How about this game idea:

Sonic Shuffle 360 for the X-Box 360.
Sonic and his pals must protect the Earth from being plunged into darkness by finding the mysterious Ancient Jewels. Sonic and Co. must get back the Ancient Jewels and defeat the evil Dark King.
Eggman is also in the fray, trying to tease the heroic players. 65 new Mini-games have been created, and the player must fight their way through 7 huge boards. In addition, the game has character bios, quicker loading time, and a day-and-night cycle that activates every 12 games.

Playable characters are: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Cream, Omega, Jet, and Blaze.

Character voices:
Sonic/Shadow/Jet: Jason Griffith
Tails: Amy Palant
Knuckles: Dan Green
Amy: Lisa Ortiz
Cream: Rebecca Honig
Rouge: Kathleen Delany
Omega: Andrew Rannells
Blaze: Bella Hudson
Eggman: Mike Pollock
Dark King: Tim Curry

I'll give you credit for not introducing fan characters into the picture, but Shuffle just wasn't that fun. Certainly not enough fun for a sequel any time soon.

Moreover, why 360? Why not all three? In fact, there's barely any outline of a game idea here, just a storyline and a bunch of characters and/or tidbits that don't outline gameplay, and instead sound more like the back of a game box. If I had a nickel for every time somebody called this a "game idea", I'd be a rich man...

I'd prefer a port of the original before a whole new game...

Actually, once you get past the absurd loading times, I found Sonic Shuffle to be a pretty good, if sometimes annoying game. I loved the designs of Precioustone bosses and Void's design.

Since we're on the topic of Sonic Shuffle, does anyone have or know where I can find any in-game screenshots of all six Precioustone bosses?

Dark King: Tim Curry

Keep dreaming Rash. We all know Jason Griffith would scarf up the role.

It's a nice idea, and it'd be great to see Blaze again, but as you can see that those of us who enjoyed Shuffle are a minority. *Especially since stripping the characters of their abilities in the minigames was a pain*

BTW, Void was cool.

If there ever was a sequel to Shuffle it would have to be for the Revolution; the controller is PERFECT for the minigames. I was never a fan of the original but this could rock. Hmm maybe this is the Sonic Revolution game rumoured to be in development.

Haven't played Sonic Shuffle but I heard it's awful.

When I read the first post I thought this was a joke topic.

...Please say it is.

I'm probably one of those people who doesn't shoot Shuffle and its playability on sight, but I certainly wouldn't see it doing much in the sequel stakes. I do also wonder why a game like this would appear on 360, when it's clearly more Nintendo material these days. It's largely because of that association that I can't see a sequel ever appearing. The game's just far too close to Mario Party in make-up, and the team who made both are probably still on churning duty to get Mario Party 8 or whatever number it is now onto Revolution for near-launch.

Still, when it comes to the original game there are some moments where playing it is made fun merely by its quirkiness. Robotnik's 'events' are moments of madcap genius not seen in many other games, and the enemies are just funny to look at.

I have to agree Shuffle's got some fun moments, but it has the same homogenization of characters as Heroes does, and the loading times REALLY tend to kill any enjoyment you and your chums could get out of the game. Also, some of the minigames are ust plain uninspired and the boards tend to be uninteresting at best.

Of course, if these problems could be fixed then Sonic Shuffle 2 might be a semi-enjoyable game. Certainly no Mario Party, but not the trainwreck the first one tends to be.

I actually thought Sonic Shuffle was cool. I loved that game. It was so fun. But the loading times were kinda bad, but I got used to them. I think a sequal might be worth it, that is, if there's new and more things to it.

Wow. I thought I was the only one who loved Shuffle.

Besides, while its loading, you might be able to finish a level or two in Sonic Rush, thus negating the wait!:thumbsup

The Dark King is an evil interdimensional sorcerer who is bent on contolling the world by shattering the Ancient Jewels. He is a close resemblence of Black Doom from Shadow the Hedgehog.

Bad Raccoon bumping topics... *clouts*

Anyways... The whole of Shuffle was built up on peoples dreams so maybe instead of You playing as Sonic etc. you actually play as a character you have created (furry, human or otherwise) and you do the whole Mario Party thing in Sonic's and the rests dreams.

