What do you guys think? Should the Chao System return, or should we just skip it for the actual game? Me, I think they should keep it, but redo the system. Once you beat all the challenges, there's no real drive to it.
I was checking around the net, and someone mentioned something interesting about this... As an example, Cheese could be put in your Chao Garden. It would gain attack, and such, and then aid you in battle, thusly, if you used Cream. CHAO SUMMONS! *shot*
Anyway, your thoughts?
~Nytloc Penumbral Lightkeeper
I remember hearing something about a game devoted entirely to chao raising some time ago. A rumor now I'm sure. 😛
If that rumour was true it'd be heaven for the lackey, I adore Chao and would pay great sums of money for them to have their own game for me to raise them and pet them and love them and hug them and squeeze them tight and feed them everyday and say IloveyouIloveyouIloveyou ^.^
Elmyra's got nothing on me!
Yes I missed the Chao, I rather they get their own game then be in a Sonic game. I mean I think there potentail was held back in the adventure games, in a wide market it would be amazing.
YES.
I would love to see the Chao again. Hopefully they will be in the next major Sonic game (presumably not the Shadow one though, hehe )
Actually I hope they aren't, because then they will just remain some mini game I think there is potential it to be more than just that.
Would love to see Chao Garden too.
In Sonic Advance 3 you can only get into the Special Stages by rescuing all the Chao. It's not devoted to them, but it's a vital part of getting the 'good' (read, alternative) ending.
The Chao Gardens should return but it should only be an optional minigame and something you shouldn't be forced to do to fully complete the game. That way you have a choice and if you don't want to raise Chao you don't have to, while the people who like raising Chao can.
Honestly I think they'd be best spinning it out into its own game, starring Cream. An open ended Chao raising RPG with hundreds of ways to nurture and customise them and hundreds of ways to use them (not simply the sit back and watch races in the Sonic Adventure games). The Chao have felt very tacked on in everything since post-Sonic Adventure.
Harvest Chao: Boy's Edition starring Tails, and Harvest Chao: Girl's Edition starring Cream.
Gotta Mate 'Em All!
Shhh, don't give them ideas. If the Sonic series ever falls into the multiple versions of one game Pokemon/Rockman.exe gimmick then all hope will be lost.
Why just limit it to two people?
What they ought to do is have a game mostly devoted to Chao racing, with maybe a few simple levels thrown in for the sake of getting Chaos Drives and/or Animals for stat boosting.
Have Chao Karate/Fighting return, except this time with more focus on specific characters.
What I mean by that is that the chao's fighting style changes more depending on who they like.
EG: Sonic liking chao "break-dance-fight."
Knuckles liking chao are more punch heavy.
Rouge liking chao are more kick heavy.
Etc.
There's a whole bunch of potential for a Chao-based game.

Breakdance fight
*Imagines chao doing the worm*
Anyway, I love chao very much, and would like them to return, but only if it can't be made into a game. I love you my little Sonic Jr.! I want to hug you and love you and then you will turn into a Chaos Chao in a couple of days!

That would be awful. Concentrating on the races would limit the game tremendously, and why would stat boosters need to be collected in "levels"? It worked in Sonic Adventure 2 because it was a mini game with almost no depth. To make a full game of it you'd have to go a lot further, like Animal Crossing.
Man, if they do stick them in the next Sonic game, I hope they aren't nessesarry to get all the emblems or what ever like they have been. I'll never see all the emblems in SA or the Green Hill Zone on SA2 because I can't stand to freak around with the stupid things. Its fun for me up to a point but I can't bring myself to stare for hours at them...
I don't think that it would be monetarily viable to try to sell a Chao game on its own anyway. But what about a thing like what Namco did with Pac-Man VS? A second disc packed in with an actual game. That way for those of us that don't care that much, we can give that disc away, and for the Chao lovers it would be an incentive to buy the two pack.
Bah. Everytime I type out what my ideal "Chao spin-off" game would be, what I end up describing is a blatant Pokemon clone.
Chao Tamers, indeed. Still...
a chao game on GBA would be GRRREAT! (sorry for the frosties impression) you could take your chao everywhere! and there should be more character breeds (tails, cream, rouge etc.)! just hope sega aint viewing or theyll steal my ideas!
I would love for sega to make a seperate game for Chao Raising. I would prefer such a game to be either on DS(Compatible with GBA and GCN gardens) or Console/PC(GCN version compatible with GBA gardens).
The following list of ideas for such a game was Copy & Pasted from an OpenOffice Text Document:
New Features:

Public events where someone sets up a online competition, sets rules entry requirements, and may even allow public bets(Rings or items)
Arcade or casino like place where rings can be won.
Day/Night/Seasons cycle based on real time.
