Jesus, Sonic Riders had more Sega characters, and they weren't a selling point like these. Well, maybe all the Sonic will be diluted in further videos, etc.

- Seaside Hill (Sonic Heroes) is one of the stages.
- The final game will have over 20 stages
- Over 20 characters from Sega classic franchises as well as 20 power ups.
- Depending of the stage some vehicles will have the advantage over the others.

Over 20 characters? That'll be 22 then. If Big is the only addition from the SST Sonic roster all is well.

A lot of people want to see Ristar in one of these games. I reckon there are going to be 2 more Sonic characters in the game. Any more and they should have just done Sonic Riders 3.
I think the whole SST roster is going to be in the game except Pudding. And hopefully the roster is closer to 30 than 20.
I think the least of any Ristar fan's worries is that the character only got one game. There is probably worse things Sega could do to him.

This game will probably only feature 3 racers I remotely care about, and it's not like it's rare to get game appearances by Sonic, Tails, and Eggman.

Mmm looks like someone need to a refresher of Sega history. The "purple haired chick" is Nei from Phantasy Star 2 and the "Monopoly Man robot" is Sir Tongara de Pepperouchau III aka Pepper from the Sega Saturn's Clockwork Knight .
I think we have basically established that it doesn't take a whole lot to be a "great of SEGA."
Which is why the game title is so unintentionally LOLworthy. Kind of like an episode of dancing with the stars featuring Dustin Diamond and David Caruso.
With the exception of the Sonic series every good SEGA franchise has been more successful critically than commercially and most will probably not be in this game.

Even Sonic The Fighters had a story... of sorts. I mean, they had to explain why Knuckles was beating Amy's face in, right?
I wonder what evils Dr Eggman has planned for Sonic to make him drive a car? I mean in one game he forced Sonic to wear slow down shoes.
As far as I'm concerned, Ristar is one of the most underrated video-game characters of all time.

Though skeptical of the cast of this game, I've got to say that it's looking rather good in the gameplay department. Terrain advantages are a good idea, as is mixing up the vehicle types so much.

I mean after Nintendo; Sega and Capcom are the only companies that have a rich character history line up thing. Capcom seems happy just to pair up its characters with comic book/anime characters rather than just making their version of Super Smash. And Sega just cant seem to use its whole arse.

They could have got creative and used some Skies of Arcadia, Crazy Taxi, HotD, Phantasy Star, Valkyria Chronicles, Panzer Dragoon, etc. designed in SD form riding in their little ship/tank/landrover/dragon/whatever. Instead, 7 slots are dominated by Sonic characters and the rest are the standard cutesy mascot characters or ones that already appeared in the tennis game. Good job Sumo/Sega. 
It's a marketing tactic, plain and simple. Their reasoning: MOAR SONIC = MOAR SONIC FAN INTEREST = MOAR SALES. They ought to just cut the pretense and call it Sonic Drift 3.
