I haven't played eiether, and everyone's like OMG I love Blaze.
So I figure a 3D Blaze is even better, so: Sonic-2K6 gets my vote.

No other Sonic game was as entricing and addictive.
Personally, I had more replay value out of Sonic 3. 
I thought Sonic 3 was disappointing by itself, but with S&K connected, it truly felt like an epic.
It's either gonna be Sonic Adventure, Sonic CD, or maybe Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles.
If Sonic 3 & Knuckles combined were in this tournament, it would probably have the best chance of winning.
I would have a hard time separating S3&K into its two games but S&K I think was the better of the two. I would listen to the midi versions of that game's music as if it was the freak'n radio.
Also: to heck with most of Rushes soundtrack. I don't understand the amount of love stupid random Japanese techno loops and distorted vocal tracks gets, the game was better muted. Same goes with the SonicCD's original soundtrack.
Heh, yer right Zack- S&K combined with Sonic 3 was really the "peanut butter" and "jelly".
Still, playing Knuckles was REALLY awesome. And S&K had the BEST Special Zone Setup of them ALL.
Wasn't it awesome to get into Hidden Palace Zone and suddenly seeing the same place you went to over and over again trying to obtain the Super Emeralds?

Sonic 2 for me. CD was fun, but I don't understand all the hype.
Sonic 2, because it was the lead up to S3&K.
I like Sonic 2, but with Time Travel, awesome boss fights, amazing Opening and Ending cutscenes, psychadelic music (JP and US versions).

I don't understand...Wrapped in Black, Bomber Barbara, they're addictive as hell, and I love both Sonic CD soundtracks equally, although the JP version makes more sense as it fits with the "Past" tracks!

I vote Sonic 2...it's a tough call, truly, but...yeah, Sonic 2.
I prefer Sonic 2 to Sonic CD anytime. Sonic CD was fun, I enjoy both soundtracks, but it just doesn't do it for me. I think it's because of the less vibrant colors in Sonic CD compared to Sonic 2.
Ouch. Well, going from what I played more of, and enjoyed the most ... I guess it'll have to go to Sonic 2.
Super Sonic? Introduction to Tails? It's so damn classic, but Sonic CD is definitely up there.

I dunno...Sonic 2 was my very first Sonic game, it's what introduced me to the series.
Super Sonic and Tails were so awesome...

Sonic CD...I mean, come on. It's the @#%$.
Sonic CD has to win, in my opinion. Metal Sonic and Amy, plus the anime cutscenes...and the music.

Sonic CD had nice gimmicks but gamewise Sonic 2 feels better. Better spindash, better last boss, Super Sonic, Tails, Two player.
I am for voting Sonic 2 game as best.

Although both of these games pretty much represent the pinnacle of Sonic gaming for me, I've got to vote Sonic 3, because as much as I love S&K, I've never been able to view it as more than an 'expansion pack' of sorts for S3.
even alone S&K had more epic moments in the last few stages than Sonic 3 had throughout, plus we get to see what Knux is doing when he's not harassing Sonic.

i vote for sonic 3 because its just so fun, but kind of short but still fun. it was hard to decide though i love both of them so much
Sonic 3! No! Sonic and Knuckles! I mean.. Sonic 3! But then again.. Sonic and Knuckles and.. urgh. x.x
Sonic 3 was awesome, but ended very abruptly.. Sonic and Knuckles had some of the awesomest stages ever.. Sandopolis, Lava Reef, Hidden Palace, Sky Sanctuary, Death Egg and Doomsday.. and it also could lock on to Sonic 2 to allow you to play as Knuckles there and to play endless get blue spheres in Sonic 1..
But if it hadn't been for Sonic 3 there would be no Sonic and Knuckles.. argh! >.<
I can't decide, Sonic 3 is not as awesome without having had the lock-on feature, but Sonic and Knuckles feels too "lonely" if you don't have Tails following you.
I guess.. I'll go with.. SONIC 3!
Because when I first played it I went so whoa! I remember I was at a friend's house. The chase scene in Angel Island, where Eggman's ship drops off those big bombs was so awesome! And he even burns the whole forest!
I remember the awesome times my friend and I had in Hydrocity, when we discovered that if Tails flied Sonic to the right just at the start of the level we got to a whole different path without getting into the water!
And then the dreaded Casino Night Zone barrel.. I remember that once after much jumping I finally made it through and made a time over just a few steps before reaching a star post. D:
And when I finally got to Ice Cap... wow..
The only thing that disappointed me was the sudden ending, the game seemed too short.
