So we are having a "Sonic Team isn't as original as we thought" music thread? Ok with me. Here's one that I found you guys are probably not aware of compared to Psx's opening find.
Frogger 2 Swampy's Revenge Gold Mines
Marble Zone/Music To Watch Girls By just seems like coincidence to me. The rest are pretty awesome though.

You know SRA's Haunted ship and Frogger 2's gold mines? I think I found the source.
Oh my, it would appear British dance music was always the source of Sonic's greatness. Sure would help explain his ungodly popularity over there, and why I always preferred the Japanese soundtrack to Sonic CD.
GT, I salute thee for providing such interesting things for me to listen and muse upon.

Every Little Step I Take - Bobby Brown around the 0:45 mark
Of the ones that I noticed that I can remember at this point. I should totally check that Retro thread, but I sure one of them noticed this already.
It's hardly worth mentioning, but the only time I've ever listened to a Sonic songtrack and thought "Gee, that sure sounds familiar" was when I was playing Sonic Advance 3... specifically the first act of Chaos Angel.
More specifically, at these two points: 0:50 1:48
Listening to it again on Youtube, the song sounds so garbled you can hardly make out the specific notes. But on actual hardware and using headphones, you can make out something that sounds like this. (well, barely)
Again, very minor thing. But that was my own little "lol wut" Sonic music moment.
Im surprised nobody's pointed out the obvious Michael Jackson connection with Sonic 3, or has it's mentioning become so much of a cliche that everybody already knows about it?
Michael isn't the only Jackson who's had a soundalike on Sonic!
Bridge zone - Master system/Game Gear
Janet Jackson - Together again {Around 1:25 start}

Yes.
Also, it's not so much "weird similarties between MJ's music and Sonic", it's more "MJ wrote the music for Sonic".

Not true... Sega was going to have him do that, but decided against it due to all the controversy surrounding him and the molestation accusations and other things.
I have proved you wrong now
Thank you for this topic. I have just discovered the Sonic OVA soundtrack. Huzzah!
DW
I have just discovered the Sonic OVA soundtrack.
What exactly does that mean? I ask this because I was under the impression that the OVA's soundtrack, in its purest form, doesn't exist on the consumer level. Best you could get were recordings from the animation, with un-removable sound effects that play over them or midi recreations that try to pass themselves off as the real deal.
Or have you never seen the OVA in question? In which case, I suppose that is one way to "discover" it.
Yeah... it didnt make much sense
I have had an MP3 of the OVA's main theme "Look Alike" a few times, but it does play at the end of the movie with no interuption.
Crap. Psxphile, I sent you a link but it's the one you mentioned with sound effects. <__< A couple are free of it.
Yeah, I have the same mp3. Look Alike is the only track from the OVA you'll find like that. I think it was even distributed on a CD with other Sonic-related songs at one time, but I don't know for sure.
Okay, I read that PM you sent me... but you can't view links on that forum without registering. So this guy's trying to "remaster" the soundtrack? Think he succeeded? I listened to South Island (Long) on Youtube, sounds close but there's something odd going on near the end. And the audio seems to drop in volume at some points.
You mean that AWESOME part at the end of South Island (Long)? Yeah, I don't remember it from the movie. "Track 4": The President doesn't seem too distrorted. Over all the music reminds me of something between Sonic R and Sonic Adventure. It's pretty <3. What was this thread again? I don't even remember, sorry.
