Summary:
Sonic the Hedgehog battles Dr. Robotnik in a 3-D Virtual Reality (VR) world.
Story:
While Sonic is away checking on a security alarm in a remote part of the Great Forest, his pals (Sally, Bunnie, Tails and Knuckles) have discovered a strange message from within one of Robotniks super computers. [Dr. Robotnik is trying to take over a computer VR world (Micro Mobius) and the message is a plea for help from its peaceful inhabitants.] Sonic returns to Knothole to discover that Robotnik has captured his friends and taken them into his VR world. Sonic attempts to save his friends and thwart Robotniks plan to reformat Micro Mobius.
It seems like this is website that knew what was in the game. They have story, some music, and even the ending.
I don't know if i should scream bloody murder or what. I wonder if it's that guy who was a developer of Sonic Extream just posted the EVERY thing about the Extream on the net.
And Nack/Fang is no were in art work. Im wondering if this was a prototype of the game.
And Haveing Sally and her crew in a game whould of caused problems, mainly because they need to expalain how Sally and crew popped in. And haveing the game and comic whould cause plot holes.
I wish they made Extream but not with archie.
Yeah, the Sonic X-Treme topic has been dead for awhile. I think most people that were interested in the new info stuck to the forums over there. That storyline was posted awhile ago.

Oh yeah expecially since Sonic Team always explain where characters like Big,Rouge,Cream,the Chaotix and the rest of Sonic friends come from

Fixed. The only character that has had any sort of backstory is Shadow and Knuckles to a lesser extent. Mainly because you don't need to know the details of when Mr Hedgehog looked at Mrs Hedgehog in a certain way and Sonic appeared later.

You know Archie/SATAM characters appeared in Sonic Spinball, too, and nobody made a fuss out of it. It was simply labeled un-canon and set in another universe.
It's that simple.
Im aware that Spin ball had SATAM and AOSTH in it. But i never finshed Spinball so feel free to bite my head off if im wrong - I thought they was caputured by Robotnic/Egggman, sonic defected the manchine and Sally and co popped out.
And to me it think some have a role and what not. IN MY OPTION!
Big was sleeping and Froggy ate the chaos emarald, which was inportent part of chaos. Big did'et know that and went on to find his buddy. No role in Heros was nessery.
Rouge was spy for the goverment and a tresuere hunter. I won't be surprised if she use her soner to find the M.E. and ran it to Knux and fighting over the emarald.
In the end she lied about quitting her job and reappeared in Battle, were she was still a spy and theif. Finding out about emarl by useing the Goverment computer to help her find artifacts. Now she have no place unless sega manage to surprise me with her being in Sonic (The game).
In chaotix, Vector, Charmy, Espio, Mighty were caputured by Robotnic lateist invention and knuckles was tryinng to stop him from stealing the M.E, he freed Espio and somehow found a power ring. But only to people chould use it, forceing Knux to team up with him. Heavy and Bomb appeared and helped after brecking free of Robotnic control, they distoryed Metal Sonic.
Heavy and Bomb was never seen with them again and Mighty went on traveling the world like he was before he met the Chaotix, or so he japan profile say that.
As for them appearing in Heros was unnessery, it was surpriseing and only there to make people happy.
I think Cream was put in games to make Girls and older Women play the games and prolly to even the odds of boys and girls in the sega world.
Bark and Bean deserved to be in the games due to there Hwatness and what not. THEY DESERVED TO BE THE GAMES BECAUSE OF THAT SO SHUT UP! 
I can go on but every one of sonic friends have a role in the games and what not.
But have a funny feeling someone gonna bit off my head off for being wrong and that im gonna start something because of this. So im gonna stop posting in this thread to prevent this from happing.
This whole concept seemed like a disaster--not because of the SatAM characters appearing in it, but because the whole thing was conceived by a focus group.
Which is why they largely dumped it for the later ones, of course.
I liked the idea of a lack of an official center of gravity, though. Done well, that could have been a VERY interesting gimmick.
