Is that what Genocide City Zone was meant to have looked like had it made the final version of Sonic 2?
Not really. That's a fan created level, which repeated itself between zones, and was basically Chemical Plant as far as enemies and the boss went. I'm pretty sure the background was also a modified one from a Batman game.
If we had ever got a Genocide City, it probably would have looked like a mix between Chemical Plant, Metropolis and Scrap Brain.
Yeah man, I suspected it was a fanmade level. Also, the music in that clip is from the 2-player version of Casino Night Zone, which to me is not befitting of a level called 'Genocide City Zone'. It's catchy, sure, but it's not utterly badass.
Genocide City was supposed to look like The Machine from Spinball, last I checked.
It was also suppose to have Chemical Plant's music too.
But i see why a city called Genocide wasn't in the final version.

Yeah, it'd make the kiddies pee their pants. Screw them.
Like a kid would know what Genocide means
Heck, I pronounced the egyptian level in Quackshot as "Egg-Yipt" for years, and I know I had no clue what Genocide was.
Fanmade aside it's pretty good

Like all kids have poor vocabularies.
Did anyone else notice that both acts are identical to each other aside of the addition to the end of Act 2 for the Eggman Battle?
I noticed the Eggman battle, although Dr. Robotnik (a.k.a : "Eggman") gets too much of a what is it with Dr. Robotnik, and naming things that Dr. Robotnik uses out of being Dr. Robotnik's creations after the egg?
