_O Robo's right. Well for Sonic 4 atleast. I'm pretty sure in Colors he will though. I wonder how they'll do "storytelling" in Sonic 4. It never really crossed my mind til Robo said that.

Roger C. Smith? Must...resist...Big O joke...but, this hardly strikes me as something that will change the whole franchise. Sonic '06 would have been none the better for competent voice acting.
Sega, alert me when you have Naka, Ohshima, or Yasuhara working for Sonic Team again. That will be franchise-changing news.

An interesting choice. I expected someone from the 4KIDS voice actors pool so this was surprise. I gonna miss Jason Griffith. Here hoping the new guy does a good job.
Ugh I think the title should be changed. This isn't franchise changing at all. But apparently they replaced the entire 4kids cast save Pollock.
*Title changed* However, it is franchise changing. Technically, when you look at it, even a new game is franchise changing cuz it adds a story that wasn't there before. At least, that's how I see it.

I hope Griffith and the other 4Kids actors got more of a warning that they were being dropped than Drummond and the Adventure voices got.
Btw according to his Facebook page Pollock has move to L.A. which might explain why he was only one they kept.
I'm perfectly fine with the voice acting change here, especially Sonic's. Jason Griffith might have been slowly getting the hang of things, but I'd MUCH rather prefer Roger as Sonic, considering his past roles. Chris Redfield, Ezio Auditore? Those characters were in triple A games, and the acting was superb. It's about time Sonic got the same treatment.
Interesting... I remember thinking the 4Kids people sucked back when I saw Sonic X, then gradually warming at least somewhat along the way of the games. Maybe I was just being too hard on them back then, but I'm pretty certain they really did suck back then and they simply got better by the recent games. Or maybe I just think so because even though I liked the previous cast, I now realize the acting in the Adventure to Heroes wasn't too great either. Pollock was a notable exception, and I'm happy to have him be Bristow's successor. I will NOT be missing whoever (and I'm not gonna bother to look it up) did Tails, because good god I HATED his voice. Anyway, I'm not familiar at all with either of the two NEW choices, so I can't comment.
Well, it IS sorta franchise-changing when you get someone else to play a character that was played by someone else multiple times. It's like anouncing who the next Bond is gonna be.

I can't really say one way or the other whether I like this choice, because I haven't played Assassin's Creed 2 and don't care about Resi 5, but I will say that I would find SEGA completely changing it's voice directing methods to be more like those at Konami to be much more exciting news. I can't think of one game that has great voice acting that SEGA released in English, even Yakuza that had some big VA talent was pretty aweful.

Did you listen to the "better" version? The voice from the clips of the theme park were horrible, but that clip, at the correct speed and pitch, was pretty darn good.
I liked his voice, personally. It feels a tad bit too deep at times, but I'm sure it'll sound better, maybe more refined when he does the voice over for an actual game.

Anyway, I think you know what I meant; he'll sound better for a game which while made to appeal to kids also appeals to a wider audience than a ride at a park. Kate Higgins also plays Udon, the snot-nosed kid that is friends with Konohamaru, so that might give some idea of how her Tails might sound like.

Yeah, good luck with that I tried to find one, but it was a very short part he spoke; than again, patience has never been one of my strong points so you might be able to look longer than I did. Anyway, you do know who I'm talking about right?
