OMG!!!
dr robotniks blah dkfjl is the most aggravating addictive game i have ever played!
is there games with aggravating addicting qualities?
anyway, i played it yesterday
first lvl, i kicked it with a size 12 steel toe boot
2nd lvl..... this god damn lvl is so freakin hard!
the computer gets a whole 2 rows of beans and then he sets up his beans PERFECTLY so that he can get combos and drop bad things in your side of the field
after a half hour at that i got to
.....lvl 3.....
i thought lvl 2 was impossible but then this lvl...wow
i could get so close as to where the computer's beans are at the top of his screen and all it takes is one of their perfectly planned set up bean drops to turn it completely 360 around and i lose 10 seconds following
and the more i drop the faster it gets
not for the computer tho
who else has played this game and almost broke it in frustration...i hate/love these kind of games
South Island, definitely. *move*
oh man, i'm confused.
today is such a confusing day.
-----------------------------------------------the-Krayon
I cannot help myself vomit at robotnik's belly let alone go to the first level.
NOOOOOOOO!!!
PLEASE!!!
It's PUYO PUYO!!!
Never Mean Bean Machine!!!
....
Great game tho, just ruined with the AoStH license...they should've just put Puyo Puyo 1 on Mega Collection.
But I think Sonic Team got their revenge by devloping Puyo Pop!!
ALRIGHT!!
That is all I have to say...bye.
Actually, the game can be quite addicting, even if it is a little bit strange. The only problem with it is that they covered up the excellent puzzle gameplay with a bunch of American Sonic crap. If it weren't for the terrible look of all the characters in the game and the fact they just made it into a Sonic game to sell more copies, it would truly be an excellent game.
Yeah, it's really addicting. I can't wait for the new Puyo game for Gamecube.
Not sure whether I want that one, really. It looks sorta fun, but I don't want to support Sonic Team after all their crap.
I used to play this game back when it used to be on Sega Channel of the Sega Genesis back in 1997. I never played the NTSC MegaDrive version of Puyo Puyo, but I've beaten Super Puyo Puyo on the Super Famicom. Puyo Puyo is better, but what about the new next-gen game Puyo Puyo Fever? Is it any good?
Aesthetically, I thought Kirby's Avalanche was superior to DRMBM--though supposedly they are both pwned in terms of story and characters by the original Puyo-Puyo cast. This is the only positive things I will say about Puyo-Puyo as I never really enjoyed the games(maybe because of a steep learning curve that appears in level 2). =P

Even if the game is supposedly good?
SOOOONIIICCC HERRROOOOEEEESSSS!!!
I can read your mind BTW...
I mean, maybe they should make another Sonic puzzle game...ah...maybe not...
'Sonic Puzzle Party'
Se-pu-kuu!!!
AAAARGHJ!

That'd be a first. 😛
I hope it turns out good, through. So it'll show that Sonic Team can still make good games. Even if it turns out good, I still wouldn't buy it, puzzle games aren't my thing. 😉
Hmmm...Men bean machine VERY challenging to say the least, I got up to level 5 once (Coconuts) on easy and lost, so I did what any other respectible gamer would do, go to Sonic HQ's mean machine game page and get the code for the last level against Robotnik. =P
even though the beans came down really fast, it was a lot easier compared to some of the other levels...

