Surprised no one posted this yet.

I think it's definitely one of the best fan 3D animations out there if not the best.
Why does it get slow and skip frames when there are tons of objects, like at 7:00? His hardware can't render it?
Otherwise that's quite a major accomplishment.
He says he used Maya. I'm not familiar with Maya but it may have been too intensive for his hardware. So in scenes where it would take hours to render a frame, to speed things up he may have opted to drop frames tho I dunno to be honest.
Hm, I just downloaded the file from within the description and it does not have the frame skips meaning I guess youtube encoding errors.
he's so awsome!
light?! why isnt he here on the mofo? i thought this was the biggest sonic fan site there is. it would be so awsome to have a dedicated taleneted member here... i mean there's lots of cool members now let's get one more, can we lure him in here, it would be cool if he was one of us, i wonder if he does requests??
he should work for sonic team for sure.

ahahahahahahaha
Oh the reminder of the days when I still cared about Sonic as much =O
waaaaaaaaa i'm confused!
are you hinting that this isnt the biggest sonic site? its a sonic HQ that's gotta mean something. and you're still a sonic fan pachamac coming to the sonic hq proves it... you're just a little lurky like the rest from the strain of the years, kinda like if people lived underground without lights for a few years, they become.. lurky XD
Wow this video is amazing.
I can definitely understand where he's coming from in the ways of getting burnt out. It took me over a year to make my first movie when I got my first Mac, granted it was all in my free time.
Regardless, it would be cool if was on the forums.
I second Sonicfan1991's question in a sense though; what is the biggest fan site? I know the MoFo is pretty big.
Typing out "mofo" just made me realize that's part of my name, but in no way means the same thing, haha.
I'm gonna say, that video was amazing. Every time I heard Project Chaos's "The Doomsday" I always had something akin to this playing in my head (the music is too epic not to), but this just took imagination and went beyond the impossible. I am quite impressed.
Also, if it says anything about how awesome Sonic 3 & Knuckles' scriptless narative is, when I was watching, Tricia (who never got Hyper Sonic) asked "is that how it goes in the game?" with the innocence of someone who's not sure how much of the scenario was dramatized and how much was true to gameplay.
For the little bit of off-topic stuff (which should not be replied to. It can become it's own thread in the appropriate place if it needs) in regards to Sonic HQ. I'll be blunt. We were never one of the bigger sites. Back when Sonic HQ was getting regular updates and we had a full staff (alas, the staff has mostly gone their own directions due to... well, let's say we know drama... and life happens) we were top five-ten at best, and that was mostly as an Archie resource.
The more popular/large sites usually have a main focus. GHZ for instance is a SegaSonic site, Sonic Stadium was always a good news resource, Sonic Cult was always good for hacks and rare stuff, there's even FUS for those who are eternally trapped in 1994 and refuse to let SatAM go.
SHQ's main export is apathy. No, seriously. This is the biggest collection of ironic Sonic fans I am aware of which still has the gall to call themselves a Sonic FANsite.

And that's what makes us the real fans.
Thanks, Craig.
But yeah back on topic, I believe the music used in this was part of Project Chaos. I've showed that Doomsday remix to a few metal heads and they really dug it.
Here's hoping that someone with the capabilities finds this video and asks permission to finish it. Although it does seem ironically epic that the title has "Part 1" in it, even though Part 2 does not currently exist.

makes you proud to be a sonic fan doesnt it XD <dries tear>

hold on are you saying you saw this video before? <scratches head> i thought it was new like scotty said it has a "part 1" title with no second part done yet.
He means his imagination, Mada...he was imagining a scene like this when listening to the BGM remix used. 😛
you know i just noticed your reply here, you're such a huge help to me mobius, waaaaaaaaaaa i must reward you! <goes to give you kudo... if that's still there>
but with all honesty that BGM is awsome for daydreaming sonic doing great stunts
Look up stuff on OCremix.com for sonic remixes...my god, there's some amazing music there too!
