I was wondering what you guys considered the best Gamecube Sonic game? I've played all of them but SADX, and guess I'd have to say... eh, it's sort of a tie between SA2:B and Shadow the Hedgehog. Heroes was pretty good now that I think about it though... gah, I can't decide.

For me, the only one that has a chance is SA2B. Mainly because it's the only game I've been fully motivated to finish off after beating the main game - SADX, Heroes and Shadow all irritated me such that I rarely, if ever, wish to play them again, to be truly honest.

Unless of course this includes Mega Collection and Gems, in which case I'll probably say Mega Collection seeing as it contains the classic 3 (or 4, if you count Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles seperately). Too bad the GC's D-Pad's a little too small to use effectively (at least, it is for me). As for Gems...well, I've yet to play it yet soooo.

Adventure 2 Battle, without a doubt...

Heroes and Shadow both have their merits and problems, but none of them feel like classics the ay SA2:B does...
On the dreamcast it was a hard toss up for me whether SA1 or 2 was better, but the GC versions its, BY FAR, SA2:B....

I mean, it's got very decent graphics, decent voice acting, it's own original plot, and compartively bug free wheras SA:D X was a mess....

So, SA2:B for me, just edges out Gems collection. If they had combined Gems and Mega Collection i'd go for that, but neither's good enough on it's own...

Sonic Advance 3 and a Game Boy Player for the win... That doesnt count?

Erm, well Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is probably the best really. Because I feel it was put together quite well and the lack of super shiney characters looked better than Adventure DX and Heroes

Adventure DX didn't actually improve on the Dreamcast versions faults. But its not completely without its charm.

Shadow was a troubled time in Sonic's (mid life crisis) life where he said to Yuji Naka "You know I think its time for the new kid to have a go." He said that about Tails and Knuckles as well. Unfortuently Knuckles had to try and sell a 32X because Sonic actually hate Knuckles. Its tension because in real life Sonic and Amy (around Sonic R) were much in love Sonic sprains his knee and then Amy goes for the one with the extra EDGE and cheated on Sonic and now in the background they dont talk to each other much* Meanwhile Tails has adopted a "CAPTAIN CHARISMA" persona. Yeah, its like everytime Sonic has a new game Knuckles actually tries to kill him:
Adventure (he used the Eggman excuse)
Adventure 2 (Took over a space shuttle)
Advance (Designed and built a robot)
Advance 2 (The Slap Death O Matic)
Shadow (To be shown in the directors cut)
And Tails one word: edutainment. Plus the battery gulping Game Gear.
Mind you I havent played Shadow yet.

Heroes was meh. I liked the first six levels and then it gets meh. Then when you go for the A ranks its then you notice the problems. AND STEALTH fricken STEALTH. DAMN YOU KOJIMA!

If Mega Collection and Gems Collection was in one bundle that would win but they are a bit sparse on their own. Plus its not Mega Collection Plus. With added Hedgehog.

So yeah a long time ago I said Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.

*Adapted poorly from the real-life Matt Hardy, Lita and Edge love triangle. Tails = "The Canadian Rage" Christian Cage for great justis.

Sonic Mega Collection.
I found all the 3D games to be overblown, mediocre pieces of crap, to be quite frank.

Best GC Sonic game? That honor goes to either Sonic Mega Collection or Sonic Adventure DX: Dirctor's Cut, the only 3D sonic to really nail the feel of Sonic (not to mention _excellent_ unlockables). Sonic heroes was decent as well, but does not quite match up to the other two.

As for Sonic Adventure 2, that game blew chunks every which way if you ask me. Less than a quarter of the entire game stared Sonic or his gameplay, and what little levels that _did_ feature the Blue Blur also featured incredibly generic designs and _extremely_ linear paths. The music was asinine as well, IMO (just mindless hard rock, not suited to the Sonic universe). The character models were fine until a cutscene, and then...dont get me started. The story was pretty inventive, but thats all it has going for it if you ask me. My last gripe is that the levels were too based on reality. The whole thing didnt feel liek Sonic. Good level design = Sonic CD. That game (and the Megadrvie ones) featured fantastical zones that only the mind's eye could create. Instead, SA2 gives us a city, a harbor, ONE forest level, and like 15 space/spaceport zones. Bleh.

ehehe, sorry about that. I tend to get passionate about this series:nn;

SA2:B haad great music. Too bad Sonic Team didnt let you hear the full version on the game, so i can rip it from the game.;) . Sonic Adventure DX is like 2 games in one. If you are good and get the emlblems, you unlock a lot of the games in Mega Collection (or is it Gems, anyway they have too many collections.) The best thing about Heroes was the (spoiler free for those that haven't beat it yet, n00bs ;) ) apperance of (blank). And he looked pretty darn cool too. The badniks were kinda of dumb looking though. SA2:B had a nice tribute (though it was in the dreamcast one) to Chaos Zero with the articfical chaos. THe gun bots were neat too. Best song from SA2:B- Throw It All Away (Shadows Theme), second being E.G.G.M.A.N.
