I think the funniest a Sonic game has been was in Sonic Adventure 2
Dr. Eggman: Now put the Chaos Emerald there, slowly.
Sonic: (suprised Eggman didn't hear this) by giving him the fake emerald I can kill two birds with one stone.
Dr. Eggman: Did you really think you could fool me with that fake emerald?
Tails: How did you know that was the fake one?
Sonic: TAILS!!
Dr Eggman:: Because you just told me!
Now i laughed, i dont know whether it was a laugh of comedy or a laugh of take that you stupid fox.

There isnt a lot of comedy in Sonic games really.
Some of Sonic battle was funny.

Vector calling Rouge a broad was unexpected so it got a snigger.

Sonic Adventure: After the Egg Carrier transforms and Tails goes on about how amazing it was and then theres Sonic looking at him with half-shut eyes.

Also playing Sonic adventure in japanese just for Amy screaming SONIKKU!!! ahhh i guess you had to be there.

I don't know why but the boing! sound that plays whenever Eggmans punch attack is used in SA2 makes me laugh. BOING! .

Also, the part in Knuckles story of Sonic battle when he gets trapped in the electricity but fights against it and slams into a wall never ceases to make me laugh.

The way Sonic looks like dracula with those freaky sharp teeth in the scene when Tails crashes his prototype plane and he screams in oddly hilarious in Sonic adventure.

Practically anything involving Rouge and Amy (and Sonic) in Sonic Battle. Plus whenever Emerl talked at first and people thought he sounded just like Sonic.

i'll admit that that's one of the few times where i laughed out aloud when i first saw it. ^^

tails' screaming at the very beginning of SA was great. (japanise language, naturally.)

The moment that makes me laugh the most was in SA2. It was that scence where Eggman was watching the news flash about the chaos emerald being stolen. When he starts watching he leans down a bit and starts scratching his hindend! That makes me laugh all the time!

Hmmm...can't think of many moments, but the beginning of Sonic Adventure (in English) always made me chuckle.

"Oh no! Our weapons are useless!"

1. Eggman sounds like a Russian.
2. Knuckles sounds like a German.
3. You actually get anoyed with Shadow's voice after a while...and when he completes a stage, all he says is 'Yus.' in a really tedious voice. Sounds like someone's bored...
4. Tails' voice is actually GOOD.
5. Amy is just plain annoying. WORST VOICE EVER but hilarious to watch.

Watch the opening sequence to Iron Gate with Jap narration...you'll see what I mean.

That's awesome, I love that bit. It's one of the few jokes that doesn't lose its humorous-ness when the game is set to english voices.

Tails shreiking in japanese as the Tornado crashes is massively funny, but awful at the same time ^^;

I'd love to see more little jokes in upcoming Sonic games, so long as they're not made too less funny by the english voicing (SA2's out of control rocket scene in english is like listening to some things on Newgrounds - the joke could be really funny if it weren't so horribly delivered. Ugh, the pacing..).

- Eggman's expressions in the classics. I just find the whole thing where he flees with that unhappy expression on his face funny.

- The way the characters show emotion in SA1 and Fighters. The cartoony style holds a certain magic.

- Using weapon steal in Fighters

- "Just having Knuckles pilot the shuttle on the way over here was more dangerous than you could ever be." It linked to the shuttle scene well.

- Alot of scenes in battle. It's a shame about the ending when I look back on it...Especially when I look at what they did in Sadv3.

- As mentioned, messing with the language settings can have funny results too...In other games moreso than the Sonics, really.

A funny moment I'll never forget is in Sonic 3, when Sonic tries to go past Knuckles in Eggman's flying thing in Launch Base. Knuckles punches the flying thingy then starts laughing, then falls off of whatever he's standing on. Hehe. Silly echidna.

For some reason I found playing my SB cart in Japanese kinda funny.

One thing I cracked up laughing when I first heard was when I played the cutscene (SA2, Jap narration) where Shadow and Sonic first meet...
Listening to Shadow saying "Ka-oos Kontroll" just made me laugh. I like to joke about it.

Yes, Shads' Jap VA is REALLY bad. Not as bad as Amy's, though. You can't even hear what she's saying. It's worse than Cream's NORMAL VA.

Also, have Eggman as your theme and go to the Stage Select screen. (Again, with Jap narration.) It's a RIOT.

Every time Eggman says yes in SA2, I laugh. YOSH!!

Anyone see the Japaneese TV ad for Sonic Spinball? It's on Sonic Jam for the Sega Saturn, and maybe a few other places, idk.

