Less than 8 hours ago, I wandered into a local shop, and low and behold, what do I find?
Brand spanking new, still sealed copies of Sonic R for the PC! (There was also still sealed copies of Sonic 3D for the PC as well, but they didn't really interest me).
It's unbeleivable that after all this time, there are still copies around!! Once I get access to the digital camera, I'll take some photos and post them here, so people may stare in awe. =P
(Alright, with the recent anouncement of Gems Collection, finding copies of R aren't really that big of a deal. However, if people would like to obtain a copy for themselves {Or of Sonic 3D}, I am more than willing to purhcase copies for them.)
This isn't a suprise. The Best Buy selection of games are pretty popular and sell well in all stores. I see Sonic R and Sonic 3D everywhere I go.
I'd be more shocked and happy if it were the ever elusive PC edition of Sonic CD.

you can still find sonic CD in stores, you just have to find the right pc store. try old stores that been around for a while, and i mean the really old ones where you can get super cheap discounts. those stores always have some copies lying around, since only a few people have ever bought from them.
Yes Craig, but let's remember where I live. =P
Downunda? :p
At any rate, I hope the copy got had the soundtrack. I purchased a set of old Sonic games at a computer show two years ago. The set included Sonic R.
Unfortunately, it did not came with the soundtrack. I don't know if that's good or bad (although I want everything, nothing missing).
I'd be more impressed if you found the Saturn version still sealed and brand new
At least this helps prove to all them people at GameFAQs who've argued with me over whether all the games on Gems Collection are rare... hell, some of them (read: one) argues that everything on Mega Collection is rare (reaction: HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA *gasp, pant, wheeze* HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!)...
Sonic 3, Knuckles and 3D for the Genesis aren't very common at all in the UK, actually...

Thats my problem! My Sonic R PC doesn't have any music at all! How I long to run thru Radiant Island and listen to Super Sonic Racing in the background of the antics of our golden hero! *sobs*
I once played "Back in Time" (or whatever it's called) on a media player, set it to loop, and then turned on Sonic R to race thru Regal Ruin. Dang I'm desperate... *sobs again*
Strange because my copy of Sonic R works fine with sound though it doesn't seem to like my XP driven lappy just like my Sonic CD...man I need patch pronto...and strangely it isn't all that uncommon to find large libraries of Sega and Nintendo games at stores where I live...we're old fashioned like that...
I've got XP and my Sonic R only works when in the DVD drive. When I put it in the Burner drive it starts up but everything on the main menu is X'd out. I dunno what the deal is. My Sonic CD has never worked on any PC though regardless of OS. *shrugs*
That reminds me, a charity shop down my street has both Sonic R & Sonic 3D for PC for about 2 each, if anyone would like me to pick one or the other up for them. I know this may be redundant with the Gems Collection coming soon, but you never know.
First come first served I'll test they work too before I send them on - I know my old laptop runs them, cos I have both myself.
EDIT: Just found Sonic & Knuckles Collection for PC in another local shop. I had no idea that was out over here.