Well, normally if a game is good enough then I definitely buy it, despite who the developer is. Some people buy games just because they're loyal to developers and some people buy other games just because they feel certain developers have betrayed them. That's how I feel about Sonic Team. I've bought a ton of their recent games, and it's starting to leave a sour taste in my mouth. So even if Puyo Puyo Fever is really good, I'd feel bad for supporting a development team that's made some bad stuff. Of course, if Puyo Puyo Fever sold enough and I really liked it, then maybe they'd make another one, which wouldn't be so bad, assuming that I liked it in the first place. Or... they could just take the chunka change they earned from Puyo Puyo Fever and use it to develop Sonic Heroes 2- now 5 teams, ten characters per team, ten different formations (power, speed, flight, stealth, cute, shopping spree, gun mode, cutesy, dumb, and retarded), an even worse camera than before, and advanced cell phone graphics.
If their good games start selling and their bad games don't, then they'll get the idea. Solution? Buy good games, don't buy bad games. It's so crazy that it just might work.
Good point. I'm just doubting that my one copy bought of Puyo Puyo Fever will make that much of a difference, considering how the series and puzzle games in general don't seem to be that popular.
WHYYYYYYYYY that game suckes.
Did that really need to be bumped up? *Looks at the poster's name* OH! Never mind. Seriously, newthunder, add something that adds to the conversation.

Hmmm... I've never looked at it that way before. Thank you good sir.
I suffered hard stress through playing Dr. Robotnik Mean Bean Machine in content.
After playing the game on Hardest mode, hoping to actually complete the whole game cause me major headaches, and resulted in a certain mind problem for sometime.
It caused me to think that everything I looked at I could waor a pattern out of it, this cause many problems, and somehow I can't really explain it.
In terms I had 3 days of work just to get over it..Kid me not.
Don't play this game on Hardest mode for hours on end, even if you think you can win, you can't.
I just won't go back there.
*Whacks Newthunder over the head* If Vec wasn't being a peace lover at the moment and removing the no bash rule, I'd say more, but for now *Whack*
Anywho. Mean Bean Machine is just Columns or Super Puzzle Fighter, without the fun or content of either. I never did enjoy the game.
So as i say SUCKEY!!!!
Though Dr. Robotnik Mean Bean Machine wasn't truly masterpiece in it's time, and I did miss it first time round on the Mega-Drive.
Though having to say that there was some enjoyment there, it doesn't hold a candle to Columns or even Tetris, it just din't have the same prestige as the others.
But being something without those 2, it did give some enjoyment to 2 player fight outs, which I thought was actually better then Columns..But that's not the point.
Give me Columns anyday, and I will end up in a mental ward. Give me Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine, and I will be playing with my Jelly at dinner time.
newthunder, stop outright flaming a game like that, and for the love of Pete, DON'T bump up a topic that old just to say something sucks.
This is, what, the UMPTEENTH time I've had to lecture you on rules? Well, I've had enough of it. The next infringement I catch you doing is an instant warning. (If you haven't read the rules yet, this'd be a GREAT time to do so.)
Well it's only natural the Tetris would be better than Columns. After all, if I'm not mistaken, Tetris practically gave birth to the puzzle genre. Correct me if I'm wrong though. I've played both, well actually only demos of Tetris (heaven only knows how much I want to play the full game ), but the only one I actually have experience with is Columns and it is addictive.
On the note of MBM, I've seen screenshots of it and IMO, it looks horrible. I don't like to play games that are hard to look at.
Don't judge a book by its cover; personally, it's actually really, really fun. Try it or some other Puyo Puyo iteration some time, you'll likely have a blast.
That said, a "demo" of Tetris? How can such a thing exist?...
It's not so much judging a book by its cover as it is refusing to read that particular copy of the book because it's sprawled with graffiti on every page.

Honestly I have been quite curious about Puyo Puyo Pop. I may consider renting it first and if I like it, I'll probably buy it.
And about the Tetris demo, I have a PS1 demo disk that has Tetris on it.
My Dad LOVES Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.I go into my room to play Gamecube and there HE is sitting there playing Dr.RMBM on the Sega Genesis!*sigh*At least this wasn't as bad as his addiction to Sonic 1 after he found my book of Game Genie codes on it.O.o
To be honest though,I prefer Columns 3 for Sega Genesis over Dr.RMBM.I was the one who sat for hours playing Columns 3.My Dad can HAVE Dr.RMBM.I'll take Columns 3 and Pokemon Puzzle League.