But the commentry to that always makes me LOL!!! Some of the words they don't have in Japaneese have to be said in English, so it comes out like:

...bla bla bla bla SPINBALL GAME bla bla bla bla bla bla FUNKY ACTION bla bla bla bla...

(needless to say I can't type Japaneese, but you get the idea^^)

I thought the way they narrated every single thing they were doing in the SA games was funny enough. A prime example is when Tails is going to "save" Sonic near the beginning of SA2.

i laugh so much every time i play sa and hear the bad acting of ryan drummond saying "watch out you're gonna crash ah"
not that ryan drummond is a bad actor but the "ah" is so bad you just can't resist laughing at it

In Sonic Heroes, I just loved the way Tails talked in the Ghost castle intro.
Tails:Sonic. Are you sure this is the right way?
He talks scared.
Sonic:I saw Eggman and Shadow headed this way.
He thinks Shadow is getting along with Eggman.
Tails:But it's so spooky in here!
Knuckles:Whell, maybe that was the ghost of Shadow we saw earlier.
Tails: Whoo! Stop it Knckles.
Stupid Knuckles! On that last sentence about Tails's saying, Tails talks more like if he's about to cry. If he's scared enough why does Knuckles makes him almost want to cry?

I love all of SA1's "o.o" moments. When someone talks and the other person's just like "o.o;"

This is a message all people that think japanese is funny. What are we? Teens or little kids. The reason why I say this is because little kids think when people speak foreign languages is funny (example: Italian, French, German, Chinese, and Japanese.). That is imaturerity. If you'll think the japanese narraration is funny, then that means people in Japan would be laughing everytime they say a word.

i'm certainly neither a little kid nor a teen. as a fully fledged adult who has taken a few japanise lessons in a serious attempt to learn it, i don't think it's funny just because it's another language.

we're laughing at the actual voice acting. if the american VAs had been making those noises/words/whatever, it'd be just as amusing.

i'm sure the japanise find the english language just as hillarious as we find theirs. why're you getting so worked up?

Heh, I love in Sonic 3 whenever you encounter Knuckles, the snide little chuckle he has. Before they gave him a voice, he was as snooty as they came.

I also loved how Knux almost had a stroke in Sonic Adventure 2 when the emerald pieces fell out of the ship and Sonic was all like "oh, don't worry about them".

Knuckles: "ARRRGGHHH."

The best ones that have been mentioned were the Sonic not caring about Tails crashing ("watch out you're gonna crash ahh") and Robotnik's "yosh!" Especially humourous when you pick up a Chao in the garden with him. "Yooooosh."

Any time Sonic and Amy run into each other. Especially in Sonic Advance 3:

Amy: Oh, Sonic... Where have you been?

Sonic: Now Amy, calm down! Don't use that hammer...

And at the end of Team Sonic's story in Sonic Heroes:

Amy: Ha! I gotcha Sonic! SONIC!

Sonic: (Looks freaked) Later guys! I'm outta here!

(close up of Sonic looking over his shoulder at Amy, who is in hot pursuit. Sonic has a "Someone upstairs hates me" look on his face.)

Also, Sonic and Knuckles. Almost ANYTHING they say when they meet each other is funny.

And then, in Sonic Battle:

Sonic: Hey Emerl! Cut it out! Stop pulling my needles!

Rouge: What have I gotten myself into? (Runs off)

The different nicknames Sonic and Co. use for Eggman: Bloated buffoon, Mustache Moron, Mustache Monkey, etc.

The cutscene when you unlock Amy in SAdv3 was funny.
So was SAdv2 in the series of pics when you unlock Knux and the text underneath it:

Knuckles: You know, the funniest thing happened...
Sonic: You got duped by Eggman...AGAIN!
Knuckles: Leave me alone!

Then in the beginning of Amy's episode in Sonic Battle when Amy punches Sonic (you have to have the language in English):

Emerl: Mom...
Amy: Yes, dear?
Emerl: Your punch got not juice, fool! You couldn't kill a fly with that!
Sonic: *takes off*

When Metal Sonic's non-existant brakes make him hit the wall in Sonic CD!

Some of the Sonic Battle cutscenes make me laugh out loud. XD
Like when Knuckles runs into the wall when Emerl presses the button to deactivate the machine that was paralyzing him and the Amy scenes. =D
Also the sound Shadow and Sonic make when they die in Battle, that makes me laugh SOO hard!! "Mah!" "Ugh!" XD XD Knuckles' sound is funny, too!

Didn't I already mention the Amy hilarity?