Except Shadow. It'll be too dark and would scare people with the whole Maria shooting in 3D. 3D MIND.
Edit (needed toilet):
The game is a basic first to 3 Precioustones. When you reach the precioustone instead of a battle you will get a 3 on 1 mini game. If you win you get a Precioustone, you lose you go back to the last checkpoint you passed. Also Card thing = Dropped. Instead two random dice ala Mario Party. But you can select how far you want to go. Example: you get a 11 and you only want to go 8 spaces you can. You can't roll doubles. If you roll doubles three times in a row = Eggman smite.

The characters you create have to be sorted into three different groups (go on you can guess before I say):
Speed: Short Cut: Use Grind Rails.
Fly: Short Cut: Use Flight Paths ala Riders.
Power: Short Cut: Smash Doors/Wall Climb.
Chaos Magic: Warp to the other end of it.

Spaces:
Ring: With Plus and Minus thing. Same thing as Shuffle.
Up Arrow: You have found a random power up.
S/F/P/CM: You can use your unique power if you want.
Shield: For this space only you cant be harmed by Eggman or other characters.
Eggman: "Heh heh heh. What fiendish invetion shall I use this time!" Yeah.
Mini Game: All V All, One on 2, One on 3, Tag.
Checkpoint: When you pass this your progress is saved in case you die/lose.

Boards: (I'll do a few)
Sonic: Green Hill Zone Holiday.
Tails: Sky Sanctuary.
Knuckles: Emerald Shrine to Sandopolis, Lava Reef and Ice Cap.
Amy: All Pink and floating hearts with Sonic's. I.e. Hell.
Cream: Chao Garden sort of thing.
Shadow: Ark
Rouge: Mission Impossible sort of thing with lazers and jewels.
Jet: Babylon Garden.

Power Ups:
No where near as much useless ones as Shuffle. 10 limit One time use to all of them unless you find two or more:
Speed Shoes: You can go double the distance if you want for one go.
Concrete Shoes: Select some one else to go only half the distance for one go.
Flashing Rainbow Chaos Drive: You can use this to use the CM space.
Grind Shoes: You can use this to use the Speed Space.
Rocket Pack: You can use this to use the Fly Space.
Metal Gloves: You can use this to use the Power Space.
Trade: Swap your power up for another's
Swap: Swap your place with another.
Shield: Protect your self from others for one go.
Eggman: Call on Eggman to do your dirty work.
Piko Piko Hammer: Make someone lose their rings with Amy's Hammer o' Love.
Void's Deal: You got 50 Rings? You want a precioustone? Cough up.

Thats it for now....

I don't get why people like mario party more than sonic shuffle. Were the mini games in Shuffle just that bad? I personally liked the jumping rope over a pit mini game. And the rainbow jumping lillypad game.

I think its more of the fact, The AI cheated a lot, The load times were too long and the game was a bit too slow.

The mini games were fun.

Interesting idea.
But, the mini games in the original were fun and all, but...
I really don't think I'd spring on another one.

Things like cheating A.I., game speed and load times can be fixed. At least I'm pretty sure they should be fixed without too much trouble A good party game should allow the player to choose how difficult the A.I. can be. Didn't Shuffle have this?

I own this game but since my Dreamcast broke down I haven't played it for a while. For what it was worth it was a decent time waster. Not perfect but I can't call it a horrible game. And it's far from being branded the worse game ever made.

I just don't put a lot of faith in Sega. A game like Shuffle would do good on the Wii with proper adjustments. And something to set it apart from Mario Party.

Dude, I remember how addictive I was to Sonic Shuffle.
A few of my relatives came over for a few days- and I would barely speak to them because I couldn't miss my dear Sonic Shuffle xD
IMO, it's SO SO SO SO SO much better playing with your friends than with the computer.
I loved the game. It was fun and addictive, and it would be hella tight to see Sonic return to teh Dream World clad in Cell Shades with that awesome Void person!

YES! Call me crazy, but I was a HUGE Sonic Shuffle fan, I loved the Mini-Games, and the idea of Mini-Events was also much needed.
But yeah, the Loading times, and OTT A.I made the game painful, but I withstood it, barely.

Still, if they could clean up the formula, throw in some old Sonic references, (remember, Mario Party had the gimmick of including a lot of familiar faces in the Mario World), speed up loading times, and think of a better story, I would WANT THE GAME!

But I agree that it should be a Wii title if anything!
(If it's gonna be a Sequel, perhaps having a Void/Lumina reference would be good.)