When Eggman cheesed off Charmy at the end of Team Chaotix's story in Heroes

Eggman: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(shadows show Charmy in a stinging frenzy, with Eggman frantically and futilely attempting to swat him away)

It's even funnier when you realize only female bees have stingers....
EDIT: This is because stingers are modified egg-laying apparatuses. Thus, queen bees- the only fertile female bees in the colony- do not have stingers, and those with stingers- workers, drones, soldiers, nurses, et cetera- are sterile, being unable to lay eggs.

Thus ends my little entymology lesson for today.
Hope I didn't bug you(another Dumb Pun alert).

How about the scene in Amy's story in SA1, when Amy tells Sonic that she wants him to be Birdy's bodyguard for a while, and Sonic goes "WHAT??" in an oddly high-pitched voice? That's usually good for a laugh or two.

Drones, by definition, are fertile male bees and thus don't have stingers at any point in their life-cycle.

Going so fast I got stuck in a wall in Launch Base...funny considering how bad the code can be at times.

The look on Knuckles' face when he first sees Silver Knuckles in Sonic Advance.

I thought Charmy Bee in Sonic Heroes was funny. Whenever he saqid something, it was funny. I don't know if it was his voice or because he's energetic, but to me he is funny.

I. Sonic Adventure: " ... This presents a problem."
I got a chuckle from Gamma's self-narration when he gets warped to the past, and determines he's doomed.

II. Sonic Heroes: Chaotix in-game chatter
They were the only team with anything interesting and character-building to say. I had a hoot on my first run-through of Ocean Palace when they try to sneak up on the sleeping robots.
There's a cute moment in Egg Fleet where Charmy moans about his motion sickness while flying and Vector basically gives him a weirded out, "wtf?" response. "You're a bee! You're flying all the time!"

III. Shadow the Hedgehog: Lethal Highway intro
"... get back here!" It's the same dry, understated humor as Gamma when Shadow, who's trying to shrug of friendly Sonic, ends up chasing him in the end.

The fragility of Shadows plot. I mean, it can contradict itself in one scene. Look at the scene before Cosmic Fall.

"She was the closest thing to family I had"

"You killed my family!"

(They aren't the exact lines by the way)

And when you wound the soldiers in Shadow. No, please no! They sound half assed. And they keep, SCREAMING!! For no reason.

Most of the one's already stated. The scenes involving the Chaotix trying to hack into someone's computer (Eggman's or the Ark's)in Shadow are mildly funny. The first one I think is the better of the two, where Vector and Charmy are complaining on how Espio's taking all day, then Shadow just walks up and practically karate chops the computer, getting to the start up.

The 2D games seem to provide even more laughs than the 3D ones. Sonic Battle was just great, as many have stated.

I love Sonic Rush's story scenes. Blaze, being very serious and coming from another world into this new dimension, she's even more weirded out by how naiively trusting and hung up on simple things (like sitting down for a cup of tea) Cream and her mother are.

I also like how everybody in this world tells her to find Sonic (who's famous in his world), and she couldn't care less about whoever this Sonic guy is, but people can't shut up about him. This random guy who everyone seems to think is the answer for everything, making it seem like a world of useless people who can't do anything for themselves, and thus they idolise Mr. Go-to guy.

I found it quite humorous when Knuckles gets angry about being trapped under rocks by Blaze, and takes it out on a pile of boulders before running off. The funny thing is Sonic and Tails sort of rolling their eyes at Knuckles by saying how typical that is of him, with lowered eyelids and wry smiles on their faces. "At least he cleared the road for us".

This isn't end spoilers or anything, but pretty funny, and better experienced for yourself before reading it here. It's the first encounters with Knuckles and Amy in Blaze's story.

Cream is a polite kid, but it seems she doesn't always think before speaking, and thus she's brutally honest concerning her feelings...

Knuckles: "Hey, Cream. It's been a while."
Blaze: "Uh, who is this guy?"
Cream: "That's Knuckles. He's a tough guy, but he isn't very bright."
Knuckles: "What?!"
Cream: "Aaah!"
Blaze, thinking: "It doesn't look like Cream is too bright herself."

Blaze: "Um, who is she?"
Cream: "This is Amy. She's a really energetic girl who loves Sonic. But she can be a bit shortsighted in that regard."
Amy looking pissed, hammer in hand: "Cream, we better have a little talk..."

In Shadow, when you're in Lost Impact, I think it's somewhat funny when Maria says, "When the Artifical Chaos, break up, don't you think they're kinda cute?" or something to that affect.
